## What is JavaSnipt?

A NoScript equivalent for Safari!

This app blocks JavaScript on any website. It blocks most:

• Ads
• Newsletter popups
• Cookie requests
• Wasted megabytes of third-party JavaScript libraries

When you encounter a website with too much JavaScript, just tap share → JavaSnipt → refresh, and voilà! No more interactivity.

Alternatively, you can use JavaSnipt to block JavaScript on *all* websites and allow only sites you trust. It's up to you!

Some sites, like YouTube, will not work with JavaScript blocked. That's why JavaSnipt targets only sites you select.

By purchasing JavaSnipt for iOS, you will also unlock JavaSnipt for macOS. Your blocked sites sync between all your devices via iCloud.

The web has too many popups and third-party scripts. It wasn't designed to respect your privacy, battery life, data cap or phone-sized screen. Take back control with JavaSnipt.

(The crab is Snippy, our mascot. Think of this app as him snipping away the extra JavaScript!)

## Key features

- Blocks JavaScript on websites
- Removes ads and popups
- Reduces third-party script usage
- Selective site blocking
- Global site blocking option
- iCloud sync across devices

### 5/5 — Must have Safari extension! Should be under top 10 utility for privacy!

*2026-02-10*

Tried 3 other Safari extension alternatives and none work as they should. This app just works. Very user friendly. Can whitelist from Safari in 2 clicks. Note: Extension won't show up in Safari menu but is enabled if you enabled it from Settings Apps > Safari > Extensions

### 3/5 — Broken in iOS

*2026-01-12*

I'm looking for an app that allows me to block JavaScript on all websites with whitelisting to allow exceptions. Javasnipt looked promising but has bugs. It partly but does not completely block JavaScript. Also, when I use the share function to add a website to the whitelist, I get an error. Adding websites to the whitelist manually through the app works but is not convenient. I hope the developer can fix these problems.

**Developer response:** I’m sorry to hear that! Could you email nazariosoftwarellc@gmail.com with what the error is?

### 5/5 — It works

*2025-12-17*

Simple and easy to use.
Tried another app and it was too complicated to be useful. This one is fast and intuitive ... Thank you

### 5/5 — Superb

*2024-10-17*

I wanted to block JavaScript on one site. This app does it perfectly.

Install, enable the extension in Safari settings, add a domain (or multiple domains), choose whether JavaSnipt should block or allow Java to run on the listed domains.

Instant result. Thanks.

### 1/5 — App doesn't work

*2023-09-27*

I added a site to Block JS On Listed Sites, but it is also showing in the Allow JS on Listed Sites. So is it really blocking or allowing? I don't see any difference to the site to be honest. I'm running Safari on MacOS v14.

**Developer response:** Ken, sorry the UI wasn’t clear. JavaSnipt blocks JS on listed sites if you click that option. If you click Allow on These Sites, it’ll block JS everywhere except the listed sites.

If you have any other questions, please reach out to me at nazariosoftwarellc@gmail.com. Hope that helps!

### 5/5 — Works great

*2023-08-06*

Those of us who need this product and understand it’s purpose recognize the value it adds to online safety and battery life. Works absolutely great. Thank you for maintaining this!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind review!

### 2/5 — Breaking websites including gmail and imgur

*2022-12-10*

I’m unable to use important websites such as gmail and imgur without completely dialing content blockers or the JavaSnipt extension.

I’ve isolated it to this one extension by disabling all others, the websites remain non functional until JavaSnipt is disabled.

I purchased JavaSnipt over StopTheMadness, which was on sale because JavaSnipt seemed like a far more practical solution but choosing between disabling all content blockers, disabling JavaSnipt completely or using gmail is not an acceptable solution.

**Developer response:** Hello, I’m sorry you are having trouble. JavaSnipt only blocks JS on the sites you have added to it. I recommend opening the app, tapping “Block JS on Listed Sites,” and deleting any sites on which you wish JavaScript to run, such as Gmail or YouTube.

Please feel free to reach out to my email nazariosoftwarellc@gmail.com. I am happy to explain how to use the app, since it is built to solve the exact problem you are facing.

### 4/5 — Does what it says

*2022-10-08, version 1.3.1*

Brilliant, highly recommended. A few glitches in the UI toolbar button, and a few crashes. Otherwise it works very well.

### 1/5 — does not work

*2022-09-14*

i wanted this app to stop drudge report from auto refreshing and it did not work

**Developer response:** Ken, can you email nazariosoftwarellc@gmail.com? I’d be happy to help figure out any issues you’re running into.

### 3/5 — one critical missing feature, one bug

*2022-07-16*

missing feature: third-party JS blocking. Run JS for *.example.com while browsing example.com, but not on any other sites. Would instantly address about 95% of ad and tracking issues.

GIANT BUG (for me, anyway): if JavaSnipt is enabled, 1Password doesn't work correctly in-browser. I know the 1P extension uses javascript to function; a whitelist for internal, non-Internet-loaded JS sources (i.e., other extensiosn) is essential, or I can't use this extension. =\

**Developer response:** This feature is available! Open the JavaSnipt app and click "Allow These." Now, only sites listed in the app will allow JS.

Also, sorry to hear you've had issues using it with 1Password. I just tested it and it works for me.
