## What is Japan Local Radio?

Japan Local Radio brings Japan's community FM stations and NHK Radio together in one simple player. Browse by region, search in Japanese or English, and tap play.

WHERE YOU CAN LISTEN — PLEASE READ
Many Japanese broadcasters allow listening only from inside Japan. The app checks this when it starts and lists only the stations that will actually play where you are:
• In Japan: about 170 stations, including NHK Radio and some 140 community FM stations on the JCBA community radio network.
• Outside Japan: about a dozen stations that allow overseas listening, such as AFN Tokyo, FM Setagaya and Kamakura FM. NHK and the JCBA community stations cannot be heard outside Japan. This restriction is set by the broadcasters, not by the app.
Which stations are available is decided by each broadcaster and may change.

HOW STATIONS PLAY
Stations that publish a public stream play directly in the app. JCBA community stations play in the broadcaster's own web player, opened inside the app and marked "Web player". The app does not host, record or rebroadcast any audio: every stream comes straight from the broadcaster.

Japan Local Radio is an independent app and is not affiliated with NHK, JCBA, AFN or any broadcaster.
