### 1/5 — Terrible customer service; terrible app

*2026-02-25*

I’ve been trying to get help with this app for months and I get no response when I send a message. I need to speak with someone! I’ve had no matches for months even when changing my “ preferences”. The last ones were men from other countries far off my preferences and when they finally removed them ( I wrote many times) I’ve had no matches for months even though I experimented and changed preferences a number of times !! I write them and get no response and no help!

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear this! Regarding not hearing back from our Customer Support team, are you contacting us through the contact form in our help center? Also, please make sure you check your junk mail to make sure our replies have not ended up there. We definitely want to assist you!

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-02-20*

I bought a year premium subscription in Oct 2025 through the App Store. Within weeks of my membership , the system blocked access to my account.
I contacted jdate customer service numerous times requesting a refund but was told a refund had to go through Apple since membership was bought through App Store . Both Apple and jdate bounced me around and sloughed off ownership of the refund request until Apple denied my claim.
Jdate CS is only via email which is slow , arduous and very frustrating!!
Stay away from app as it seems to have chronic issues that result in glitches which block access to one’s account and lacks technical support as evidenced through my experience and others based on the many reviews.
This seems to be a scam to money grab !

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback. It is correct that Jdate does not have the ability to issue any refunds if the purchase was made through the app store. Also, we do have certain procedures in place to help keep Jdate a safe place for all of our members, but occasionally mistakes happen. If you think your profile was incorrectly blocked, our Customer Support team will be happy to take a closer look and assist you.

### 1/5 — Rejection at scale

*2026-02-05, version 7.5.0*

Don’t pay the outrageous premium that they upsell.

### 2/5 — Glitchy af

*2026-02-05, version 7.5.0*

Super glitchy and no matches unless you pay

### 1/5 — Been taken for a fool

*2026-02-04*

Let me tell about my experience with an app.

I had used it a few years ago and found a limited number of profiles in my age range even in a city of 2 million.

I decided to return to the app having noticed that it has been overhauled.

I plunked down an annual payment and here is what I got:

If you swipe left and decide to reconsider a profile, it is gone and apparently would no longer show up for you.

After a few visits, I exhausted about two dozen profiles, and even though I wanted to reconsider one or two, that train has left the station.

Instead, the app would offer random profiles from all over the country which is really impractical and of no use for most people, me included.

I see that the developers would leave their comment to say how sorry they are that a user is disappointed, but they don't really mean it.

I plan to delete the app, lest it reminds me for being taken for a fool.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the app hasn’t met your expectations, and we invite you to contact our Customer Support team so we can take your comments into account.

### 1/5 — Subpar

*2026-02-02, version 7.5.0*

Feels like Jdate gave up on developing the app and offer matchmaking services at premium. Match.com is so much better.

### 1/5 — 👀Serious problem with account management and security issues ⚠️

*2026-02-02*

My experience with JDate was deeply concerning. A user pressured me to move the conversation to another app to “verify” my identity. For safety reasons, I declined, as I had already completed JDate’s verification process.

After setting this boundary, I was reported as a fake profile and my account was blocked without proper investigation or review of the conversation. Support took over a week to respond.

I was later asked to submit my passport, which I did. At that point, I clearly requested the permanent deletion of my account and cancellation of my subscription. Instead, my account was reactivated without my consent, and my requests were ignored.

This reflects poor handling of security issues and account management. I would not recommend this app.

**Developer response:** We've received your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration you’ve experienced. Your safety and satisfaction is important to us. If you would kindly connect with our Support Team, they are ready to listen and assist you further.

### 1/5 — Pathetic

*2026-02-01, version 7.5.0*

Horrible. It kept logging me out and tried to re-bill me. A pathetic app for a pathetic company as they see the reviews and somehow managed to make the app even worse than it already was.

### 2/5 — Glitches and restrictions

*2026-01-28*

Why download the app when it makes you continuously sign in and restate your cookie preferences despite saving them every single time? Why restrict potential matches to a few per day for paying members? Why show the same profiles as “new” when you’ve already matched with or turned down a potential match? I wish I hadn’t paid for a year. The service is mediocre at best and the app is awful.

