I've read music for years, but hand me a lead sheet and it came out sounding like hymns: root, third, fifth, nothing that exciting. This is focused on useful voicings, not just 'everything to know about piano', and the pace seems right. Being able to answer with a MIDI controller is great, and seeing the staff as I play has been helpful for reading. Very easy to spend time in this app.

Just a normal chord practice tool, nothing new.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review — and for confirming that the app does exactly what it says: chord practice. We agree this is not new; chords have been around since roughly the 1600s, yet we chose to work with them anyway. We did consider building the abnormal chord practice tool no one on earth could have imagined, but Nyango Star's schedule could not be accommodated, and without him, why bother. If you can ever spare a second sentence — perhaps one mentioning a specific shortcoming — we'd be delighted to read it at hey@districtonemobile.com. A single sentence, however confident, makes for a lonely roadmap.

I’ve tried other piano chord apps and they’re so complicated. This one cuts straight to it and is simple to use. Like the other reviewer said, this is very fun with a MIDI keyboard attached. It’s more like a game than learning rote jazz harmony. Great practice tool, keep it up!

The piano chord apps I’ve seen test rote memorization of note names or by having to tap a tiny keyboard on the screen. This isn’t that useful since it’s not actually playing the chords and sure, I might be able to recall what the b13th is on a chord but can I actually play it?!? Worse, the voicings in the apps I’ve seen aren’t often useful in a jazz context. Anyway,I tried this app with a MIDI keyboard attached and WOW, this is SO GOOD and FUN!!! Physically playing it on a real controller really works my muscle memory, because now I’m actually PLAYING it!!! Would love to see a chord-progressions mode or maybe some kind of timed playing quizzes to stress my muscle memory in new ways. Bravo!
