With this app I’m often asked to go premium and pay, not a chance, when other jazz stations are totally free, what am I paying for? No ads that’s what, ads are the Bain but I’m not paying to remove them, I’ll just flick over when one comes up, or simply jury the volume down or turn off. ### 2/5 — Could be better! *2025-03-16, version 9.27* I use my phone to listen to Jazz FM. I get annoyed with the constant requests to sign in & to sign up to Rayo. I did sign up to Rayo, it did nothing for me or my listening experience so I deleted it. I have to be judicious when putting apps on my phone as they take up data which is at a premium. I think the layout of the shows & catchup needs to be updated. Love the music (if repetitious playlist) but don’t want the constant reminder between every track on playlists. Plus you can’t subscribe using Google or Apple. It’s really just the lowest possible app, something thrown together with no thought, no love, no philosophy , just plain greed and functional considerations. If it were a person this app would be a running a cheesy YouTube channel full of product placement with incoherent interjections. I’m sure for those who just want to listen to the radio, its fine, but for those who want to explore what presenters have to offer its just the worst possible thing. ### 1/5 — App crashing *2024-06-05, version 9.24* Needs an update, It’s always crashing. Frequently non-responsive on play, stop play, skip back or forward etc. On selected shows goes to most recent earlier date but can change that from ‘listened’ to ‘start from the beginning.’ Often drops the premium status meaning a need to reload or annoying adverts, especially when listening thru blue tooth when driving and therefore unable to correct immediately. Today it’s also silent when attempting to listen to yesterdays shows on playback.
