### 4/5 — LOVE The App, NOT a Fan of a Recent Change..

*2026-08-22*

Jayson, my go-to tool for viewing and verifying JSON in Shortcuts development, has always been well-designed, reliable, and feature-packed. Its smooth, aesthetically pleasing, and intuitive UI extends these aspects to Shortcuts.

However, my only complaint about the recent major update (v1.5.0) is the change to the ‘view JSON’ Shortcuts action. Before the update, this action allowed users to send or view input JSON to or in the App itself or via a notification. I used the notification option to open JSON text seamlessly, without interrupting my workflow. Shortcuts continued running, and I could view or exit JSON in the App anytime by tapping the notification. I could also preview JSON directly from the notification by long-pressing it.

Unfortunately, the update removed the option to open JSON in a notification, making the only way to view JSON by leaving Shortcuts and opening the Jayson App. While this change doesn’t make the App unusable, it negatively impacts its implementation and overall utility for Shortcuts development.

Lastly, I want to clarify: all new features/changes in the recent update are great! I’ll continue using Jayson in most future Shortcut builds.

Despite my complaint, I highly recommend Jayson to anyone who regularly deals with JSON text on iOS, especially via Shortcuts.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Browser support

*2025-04-13, version 1.4.2*

App use to work on safari…I don’t know if it’s just my phone or new update but I am no longer seeing it

### 1/5 — No

*2024-12-08, version 1.4.2*

This app froze my whole phone up for like 10 minutes

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE!

*2022-11-08*

By far the worst customer service I’ve ever had. I got the app and even paid the Money for the upgraded service and I can’t use it at all because I genuinely don’t understand it and I have messaged the app several times and I have messaged the creator several times and not one reply for days! I don’t understand how you pay for a app and can’t get any help. I would give zero stars

### 1/5 — Desesperante

*2022-01-06, version 1.4.2*

Funcionaba perfectamente y ahora no sirve para nada, se traba completamente en IOS 15 y no permite abrir los archivos JSON para editarlos

### 1/5 — Worthless.

*2021-11-21, version 1.4.2*

Terrible UI, lacks any features that would actually make it useful. It’s easier to just work with JSON in a text editor.

### 1/5 — No Text Editing

*2021-10-05*

I didn’t find a way to edit the code directly, that makes it quite bothersome to create a new document efficiently.

Update: Crashes a lot on iOS 15

### 1/5 — Can’t find search

*2021-10-02, version 1.4.1*

Useless

### 1/5 — Poor

*2021-03-28*

Terrible file navigation. Can’t do much of anything without premium. No plain text editor. Avoid.

### 1/5 — Snoops into pasteboard

*2021-02-12, version 1.4.1*

I was browsing twitter and hadn’t launched this app in aged and suddenly I got a notification that Jayson has snooped into my pasteboard. Not cool, uninstalled

### 2/5 — Hm

*2021-08-23*

Why can’t I write code. In the app is no tutorial what wich button does.

  }
}

*2024-09-28*

Searched far and wide for a simple app that would just allow viewing json in Safari similar to how it is viewed on a desktop. This app hit the mark and exceeded it! This is a life saver!!

### 5/5 — めちゃくちゃ使いやすい

機能がかなり網羅されており、UIも直感的でバグがなく使いやすいです
