They really are a lot more fun to jam with than typical drum machines. That said, I feel like I’m probably missing a lot because of the absence of documentation. For example, it took me watching a video regarding iBassist to figure out how to sync the apps. I’m also at the point where my interpretation of the jam controls is essentially just more means more stuff going on. (Knocked this down from a perfect rating for the unlabeled controls in the jam page. Familiarity with Reggae Drummer offered clues but I disliked guessing in an otherwise polished app when there was obviously space available.) If I want to move past playing with the preset patterns, some guidance would help. ### 4/5 — very useful *2026-05-11, version 1.24* useable drums, with midi and audio export. It's still very useful and good for people who wanna save time, or are bad at programming drums. very simple to edit and you can add fills manually.. I like it. OMG this app is 1000 times better than anything else. You can edit complexity, styles, fills, etc. So much fun playing along instead of a 2-4 metronome. I want my old (high-value) purchases to receive the AUV3 update. It's the least they can do for their existing customers. As one of the more expensive drum apps out there this is really unacceptable, I’m not in the habit of leaving negative reviews as I know how detrimental they can be for developers but having reported the issue to Lumbeats and having received no response after several days I feel it is warranted and shall be seeking a refund. ### 1/5 — no documentation makes it too difficult *2020-03-19, version 1.03* The app is complicated and expensive, so it’s outrageous that there is no documentation anywhere. Too busy with one major flaw. *2023-07-18* I regret purchasing this and the Soft Drummer. I quickly looked for a way to cancel the sale, but was not able. Overall, while the drum sounds are good, it’s just a constant battle to keep it down to a solid, usable rhythm. It’s just too busy. Too much going on. If it was a real drummer, I’d be asking them to just stay in the pocket, and less of the frills. One major issue I’m seeing is that when running a straight beat, such as Bossa Nova, the auto-generated fills are more often than not swung! This is really jarring, and makes it unpleasant to use. Not happy.
