This App is a supplementary study material complementing the Japanese for Busy People I textbook. Each lesson consists of the following segments: •WORD POWER •TARGET DIALOGUE •SHORT DIALOGUE(S) •ADDITIONAL STUDIES •QUIZ •A BREAK •SETTINGS *Choose Hiragana or Roma-ji setting on each page. WORD POWER Word Power is an electronic "flash cards" with sound feature for pronunciation. Check off Memorized, once you learn a word. You can later come back and study just the words you have yet to memorize or all of the words in the lesson. Go to Play and choose auto to automatically scroll through images accompanied by sound. Slide the green button to change the setting. TARGET DIALOGUE Study the Target Dialogue using adjustable playback speed. SHORT DIALOGUE(S) Study the Short Dialogue(s) using adjustable playback speed. ADDITIONAL STUDIES This segment includes additional and important materials not covered in the Word Power, Target Dialogue, and Short Dialogue(s) segments. QUIZ Take the Quiz on what you have learned. Repeat until you get all the answers right. You can also go back to review the incorrect answers. A BREAK Take a break and enjoy photos of Japanese sceneries. SETTINGS The following settings are available:
・Default Hiragana or Roma-ji display in the Target Dialogue, Short Dialogue, and Quiz segments
・Word Power auto play speed
・Clearing the words checked off in Word Power

Waste of money! ### 1/5 — Audio does not work *2023-07-06, version 2.0.0* As the other reviewer said, the audio does not work on iPhone. It has worked in the past on and off but now it doesn’t work at all. It used to only work if using earphones, but now never. It is not a useful app which is disappointing as it’s supposed to support the text book that I purchased. Should be refunded honestly, does not deliver the service I paid for. ### 1/5 — No Audio *2023-07-01* Could not get audio to work (iPhone 12, iOS 16.5). Don’t waste your time & money. Audio, however, does work with the revised 4th edition of this app. ### 5/5 — Audio Works Well! *2023-06-13* Audio is working just fine. Give this little app a try especially if using with the book. I find it a most useful and convenient complement to the book — well worth the price. I’m very surprised it’s technologically so poor because in Japan technology works - ticket machines, vending machines etc. Very strange that the problem hasn’t been resolved. It can’t be that hard to correct the sound problem because many apps use sound without issue. ### 5/5 — Sound *2022-07-14* You need to turn on the sound, that is one thing to remember but otherwise very good app. ### 1/5 — Audio doesn’t work *2021-10-26* The listening comprehension exercises and the audio tracks to go with the text book are why one would purchase this app. The app’s audio is broken.
