### 2/5 — Why do I have to sign in so much?

*2017-07-27, version 3.0.7*

Love the app, but it drives me NUTS that I have to sign in all the time. Why can't I always be signed in? Sometimes I only have a few seconds to answer a question that I receive through a notification, but I have to log in again when the app opens. I'm really close to just deleting it if that feature isn't fixed soon because I'm just not effective to the community because I have to abandon answering questions sometimes.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER'S QUESTION: I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 10.3.2. Thanks

### 3/5 — Great when it works

*2017-05-23, version 2.2.5*

Great app when it works, but it frequently gives a notification of a question and then when you open the app, that question isn't there... but if you go online with a browser it's there, usually answered by someone else.

Also it randomly asks for my password.

### 3/5 — Slow to refresh and update

*2017-01-08, version 2.2.5*

I have messages in the notifications field that have expired days ago and when I delete them, they reappear the next time the app opens. Also, I will get push notifications that I question has been asked but when I open the app, the messages do not appear. The app is designed well, but the functionality could be significantly improved. It would also be nice to have this app work with attorneys' online Avvo profiles rather than forcing us to use the website to view or edit our profiles.

### 4/5 — Keyboard but fix

*2016-01-11, version 2.2.4*

Good app that I use a lot. Your Avvo JD app that updated for iPhone on January 8 now appears to have a very annoying but whereby when I go to submit an answer to a question in the app, the keyboard won't go away and I can't click publish. I use this app many times a day, so hopefully this will be fixed soon. If this is just an issue with my own phone I apologize, but it appears to have started as soon as your update came out.

### 4/5 — Good but could be great

*2015-11-25, version 2.2.3*

It's really only set up to provide answers to topics asked, and is fairly well set up to do that. But access to or editing your profile is non-existent. I think adding a Profile view and editing interface would be ideal.

### 4/5 — Very nice app

*2015-10-29, version 2.2.3*

I agree that it takes forever for them to delete old questions and that it sometimes freezes, but overall I think it's a really good app. Good for asking and answering questions and checking out ratings of attorneys. Definitely worth having, especially if they come up with an iPad version soon.

### 2/5 — Poorly working app

*2015-10-08, version 2.2.3*

Everyone else is right, notifications are SO slow to show up (sometimes it's days later). And the app constantly freezes and doesn't update or will un-update where it puts questions that I deleted back after I delete them.

### 4/5 — Good app, but needs some improvement.

*2015-09-16, version 2.2.3*

I think the biggest issue is that the alerts show up a long time after the questions have been posted. By the time the alert shows up a lot of attorneys have already answered the question.

### 3/5 — Attorney

*2015-08-23, version 2.2.2*

Like the app, but there are some bugs to work through. Sometimes there is a notification, but it does not lead to anything. Sometimes a link to a question requires several attempts to actually bring up the question.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2015-08-22, version 2.2.2*

Awesome app, free easy marketing from your phone. Would be nice if some of the other Avvo features were available, but for its simplicity it's great.

### 4/5 — Good app, but room for improvement

*2015-08-21, version 2.2.2*

There isn't a whole lot wrong with this app. I would like to be able to access my Avvo profile, but that's a small thing. What I do find frustrating is when I get a push notification about a question I want to answer, and then it doesn't show up on the app itself.

Apart from that, I really like the way it functions and interfaces.

### 2/5 — Extremely buggy

*2015-08-21, version 2.2.2*

This is a good app for answering questions on the fly, but it is very buggy. I'll get a notification that a new question was posted, but nowhere to be found when I open the app. When drafting an answer, it'll keep popping up message windows like "couldn't save draft," or just totally crash out. Hopefully next update will be more smooth.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — How do I create a profile?

*2022-11-19, version 3.0.19*

I just downloaded the app but it takes me straight into the log in and it won’t accept my password, because I don’t have a profile. Deleting the APP.

### 1/5 — I too have been ripped off

*2022-07-04, version 3.0.19*

Jason Wallace Estavillo
ripped me off for $7500 to look up title records from alameda county and not only did he over bill me to keep the balance of the retainer he looked the wrong person all together. I don’t think he a qualified real estate lawyer. Don’t get ripped off by him. I going to complain to the cal bar about him.

