### 1/5 — Did MOE test this first or not???

*2026-05-06, version 5.2.2*

Doesn’t work lah oyy

### 1/5 — Perte de l’accès quand on en a besoin

*2026-05-04, version 5.2.2*

*2026-04-20, version 5.2.2*

### 1/5 — Help!

*2026-03-06, version 5.2.0*

This app needs serious attention. What good is a parental control app that doesn’t allow us to control a single thing? Please fix it!

*2026-03-06, version 5.2.0*

### 1/5 — Absolute Schrott App

*2026-03-01, version 5.1.5*

*2026-02-23, version 5.1.5*

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-02-12, version 5.1.5*

This is a very poorly designed app. The parental control function simply does not work properly. Even when I set a usage time limit for a specific application, the app only counts down, and after the time is up and the limit is reached, my child can still use it without any restriction. It is completely useless. Very bad.

### 1/5 — Pire design EVER !!!!

*2026-02-11, version 5.1.5*

Fuyez, pauvres fous !!!

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work

*2026-01-27, version 5.1.4*

This app’s functions and titles for said functions was designed by someone dyslectic or someone who doesn’t fully understand its functions. “Restricted” only applies to certain apps, not all, “Allowed apps” doesn’t appear to overwrite any of the previously created rules below, and when you set device rules, the timer doesn’t remember what you previously configured and automatically puts the current time. This is really bad. And I’ve been told we’re not allowed to remove my child’s PLD from this sorry profile, because it’s MOE policy. Change this to something that works, or fix it. What’s the point of banning phones during school hours when the PLD is so poorly controlled? The poor state of control over the PLD in school is pathetic, causing more problems than any benefits it brings. Epic fail. Also, not reporting on my child’s usage patterns.

### 1/5 — Peu logique et peu fiable

*2026-01-07, version 5.1.2*

### 1/5 — Improve the app

*2025-12-27, version 5.1.1*

If this is the government recommended app to supervise children’s devices a major upgrade is required. The app is user unfriendly and is glitching now without the ability to add new websites for access. MOE please find another partner to work with.

### 1/5 — Warum?

*2025-12-26, version 5.1.1*

Hab keine Freizeit mehr, geile App

### 1/5 — Quel Bordel !!!!

*2025-12-08, version 5.1.1*

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-12-05, version 5.1.1*

I’ll re-rate this if I can figure out how to make anything work. I downloaded this yesterday as per the school’s instructions. I first went to try to restrict YouTube by URL, but the app doesn’t save the URLs I put in the restricted column, even though I hit the button… and then retry and retry. So I can’t block individual websites…
Next, there’s a section where you can enable restricting certain categories of apps. I clicked to restrict Safari, in total. But, nope, my kid was screwing around on it when he should have been doing t homework.
Since those didn’t work, I went to the spot where I can restrict apps based on time of day. I found Safari and told it to always be blocked. This seemed to work momentarily; until another app had a link that opened Safari for me anyway.
Also, I wanted to block Sandboxels and a few other games the Games category didn’t seem to block these, but the apps weren’t even available to select in the app list.
So, so far seems like garbage. But I’ll bother the school IT guy and maybe he will help solve the issues… maybe…
As noted, I’ll update if anything improves and try to give some pointers.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible experience, cannot set any restrictions or rule. Failed as the apps.

*2026-08-02, version 5.2.5*

Super user-unfriendly. Very hard to understand each function by just reading the labels. The device rules and restrictions fail to work on child’s PLD- which means the only purpose of this apps’ existence FAILS. The whole setting just messed up: Ipad freeze, apps disappear out of nowhere, timing settings go haywire in a weird way against the intent. As a result, children who are only 12 end up using the Ipad uncontrollably while parents cannot do anything to help them. Very frustrating indeed, but we as parents and children are stuck in the same situation everyday.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2026-06-28, version 5.2.4*

For this App to be useful it needs time limits. I.e. Allow 30 minutes of games or YouTube after school. Apple controls can’t do this without also applying during school time. So the only option to Parents is to use the Apple option. But then while at school if being used by a teacher then the kids have to ask for more time and just hope one parent can respond quickly while at work!

### 1/5 — Not working and not intuitive

*2026-06-27, version 5.2.4*

For more than a month, the app has not been working. Only shows error msg. Before it stopped working, the design was really bad. It was not clear how any setup affected the ipad. Had to do by trial and error. Even then, the outcome was never consistent. Very frustrating and badly affects my child’s learning and leisure times. UX/UI design really needs a re-think badly.