**Developer response:** Thanks for getting in touch—we’re sorry you’ve run into trouble. Your feedback is important to us, and we want to make sure you get the help you need. Please reach out to our Customer Support team so we can work with you to resolve this.

### 1/5 — Extremely low match rates

*2026-01-19, version 7.4.0*

The match rate is well below 1%, making me think most of the users I’m being shown are dormant accounts.

### 1/5 — Worst waste of money and no refund no choice run around

*2026-01-17*

Paid for six months went one month with no options kept writing customer service did everything asked still doesn’t work and out a six month membership , little to no selection and my preferences are not specific. Super disappointing-total “Shonda”

**Developer response:** Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re very sorry to hear of what you have experienced, and we understand how frustrating this is. Please contact our Customer Support team directly so we can look into this and make it right.

### 2/5 — Terrible app

*2026-01-14, version 7.4.0*

The service is not terrible. It is what it is; an old school niche dating site for Jewish singles. But the app is almost comically unusable. It’s really funny how they screw up even basic functionality like sign-in. It's a genuinely bad app.

### 2/5 — Annoying Notificationd

*2026-01-14, version 7.4.0*

If not premium you are bombarded with notifications that u can’t turn off about people liking your profile but can’t see who they are. A very bad marketing ploy to get one to pay money for a premium upgrade.

### 1/5 — Nobody local

*2026-01-09*

I feel I did not use my money wisely. There are not men to meet around my location. I paid for a year. The subscription limits browsing to a few profiles every 24 hours and the same profiles are cycled through so I started blocking the recycled profiles. The app keeps recommending men 2 or more states way from me. I’m extremely frustrated with this service. I regret paying for it.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your feedback. Adjusting your search settings can often expand the pool of potential matches available to you. If you’d like assistance in making these changes, our Customer Support team will be glad to walk you through the process.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-01-08, version 7.4.0*

This app it’s terrible. The technology sucks, and the support is nonexistent. Stay away.

### 1/5 — Price and features

*2025-12-31*

Compared to all of the other applications in the market, Jdate is the most expensive one and has less features like if there’s a match another application, you can actually reach out for non-paying customers second of all there’s no option of super like and third of all Settings on faith/religion are very vague or if someone prefers just Jewish it does not have the option

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the app hasn’t met your expectations. We’re constantly working on updates to improve the experience and provide a high-quality service for our members. We encourage you to reach out to our Customer Support team—they’ll be happy to discuss your concerns and guide you on how to get the most out of your membership. Your input is very important to us as we continue to improve.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time or phone space with this app

*2026-08-04*

Pretty wild to me that users get absolutely NOTHING out of this app unless you pay for a subscription. You can’t even see who has liked you. And it won’t allow you to update your name (I put ‘xx’ because they wouldn’t accept my first name when I started my profile).

Don’t bother downloading this app- just go use JSwipe or just about any other free app where you can adjust your preferences easily. Facebook dating is better than this app/site.

**Developer response:** Hi R.Sil, Disappointed to hear this. Free members can still like, match, and message their matches at no cost — seeing who liked you first is a Premium feature. For the name that wouldn't save, support@jdate.com can get it corrected on your profile.

### 1/5 — Horrific and here’s why

*2026-07-20*

I just joined this app for the first time. Seems as if both customer service and IT support and app development have left the buildiITpletely. not only did I get the highest paying to your account at clocked in at $200 annually. I found very quickly startling revelations. First and foremost, the most important one preferences that I selected from my partners to be filtered out are not filtered out. If you want to test it, you can see for yourself for example unselect orthodox Jews from your preference and you’ll still get orthodox Jews in your list. Secondly, as the highest paying to your account, they limit your intros to 20 intros and make you buy more which is audacious to say the least. Lastly, their customer service section icon leads you to enter a chat at which point you submit your grievance or request and you get an error message that says the ticket system doesn’t function. As far as I’m concerned, unless these things are responded to publicly in some sort of social media campaign announcement via the ex platform or basic news to make people understand that this app is no longer primarily supported by the developer. I highly recommend that you don’t subscribe to the services and look elsewhere. They also limit you from entering your social media information, cell phone, information and other app communication usernames by means of AI filtering. They force you to be on the platform and utilize their platform for communications relying on you to pay for it subsequently I’m more than positive. They also don’t permit the party that you’re liking to respond to you and kind without having a paid account as well. I haven’t confirmed that last part but given the situation I’m more than positive that that’s the case. Those of us who have our safety concerns met and have established separate telephone numbers and specialized apps to function and guard our protection while enabling communication do not require apps to govern our security, and in fact we do require us or rather them to ask us these questions so that our security concerns are met in a more appropriate fashion. Like many other apps this app is simply a way for a company to collect data on people and make money simultaneously.