### 1/5 — Literally Never Works

*2021-08-04, version 3.0.19*

Says connection error and crashes literally every time I try to open the app. I’ve deleted and redownloaded several times. I can’t read entire questions on the mobile site through chrome/safari, so I was hoping the app would solve the problem of being able to answer questions in my downtime. I was wrong. I can only use Avvo when I’m at my office, and when I’m in the office I’m usually too busy to be on Avvo. Such a let down :(

### 1/5 — Last dev update 3 years ago?!

*2021-06-13, version 3.0.19*

Clearly AVVO isn’t serious about supporting this app. I had uninstalled it some time ago and just loaded it again. But, with no recent updates I must assume AVVO wants attorneys to answer questions via the website and not this app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-04-29, version 3.0.19*

I’ve downloaded and redownloaded this app, signed in and out, and no matter what I do, it doesn’t work. It says it can’t connect to the network and never loads any of the information except for the answers I’ve already submitted. It’s not helpful at all.

### 1/5 — Avvo is lacking ethics

*2020-08-24, version 3.0.19*

I do NOT recommend using Avvo for any purpose. The lawyer ratings are skewed based on whether or not the attorney is paying a premium to advertise with this service. It should be criminal what they are doing. They come across as ‘real’ experiences with the lawyer and firm yet I have been denied at least 5 times a bad review on a lawyer I used. I know this is based on advertising since the second lawyer I used after getting ripped off by Micheal Conroy.... I wrote up her review ... a horrible review for her Avvo accepted immediately without question and she doesn’t pay for advertising. I’m still trying to write the review. And have written to Avvo .... no response. DO NOT TRUST THIS AGENCY OR ANY OF THE REVIEWS!!!!

### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work

*2018-03-23, version 3.0.19*

If it’s a long question, the entire question does not get displayed. 9 times out of 10, it logs me out when I exit the app.

I constantly get sales pitches from your employees trying to get me to buy preferred listings, but why would I do that, if a simple app has these kinds of problems?

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2017-10-13, version 3.0.14*

Avvo subscriber here. This app is awful. I use it to answer questions. The display truncates the title to the question so you can't always read it. It often truncates the question itself. Questions disappear. All around awful UI. There's no way to view questions other than whatever it decides to display, so you can't jump to another category or another jurisdiction or anything like that (the filter doesn't help). Can't sort the questions.

I skip it and log onto to Avvo through Safari.

### 1/5 — Exceeded my expectations of terribleness

*2017-06-25, version 3.0.2*

I used to use this app a long time ago. Then they updated it and it didn't work properly so I deleted it. Then I read recently it was updated again so I just re-downloaded it. Now it doesn't work at all. Like - at all. It says it can't connect to the avvo network. I would honestly suggest avvo either pay an app developer more than $5 to make this app or just give up.

### 1/5 — Very buggy

*2015-09-01, version 2.2.2*

When I get a new notification that someone has asked a question; more than 75% of the time I click it and nothing is there... That renders the app essentially useless

Would also like to be able to see my profile

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2016-03-07, version 2.2.5*

This app allows easy interface between potential clients and experienced attorneys.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-03-02, version 2.2.5*

App works well and seems to help clients get quick answers to their questions.

### 5/5 — Review

*2015-09-25, version 2.2.3*

Avvo is the best way for lawyers and potential clients to connect. It's easy to use and a great advertising tool. I love it. I also love the JD app because it lets young lawyers read answers from more experienced lawyers. Great site!!!

### 5/5 — Great application.

*2015-09-18, version 2.2.3*

I have no complaints about this application, but I would really like to see a copy of it made for the iPad. Great job on this application though.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2015-09-11, version 2.2.2*

Helps people get focused on what to do in times of crisis. Helpful for attorneys to see other points of view.

### 5/5 — So far, so good

*2015-09-10, version 2.2.2*

I've only been using the app for a few days but haven't experienced any of the bugs others have reported. I like iPhone notifications so I don't have to open the app until needed.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2015-08-03, version 2.2*

Perfect to find qualified lawyers. Reviews are the most important indicator of a competent attorney you can work with. The Avvo rating system has nothing to do with how the attorney is only what they did many years back or paid for.

### 5/5 — Immigration Attorney

*2015-07-16, version 2.2*

This is nicely made app which makes it easier to interact with people looking for answers to their legal questions.

### 4/5 — So good, so far

*2016-04-15, version 2.2.5*

Seems very easy to use and gives you quick access to questions and potential clients.

### 4/5 — Useful app

*2016-04-15, version 2.2.5*

Nice app that helps an attorney answer questions without using a web browser. I think the list on the right is hard to understand. When do notifications stop being counted? Also, there is no editing function, which is poor.