### 1/5 — Cannot apply restrictions

*2026-06-21, version 5.2.4*

This app doesn’t work at all. They’ve insisted our children use iPads at school and that the MOE in its infinite wisdom be the one to decide what restrictions are set on it and at what time. However, in reality it basically has no restrictions and children can use it all day to play games. When you try to set up rules through the app, which is supposed to let parents manage their kids’ screen time, it doesn’t work. The restrictions cannot be applied.

### 1/5 — Complete disaster

*2026-06-09, version 5.2.4*

This is absolutely impossible to use. So far I’ve managed to blocking everything or nothing, and then only after fighting counterintuitive instructions which are as clear as mud. Clearly written by developers with no kids and not enough expertise to work for companies who know how to design user friendly apps. Like the native apple software which is intuitive and functional. Probably perfectly designed for a UK council has no interest in parental controls or kids screentime.

*2026-05-28, version 5.2.4*

### 1/5 — Absolut ungeeignet

*2026-05-18, version 5.2.3*

*2026-05-16, version 5.2.3*

### 1/5 — Funktioniert nicht

*2026-05-14, version 5.2.3*

Null Stern!!
Was machen die Entwickler eigentlich?

*2026-05-13, version 5.2.2*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — R

*2020-11-16, version 4.2.0*

Cool

### 4/5 — Device rules setting

*2025-02-11, version 4.3.7*

Please allow editing of a device rule rather than having to delete and recreate it.

### 4/5 — This app has helped us a lot.

*2020-06-20, version 4.1.0*

We had approached the school with concerns about the amount of gaming time our 12 year old was using in between his school work, before and after school. The only way we had of managing it was to remove the device from his possession, which led to no end of trouble from him. The school told us about the app. We have been using the it for two weeks now and it has transformed our family in that time, hence my 4 star rating.

I do find that it needs a lot of manual input to keep the permissions to where you need them at any one time period.

I have got a bit confused with it, as safari and mail did not seem to be available and I couldn’t understand why when I was ticking it to be available. I stumbled across another page (restrict app functionality) within the app that had safari and mail disabled, and once released, the apps became available on my son’s iPad.

It turns out there are three ways of enabling/disabling apps, but if you disable an app or category on one page, when you go into the page where you allow access to apps, the disabled apps appear on the page seemingly available. If access to an app is disabled elsewhere in the app, surely it would make sense for it NOT to show up on the list of apps to enable. It’s the same as giving him permission to access some games, we realised by trial and error that both the ‘games’ and ‘entertainment’ categories needed to be enabled before the games were accessible.

I am willing to allow my son access to certain games during the school day, to do this I have to allow access to ‘games’ and ‘entertainment’ categories. I then go to the ‘enable app lock’ page, and give him permission to access selected apps during the school day. Once this timer is finished, it reverts back to allowing him access to all games, unless we manually reset the permissions to remove the game access. It would REALLY help us if we could set it up in advance so that his game access is locked off at a set time, like his PS4 where we can set the times of day the game is available as well as the maximum time he is allowed to spend on it.

I would like to suggest another improvement, if the enable app lock is set up with the timer and you need to go back into that page to make and changes, sometimes the whole page resets itself. It forces you to go through the whole list from scratch, including resetting the timer, which defaults back to 30minutes as soon as the page is opened. This is something I had to do multiple times yesterday and has been a tedious process. Is this an unintended issue? If so, it needs fixing.

Overall I think this app is amazing, it has seriously transformed our family life in just two weeks, but it needs some elements working on to make it more ‘parent friendly’. Keep up the good work 👍 We, as parents, need all the help we can get to manage online time, especially at the moment!

### 4/5 — Good start

*2019-10-09, version 3.0.0*

Not bad for their first iteration. REALLY missing ability to blacklist URLS.

### 2/5 — Application mal traduite et de basse qualité

*2026-01-25, version 5.1.4*

A revoir.

### 2/5 — So Confusing!

*2025-06-18, version 4.4.3*

All I need is to restrict access to the devise after a certain time at night. Can I do that? Nope! Can’t seem to find a way

### 2/5 — No activity monitoring

*2025-03-26, version 4.4.0*

Terrible for monitoring activity (not possible). All or nothing in terms of app blocking - no option to be selective. Rearranges apps on home screen when apps are restored

### 2/5 — Hard to use

*2024-10-14, version 4.3.3*

I often can’t update rules, even outside school hours. It would be great if I could update rules during school hours for them to update later.
Very slow to change after updating on parent app on the students device.
