You can do a lot. My problem is the app keeps freezing when u have the gauges open after doing a pull. I have to toggle to the maps menus and than back to gauges for them to show live feedback again. Maybe this is something I can change in settings??? The app works fine, however since updating to iOS 26, it no longer keeps the screen on when you're using the gauges, which defeats the purpose of gauges. On previous iOS versions, the app would keep the screen on and the phone unlocked while using it so you could view the gauges and record logs. I have the device for a 2022 ford edge 4cyl. Definitely has a much smoother drive with it on, mileage is better. Easy to install and app is simple to use as well. My issues are that I’ve had to purchase the app three times now, because I go through phones like crazy, and apple doesn’t seem to want to save information very well. There is sometimes where I feel like I have to hit the quick mode I want after the initial start up, because it doesn’t feel like it’s giving me the smooth power, but when I hit number 3 and it loads then it’s good. But I think sometimes during the initial start up there is some connectivity issues. Might just be the phone, since they are just monitoring devices for the government. ### 3/5 — Just downloaded and not happy *2025-08-09* Purchased the app a few years back when I worked for a BMW performance shop and hadn’t used it in quite some time. Downloaded today so I could interface with my wife’s car and I have to pay for an app I’ve already purchased once?! The whole reason I paid for it the first time was so I could use it when I wanted. Honestly you’d think if you bought a $500+ programmer and paid the extra for Bluetooth connectivity bringing the total over $700 the app would come with it. ### 4/5 — Only one thing left to improve! *2025-07-08, version 3.0.4* Great app for a great product but it really needs to be integrated with Apple Carplay. I’m able to check my logs, switch my map, change my tune. Love it. Unfortunately I’m missing some parts of monitoring. I’m sure it’s due to availability and car. But I’m unable to get my Trans temp, oil temp, and some other. I also do wish there are more different styling gauges. 5.26.25 - So the update on the app is nice. The regular JB4 PRO app works fine wirelessly. ### 1/5 — What a pathetic trap! *2025-09-15* I would have happily purchased the “fancy updated version” of the app when I was comparing this one vs the pro version, but as soon as I realized that the $700 I paid for the JB4 module and Bluetooth adapter for my 2024 Raptor was incomparable with their “free app” - I’m furious. I have no option to change tunes without it, which is quite the effective pay wall. I’m going to actually submit a case with my states AG for an illegal practice called tying, which is where this company has bundled a unwanted product (their app) to the sale of a desired product (the hardware), which is by definition an unfair trade practice and engagement in tying under Maine consumer protection laws. Search your state laws and send that email, this is not ok - especially where this isn’t disclosed up front. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work after upgrade. *2025-01-31, version 3.0.2* Won’t work. I’ll post my final review after customer service ### 1/5 — Give Me My Theme Back *2025-01-11* I've been a JB4 user for over 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. That all changed with the latest app update. Upon automatic update, my old gauges and layouts were wiped out. Now, I'm forced to use one specific style of gauges, the text on the gauges has gotten MUCH smaller and it's hard to read due to the colors I'm now forced to use. Please add the other UI customization items from the previous version or allow us a way to install the previous version of the app. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Cannot connect after update *2025-01-06, version 3.0.2* My JB4 is now useless. However, as of today they issued a mandatory update for everyone’s app which completely changed the whole layout and now my car is barely drivable because my JB4 is messed up. No company should ever force an update. It should always be a user option. They are pretty responsive on the forums and provide continuous support for the app. Just send them your logs on the forum and they will help you as best as they can. The module is a boost controller so much of the tuning will be dependent on the fueling, spark plugs, and small adjustments in the app. It’s basically the same stuff bmw is keeping from you behind a paywall. After all their engines are b48s,b58s and for the big spenders s55s .
