## What is JantakuAR?

Take Your Mahjong Table Anywhere.

Jantaku AR is a Riichi Mahjong app that turns a real table into a shared virtual mahjong table using augmented reality.

Place a marker on the table and scan it with your iPhone. A 3D mahjong table appears in AR, and up to four players can share the same table from their own seats. Tiles, discards, scores, and game progress are synchronized in real time.

You can also practice alone in 3D mode without an AR marker. Coaching and beginner-friendly support help you choose discards based on your strategy and improve your understanding of Riichi Mahjong.

MAIN FEATURES

• Shared AR mahjong table for up to four players
• Up to four iPhones connected over a local network

• Play with 1 to 4 human players
• Automatic dealing, draws, discards, calls, wins, and score calculation
• Supports Riichi, Chi, Pon, Kan, Ron, and Tsumo
• Competitive and standard rule settings
• Digital score display for every player

SINGLE-PLAYER 3D MODE

RESULTS AND GAME REVIEW

Played hands are automatically recorded.

Statistics from your most recent 200 hands include win rate, deal-in rate, Riichi rate, call rate, tenpai rate at exhaustive draws, average winning score, and overall score balance.

With Hand Replay, you can review your decisions one discard at a time and compare the tile you actually discarded with the recommended choice. Shanten count and improvement tiles are also shown to help you understand why another choice may be stronger.

Records from shared games are available to participating players, so each player can review results from their own seat.

NO PHYSICAL TABLE OR TILES REQUIRED

You do not need an automatic mahjong table or a physical set of tiles.

With a table and an iPhone, Jantaku AR creates a virtual mahjong table in AR. Players gather around the same real table and share the same virtual game.

Move around the table and the view changes naturally, just like sitting around a real mahjong table.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-02

ALSO IN THIS VERSION

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-30

NEW: A COACH FOR YOUR DISCARDS (solo play)

Tap the hat button on your turn and the coach shows three tiles worth
discarding, each with the reason: how many tiles you accept, whether it
reaches tenpai, what it costs you in dora or shape, and whether declaring
riichi is worth it. When a riichi is out, it also reads the danger —
discarded tiles, suji, no-chance walls, and how many of an honour are
already visible. Ask it about calls too, and take its suggestion in one tap.

Choose from five playing styles — Balanced, Big hand, Closed hand, Calling,
and Defensive — and the coach's answers change with the style you pick.

NEW: SOLO GAMES WITHOUT THE CAMERA

Pick "3D (screen only)" on the seating screen of a solo game and the whole
hand runs on your screen — no table to point at, and no marker to print.
Three zoom steps, and you can swing the angle with a finger. Useful on the
move, or anywhere you can't set a table down.
Games with other players still use AR and the printed marker, so that every
device agrees on where the table sits.

MORE RULES

• New "WRC 2025 Rules (International)" preset
• Uma and oka placement points, worked out and shown in the final results
• Pao (liability payment) for Big Dragons, Big Winds and Four Quads
• Swap-calling is now forbidden

A STRONGER AI

Reworked how the AI decides to push or fold, when to call, and which tile
to let go of when it gives up on the hand.

A CLEARER START TO THE FREE TRIAL

Your free hand now begins when you tap the dice. Simply looking at the
table no longer uses up today's hand.

ENGLISH SUPPORT

The app is now fully in English. Yaku names follow the terminology of the
European Mahjong Association.

ALSO IN THIS VERSION

• Better detection and recovery from low memory and GPU errors
• Steadier reconnection, and a clean redraw when you return to the app
• Tidier end-of-game results screen
• A confirmation before closing rule settings with unsaved changes
