Jazi Connect Teens AAC is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed primarily for nonverbal, nonspeaking, minimally verbal, and speech-delayed teens who need another way to communicate. Every teen deserves a way to express their wants, needs, feelings, choices, and thoughts. Jazi Connect Teens provides a simple visual communication system using realistic picture cards, spoken words and phrases, and age-appropriate categories created with teens in mind. WHO IS JAZI CONNECT TEENS FOR? Jazi Connect Teens can support teens with many different communication needs, including teens who are: • Nonverbal or nonspeaking • Minimally verbal • Speech delayed • Autistic • Living with Down syndrome • Living with cerebral palsy • Experiencing apraxia of speech • Living with developmental or intellectual disabilities • Deaf or hard of hearing • Using AAC as a primary or additional way to communicate • More comfortable communicating visually A specific diagnosis is not required. REAL COMMUNICATION. Jazi Connect Teens uses clear, realistic images instead of childlike graphics, creating an AAC experience designed for older kids and teens. Teens can use visual cards to communicate when speaking is difficult or unavailable. Whether they need to say “I need help,” “I’m overwhelmed,” “I need a break,” “I don’t understand,” “My head hurts,” or “I want to go home,” Jazi Connect Teens gives them another way to be understood. DEAF & HARD-OF-HEARING COMMUNICATION Jazi Connect Teens also includes communication tools for Deaf and hard-of-hearing teens. Cards include phrases such as “I’m Deaf,” “I’m hard of hearing,” “I use sign language,” “Please face me,” “I need captions,” “Please write it down,” “Can you text me?” and “I need an interpreter.” These tools can help with communication at school, appointments, restaurants, stores, social situations, emergencies, and other everyday environments.
