I bought a JD Drive 128Gb for a lot of money. The only thing this app does is to backup your iPhone to the drive, why would you want to do that? I backup my iPhone either to iCloud or my M2 My iPhone is not the centre of my Music, but my M2 Macbook air is where almost 1 Tb is stored. There is no way this app will transfer Music from my M2. First, it only created a portion of my named files on my iPhone X. About half were not created/copied. Then I checked the JD Drive to make sure my content (mov, jpg, png, live, heic) were indeed on the JD drive before deleting them on my phone. Guess what. Maybe 20-30% were viewable… the rest had the generic pic logo, wouldn't open. I noted a few that were “corrupted” or for whatever reason were not viewable… went back to my phone, clicked about a dozen, manually transferred/overwrote the “bad” ones on the JD drive… still not viewable. Nothing in the PDF user guide mentions this or offers any solutions. Really irritating to wait almost 2 hours for stuff to download/babysit the phone to make sure nothing flakey happens, only to find the large majority of your stuff is not viewable. I read a few reviews saying this thing is malware… can’t say yes or no, but it did seem to require a lot of permissions and since it’s a Chinese company, not sure I’m gonna stick this thing into my PC. Caveat Emptor 👎 ### 1/5 — Malware *2024-02-13, version 1.0.36* The day I plug the drive in it needed this app to transfer the photos. The same day I started receiving spam emails I never had before. 2 days later a family member received a specific call, with information only found in my messages on my phone telling her that I was in an accident and needed money. Avoid at all costs, don’t buy the drive, dont download the app and don’t transfer anything to it! ### 1/5 — Product not fit for purpose *2024-01-01, version 1.0.36* Crashes, not reliable. If you purchase this make sure you are satisfied with the backup BEFORE deleting from original source. I’m not satisfied that I can rely on this storage option. Once the originals were backed up, on subsequent occasions, the app only takes seconds to scan the hardware select new content & back them up to the stick. If you want to be selective and only back up specific photos from your PC this can be done by manually selecting the photos & copying and pasting them through the file menu onto the stick rather than using the back-up menu to capture the whole caboodl ### 5/5 — Fast and Painless *2021-06-19, version 1.0.20* I don’t understand the negative reviews.