**Developer response:** Hi NyNate718, Thanks for trying Jdate — disappointed to hear this hasn't started well. Once you match with someone, messaging is free and unlimited for both members, paid or not, so you're not blocked from replying. For the preference that isn't filtering as expected and the ticket error you hit, reach us at support@jdate.com, and we'll look into your account directly.

### 1/5 — Would Not Recommend

*2026-07-10*

The app requires you to log in every time it’s closed, and it will randomly suspend user accounts if they remain inactive. Of all the dating apps I’ve tried (JSwipe, Tribe, Lox Club, Hinge, and others) this one has been the worst by far. And these are only a few of the many issues I’ve experienced with the app. I hate to leave such a negative review for a dating app dedicated to a cause I truly believe in (Jewish dating), but my experience has been so disappointing that I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same frustrations, especially given the lack of customer support.

**Developer response:** Hi Josh_R. We're disappointed to hear this — and we hear you on support, so let's start there: our team can be reached directly at support@jdate.com and would want to look into both the repeated logouts and the account issue you described. You clearly care about Jewish dating, and we'd like the chance to make your experience live up to that.

### 1/5 — Data manipulation

*2026-07-05*

After using and observing this app for some time now and talking to my friends who used this app, I can say with full confidence that they’re playing a dirty game by not showing the full options of the members and limiting them so you’ll keep your membership as long as possible. I do not recommend this app.

**Developer response:** Hi Cpjuices, We're disappointed to hear this is your impression. We'd love the chance to address your concerns directly — our Support team is always happy to walk you through how our features work. Please don't hesitate to reach out!

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2026-06-25*

I thought paid sites should give something in return for the money people spend. Turns out they are happy to take your money and not give anything in return. The pool of available matches is very small. To compensate for this they give you prospects from other provinces. The settings do not matter. You can set a distance for 20 miles from Toronto and get ALL prospects from QC or MB. If they happen to be in Ontario they come either from Ottawa or Windsor that by any measurements are much further than 20 miles from Toronto. There is no “satisfaction guarantee”, and once you paid you can’t get your money back. Very poor business practice and very poor site. Completely disappointed!

**Developer response:** Hi Yuri_olh, we appreciate the honest feedback and are disappointed to hear this fell short. Your distance setting does help shape who you see, though recommendations can widen when local activity is low. For billing questions, subscriptions are managed through whichever platform you signed up on (Apple, Google, or the web), and our support team at support@jdate.com can walk you through the specifics for your account.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-14*

Worst app I have ever used. Technically very poor with the settings very difficult to manipulate more important to criteria I have entered is not being used by the app and I I’m only getting selections from a jurisdiction, not even
close to where I prefer.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. You will see suggested matches based on your pre-selected preferences under the "Recommended" page, while seeing suggested matches that may not fit all of your preferences, but still could be a great fit, under the "Discover" page. Sometimes, adjusting your preferences can open up more potential matches and improve your results. If you’d like guidance on how to make these changes, our customer support team is always here to help. We can also offer assistance with any technical issues you may be experiencing if you reach out with more information!

### 1/5 — Total scam

*2026-06-06*

You can’t set parameters for who they show you. I’m in Wisconsin but they’re suggesting people in Ontario and North Carolina. No way to say “Hey, how about someone within 90 miles or so?”

Then there’s the constant pressure to spend. Want to contact people? Pay up. Not working out (not because we’re showing profiles from 800 miles away, of course)? Then pay for a matchmaker.

