I have a Flip 7 and Go 4, I was a bit skeptical of the app first when I first brought my Go 4 but turns out I was about to miss some good features like the 5 band EQ for the Go 4, you can see the battery life and other info like your serial number and also change the speakers name. It gets better when I brought my Flip 7 and since it has a 7 band EQ I was happy. Things to say for people that have like JBL Clip 4’s, Flip 5, Go 3 and some older models. This app is absolute garbage! *2026-08-18, version 6.9.33* Use it for one JBL speaker the, Go 4. I'm convinced this gives incorrect readings of the battery all the time. I don't think it updates or adjusts its default calculations for battery consumption when the user changes the EQ. I use a custom bass heavy EQ with higher ends pretty much level. It would be nice if this app gave notifications of low battery too, you'd think it's a no brainier. It would also be nice, if they updated their speaker to make its own low battery sound. It actually ridiculous how the Go 4 has a tiny light indicator ON THE SIDE to notify you of low battery WITHOUT a low battery sound for flip's sakes. Also the JBL Go 4, not just mine, shuts off RANDOMLY. This happened from 6months after I got it. I thought it was my specific speaker after a year I sent it to them to fix, they sent me back brand new JBL speaker. That issue of the old speaker also happens to this one too from the box. You'd think it's a battery degradation issue but since I got the new one and it still happens I'm convinced it's a software issue. The useless app I can't even rely on because I'm convinced its battery readings are absolutely a guess and gimmick. Only thing that works about this app is the EQ that's it. Now I came here to do a review of how this useless app can't even scan my speaker anymore when my phone is clearly connected to it playing music. I've tried all methods from yesterday and this useless app won't sense the speaker so I can't even see and change the EQ. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2026-08-17, version 6.9.33* Can’t connect the device at all. After I changed the display name for my speaker from this app, it bricked my jbl. Bluetooth stoped working entirely after that and hard reset wouldn’t work.
