## What is JamTheory?

JamTheory helps guitar players stop guessing and start improvising.

Choose a root note, scale, style, tuning, capo position, and fret count. JamTheory uses those choices to find Apple Music backing tracks that fit your practice session, then highlights the matching notes across an interactive guitar fretboard.

Instead of practicing scales in isolation, you can connect a musical idea to a real track and immediately see where to play.

JamTheory includes:

- Apple Music backing-track discovery by key, style, and scale
- Interactive guitar fretboard with highlighted root and scale notes
- Major, minor, pentatonic, blues, modes, and additional scales
- Multiple guitar tunings and capo positions
- 21, 22, and 24 fret views
- Optional note labels and root-note focus
- Built-in guitar tuner with automatic and manual modes
- Circle of Fifths with relative major and minor guidance
- Favorite backing tracks
- iCloud-synced settings and favorites

JamTheory is designed for beginner and intermediate guitarists, self-taught players, students, and anyone who wants a clearer target while practicing lead guitar and improvisation.

An Apple Music subscription is required for backing-track discovery and playback. The fretboard, scale tools, tuner, Circle of Fifths, and practice settings remain available without Apple Music playback. JamTheory has no additional subscription or in-app purchases.
