### 4/5 — Could be fantastic

*2014-09-16, version 1.1.1*

This app has great potential, sounds and playing UI are superb but it needs a few missing features to make it a serious music tool... It needs Audiobus, iAA, midi in and midi out and the ability to be able to define one's own tracks and scales then it would rock as a compositional tool.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2013-04-20*

I always wanted to play an instrument and now I can. Can't wait for them to add more songs!

### 5/5 — Fixed and still fun.

*2013-04-16*

You fixed the app in the update as promised. Still a fun app.🎼🎶🎻🎺🎷🎸🎤

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2013-04-16*

This app allows guys like me with zero musical ability to join in and play! Kudos to the guys at Recombinant, I look forward to seeing what they do next. Loving it! I love the new version with new options! Just need more content, which I know you are working on.

### 3/5 — Upgrade causes app to crash.....

*2013-04-11*

Upgraded to all-access and now the app crashes. Cannot use as is.

This is an excellent app, just the minor bug after the upgrade. I'm sure this will be fixed quickly.

Looking forward to using the app.

### 5/5 — Amazing and fun!

*2013-03-31*

Everyone who even thinks they'd like to play music should have this app. Really easy to make fun and interesting music without previous experience. Just WONDERFUL!

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2013-03-24*

This app is easy to use and create jams.

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2013-03-20*

Similar to Bloom, but lets you accompany pre-made music. Fun!

### 5/5 — Great implementation of interesting idea

*2013-03-18*

I'm a professional keyboardist. I make a living from improvising. This app definitely gives you some of that mystical feeling that only improvising can provide. Obviously it's not that same as with a real instrument. But if you're new to music, this can give you a taste of what you're missing.
Rock on guys.

### 5/5 — Jambandit

*2013-03-16*

Incredible! I used it on my iPhone. Someone buy me an iPad!

### 1/5 — Worked for 10 mins after .99 purchase crashed and doesn't run anymore

*2013-04-13, version 1.0.2*

Worked for 10 mins after .99 purchase crashed and doesn't run anymore.

This is on iPad 2. Please upgrade and fix the crashing.

### 1/5 — Upgrade crash

*2013-04-12*

After purchased upgrade pack the app won't start. Fix it or refund.
Deleted and installed again still won't work

### 1/5 — Crash at the splash screen...

*2013-04-12, version 1.0.2*

iPad 3, start the app and crash at the splash screen and return me to iOS.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2013-03-24*

Crappy version of thumbjam designed for people who can't play an instrument but still want to rock out "with the band." The problem is that "the band" mostly consists of bad indie artists. Hans Erberbach's version of Georgia is just awful.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2020-10-08*

The first version of JamBandit was a delight to use and a serious musical contribution -a credit to the founder of the underlying algorithms.

I have no idea what the developers had in mind with the current version, but it seems to be a trivial, superficial toy with minimal functionality.
It would be great to see the previous version reinstated -maybe ‘jambandit classic’

### 2/5 — Ehh

*2014-11-18*

You have to buy all access to really enjoy this app

### 2/5 — Just a bit of fun

*2013-10-16, version 1.1*

This is great if you have no musical knowledge whatsoever, you can sound like you know what your doing. But for the serious musician I find this app quite annoying, you get a melody in your head but when you go to play it the notes have all changed under your fingertips and it slaps you back in the face! I'd love to have the ability to lock the scale and keep all of the notes on the screen.
Also the ability to use this app as an audiobus input or output would make it phenomenal, the opportunity to record some of the incredible sounds on this thing into a DAW while running it through different effects, and also to play other instruments such as Morphwiz along to the backing tracks, wouldn't that be incredible! MIDI input and output would be fantastic too!

Overall I think this app has the sound quality it needs and the potential to be a powerful musical tool, but it's been too focused on the untrained ear, and needs a bit more for the real musician.

### 3/5 — Ok...I don’t know how to access all the instruments I purchased

*2020-12-02*

Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see how clicking on the guitar gets me to any new set of instruments I tried long pressing all of them but to no avail perhaps I have to have a song that uses these instruments I don’t know it’s really fun pretty fun not really fun ha ha I paid for instruments and I don’t know how to access them

### 3/5 — Better than Smule ..kinda

*2015-05-29*

Just downloaded this app and think it's brilliant👏 my only complaint is not able to record longer version to be shared😞 I suppose I would need to purchase to get that kind of freedom. But regardless of that beautifully done!

### 3/5 — Good but needs developing

*2013-04-17, version 1.0.3*

As it is, this app is good quality but limited in what it can do. I am more interested in creating my own music and therefore not so interested in the add-on music tracks. What it really needs is AudioBus (ideally) or AudioCopy to be able to use the solos in other compositions. Can you define the notes/scales used with the Access Pack? It is not clear. But the sounds themselves are very good, so lots of potential for the future.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best jamming music app I own!

*2015-11-20*

Great app! Not possible to play wrong notes based on the song. I wish I could download more instruments like I do with Thumbjam. Also I would like to use my own or any track to solo with. One last suggestion: please add an arpeggiator function.

### 5/5 — Super fantastic

*2014-07-08, version 1.1.1*

Download this and you won't be sorry. Hours of fun. Play music in a new and easy way. You don't have to know how to play an instrument or read music. Great for children.
I LOVE this app!

### 5/5 — Extraordinarily good!!

*2014-04-24, version 1.1.1*

This is a stunning bit of technology!

### 5/5 — A work of art!

*2014-01-27, version 1.1.1*

Genius. Lots of fun.

### 5/5 — Remarkable

*2014-01-20*

A fluid experience and something I've been looking for for nearly 20 years since I imagined a similar concept. For non-musicians, this is a brilliant tool for feeling part of the music and creating new variations of your own. Wicked good

### 5/5 — Magnif Sounds, Easy To Sound Incredible, & Fun

*2013-12-27*

Beautiful sounds on the iPad, so easy to play, a little tough to be "perfect" hitting individual notes. I love being able to play good chords versus single notes. Real musicians will enjoy the choices of instruments. Downside is every little extra song or sound is at least 99 cents, and the music being played along with determine notes available. That or you only have piano white key notes with no accidental sort on purposes! Ha! A sharp/flat note joke. I really enjoy this app more than all the dozens I've suffered with from The App Store so far.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2013-10-11*

Smartly done. Our kids love it. So do we.

### 5/5 — Fun, Smart App

*2013-08-22*

I'm a bit of a dabbler in music instruments, and a big fan of many genres of music. This one is so much fun. The visuals are cool, but the entire underlying engine is what boggles my mind. Am I John Coltrane or what?

### 5/5 — Sick App

*2013-06-27*

This app is going to be the future of music. This is sick.

### 5/5 — Worth more than gold

*2013-04-22, version 1.0.3*

Forever romantic
