## What is Japanese Kanji & Vocab Drill?

A drill for the words and kanji you actually need -- not test prep, not gamified fluff.

- Vocabulary meaning (4-choice)
- Kanji reading & writing (always tested inside a real word, using genuine dictionary readings, never made-up ones)
- Verb and adjective conjugation, with wrong answers built from real learner mistakes
- Listening, with hand-written scripts read aloud by your device's Japanese voice

[Our own 5-Level system]
This app does not use the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test's levels. We built our own Level 1-5 from two public sources: kanji school-grade data and newspaper word-frequency data. Every Level's exact scope is shown in full inside the app -- no vague "beginner/intermediate" labels.

[Built from real dictionaries, not guesses]
Every word, reading, and kanji comes from the JMdict and KANJIDIC public dictionary projects (CC BY-SA license, full attribution inside the app's Sources screen). Wrong answers are generated and cross-checked by rules, not by AI, so a wrong answer is always a real, defensible Japanese word, never nonsense.

[Honest about what it isn't]
Mock test results are a self-referential score within this app's own Levels. They say nothing about passing or failing any official Japanese exam.
