## What is Jarwise?

Can with confidence. Jarwise turns tested USDA canning guidelines into a clear, step-by-step session, with processing times and pressures adjusted for your altitude.

Choose a food, enter or detect your elevation, and Jarwise shows the right method, time and pressure. It walks you through every step, runs the timer, helps you check your seals, and saves the batch to your journal and pantry, so you always know what is on the shelf.

WHY HOME CANNERS CHOOSE JARWISE
• Safe by design: low-acid foods always go to the pressure canner, never the water bath.
• Altitude done for you: times and pressures move up to the next safe bracket, in feet or meters, with GPS detection.
• Made for beginners: plain-language steps and a glossary for words like headspace and venting.
• Private and offline: no account, no ads, no tracking. Your data stays on your iPhone.

WHAT'S INSIDE
• 30 tested recipes: tomatoes, salsa, dill pickles, pickled beets, peaches, pears, applesauce, berries, green beans, corn, carrots, potatoes, dried beans, chicken, beef, broth and more, with hot- and raw-pack options.
• Water bath and pressure canning calculator for dial and weighted gauges.
• Guided session: choose jars, check your equipment, vent, process, cool and record the result.
• Processing timer that keeps time and alerts you, even when the app is closed.
• Seal check after cooling, with a simple sealed or not sealed record.
• Canning journal: date, jar size and count, lot, notes and photos for every batch.
• Pantry tracker: jars left, where they are stored and their best-by dates, with reminders.
• Printable jar labels and household sharing by file or QR code.
• Backup and restore, light and dark mode, and more than 40 languages.

BUILT ON TRUSTED SOURCES
Processing times and pressures follow the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning (Agriculture Information Bulletin No. 539) and the National Center for Home Food Preservation. Every recipe links to its source so you can double-check.

No subscription. No ads. No account.

IMPORTANT
Jarwise is a planning and timing aid. Always follow a current tested recipe, your canner manufacturer's instructions and local food safety guidance. Improperly canned low-acid foods can cause botulism.
