### 5/5 — Jan for the win!

*2026-06-26*

A1C went from 6.3 to 5.1 in a year by following Jan’s information. The weight loss was just a bonus.

Jan helped me dial in my diet without giving up the foods I crave, spiking glucose, or blowing macros.

Jan also spoiled me on AI coaches. A great balance of AI without the noise and endless do-loop many AI coaches offer (looking at you Google Health). Feedback is always on target and actionable.

I’ve been using the free version for the past year and have met or exceeded my personal goals. Will be upgrading to get on the other side of the paywall to keep making progress.

Thanks Jan!!

### 3/5 — Wanted to love it

*2026-03-20*

I really wanted to love this product. The nutrition advice seems sound. But you can’t get the full benefits without agreeing to sync up your health records, which given how many data leaks there are nowadays I’ve just I’m not comfortable doing. Too bad. I wish you could manually input your exercise as well. Which also requires thinking your apple health. It all just feels a little too invasive unfortunately it’s not going to work for me.

### 5/5 — Great app for getting healthy

*2026-01-24*

Been using this app for about three months now. It’s a great way to really see and make you aware of what your putting in your body. So far I have dropped 18 pounds. I would like to see though the app be able to connect to my Dexcom G7 glucose monitor. Also it would be great if it gave the ability to track more foods in grams v.s. cups, as I measure out most of my food that way.

### 1/5 — Ugh

*2026-01-11, version 1.7.56*

I really enjoyed this until I got a new phone. I can’t open it and I can’t get in touch with anybody.

### 3/5 — Not quite there

*2025-10-13*

January has a good start and it is trying to do something other calorie tracking apps don’t, by identifying what foods you eat might lead to glucose spikes and how to address those spikes.

But the app needs to mature more. First, most food items only have a single unit of entry. There needs to be more flexibility to enter each item using oz, grams, or tablespoons , cups or servings. About 30% let you do that. The rest force you to use a single unit (often cups or servings), thus you have to make conversions in your mind to figure it out.

Second, custom recipe creation is a disaster. You can’t add ingredients by scanning, the recipe serving size calculations are all messed up. For example, I make my own bread which makes 15 slices. Try to enter all the ingredients and choose a serving size of 15. When you try to add a slice to your meal, sometimes it will add 1/15th, sometimes it adds the whole thing. It never works consistently.

Same problem with copying food items from one meal to next. Sometimes it copies the units correctly, sometimes it resets it to a single serving.

And the response time on ingredient addition is too slow. It takes quite a few seconds for the new macro numbers to be calculated every time you change the serving size. There is too much lag to let you enter
Multiple ingredients quickly.

Finally, the AI. The idea is good, to have AI interpret your numbers and give you positive encouragement and useful suggestions. But it is not quite there. While it recognizes some of the foods you eat and gives you positive encouragement based on them, the suggestions it gives remains limited and generic. Too much sugar in your last meal? It will tell you to cut down on sugary drinks, even though I didn’t enter a single sugary drink in the past week. Not enough protein? It will tell you to add a chicken breast, some lentils or beans to your meals, even if your last meal was a chicken breast with a side of beans.

Finally, it also doesn’t show you a tally of your meal (how many calories was my dinner?). You can only see totally for the day, or add all the individual components of your meal manually.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-10-09, version 1.7.50*

I didn’t think it would work, but it really does and it’s really fun to discover the things about your food

### 2/5 — Toni

*2025-08-25, version 1.7.49*

This app is not correct regarding the glucose reaction to foods. It states that meat, water, ice etc cause spikes in glucose! This is totally incorrect. I’ve reported it to customer service weeks ago and it’s still not accurate. It’s totally useless the way it is!

### 2/5 — Not Supporting Type one

*2025-07-17, version 1.7.44*

I finally kind of strange, that there’s an app that can predict how your blood sugar reacts with what you eat, except for type one diabetes and only that. I’m just not sure why it was even released when it works with type 2, prediabetes, and other chronic illnesses that can be impacted from blood sugar, just not type 1 diabetes?? Seems like you’re missing out on large portion of people.

### 1/5 — Does not support diabetic users

*2025-06-17, version 1.7.38*

I was very disappointed to download this app and learn that it does not support users with diabetes, or those who take insulin. I guess it’s more important to chase the current trends than to support people who actually have to monitor their glucose for the rest of their life. How hard would it be to at least offer tracking and logging functionality to diabetics rather than boot them off the app as soon as we select the diabetic option?

### 1/5 — No customer service

*2025-05-18, version 1.7.35*

I got logged out during my trial period and just assumed that meant I was cancelled. I wasn’t, got charged and there is no way to ask for a refund