I get that this is a business. That’s fine. But this is excessive and wasteful.

Edit: and now I wish I could revoke all stars. It completely quit offering any profiles. Zip. Zero. Uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR PAY FOR THIS APP!

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand your frustration and are committed to improving your matching experience. To ensure you see the most relevant profiles, please reach out to our dedicated support team. They are ready to personally guide you through optimizing your preference settings right away. Our goal is to maximize your opportunities and deliver the positive results you expect.

### 1/5 — App is horrible

*2026-05-04*

This is the worst app I have ever downloaded. Constant glitches: all messages say from unknown, I can't use it for more than a few minutes and it crashes and makes me sign back in (which is so frustrating when you're in the middle of a conversation). I've uninstalled, reinstalled, made sure my iOS system is current, cleared my cache, removed my vpn, accepted all cookies, accepted only required.

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service; terrible app. Still can’t get anyone to respond

*2026-03-08*

I’ve been trying to get help with this app for months and I get no response when I send a message. I need to speak with someone! I’ve had no matches for months even when changing my “ preferences”. The last ones were men from other countries far off my preferences and when they finally removed them ( I wrote many times) I’ve had no matches for months even though I experimented and changed preferences a number of times !! I write them and get no response and no help!

I got a reply from
Spark saying to contact site or update review. I’ve contacted site over and over and only get the automated reply.
To add to review - this site is totally unresponsive - I can not get anyone to check my profile or let me know if there are really no “ matches” of men between 33-45 within 50, 100, 500 + miles of the major metropolitan city I live in!!!!!! Where is real ( live) customer service ???

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear this! Regarding not hearing back from our Customer Support team, are you contacting us through the contact form in our help center? Also, please make sure you check your junk mail to make sure our replies have not ended up there. We definitely want to assist you!

### 1/5 — Waste of time, money and effort

*2026-03-02*

Over the course of my life, I have used JDate for years, and twice paid for 3-6 months of their subscription service. I have had just about as much luck us in this app as the Hindenburg engineers would have had by tackling their problem with a fire extinguisher.
Having tried to use it, I feel informed in giving my opinion that this product, and its associated services, are a waste of time, effort and money.
For G-d’s sake, it charges you around twice what other services do for basic functions (such as the ability to send messages), that 90% of other services give for free.
If you are a man trying to use JDate to find a Jewish woman to date, I recommend as an alternative; screaming into a well. You will receive more responses that way than from other users for the service team for this product.

**Developer response:** We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience with the app was disappointing. Please reach out to our dedicated Customer Support team so we can discuss your comments in greater detail.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Guy

*2026-03-14, version 7.5.1*

Great Guy

### 5/5 — Pitiful Hustle

*2025-11-19*

What a waste of my money. You either like or reject each person. No other option. Can’t go back and reconsider. Then after a month or so they start hustling you to join another part of their app. where they have live dating coaches for of course another substantial fee. I feel very ripped off and wish I could get a refund. As the saying goes I paid my money and the hype doesn’t even come close to my experience. Some goofus will probably reply that they are sorry I don’t like their app. They won’t say they are glad they ripped me off. G-d bless you have been warned. PS: This app. is so bad this is the first time I have ever written a negative review about any app.

**Developer response:** We appreciate you telling us about your experience. Jdate has recently gone through some big updates, and you can learn more about them in our Help Center. If you'd like to reach out for assistance with your Premium Subscription, our Customer Support team is here for you.

### 5/5 — It is worth it

*2025-09-27, version 7.2.1*

A lot of interesting true people. Great place to meet.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-09-23, version 7.2.1*

This app actually WORKS, unlike many.

### 4/5 — JDate

*2025-10-10*

I thought it was better before when you could see who was online and who has been more active.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the app hasn’t met your expectations, and we invite you to contact our Customer Support team so we can take your comments into account.

### 3/5 — The reboot is barely functional

*2025-12-10*

The current version of Jdate is atrocious. In addition to the lack of functionality noted by the other reviewers, it keeps sending notifications for new messages when there is nothing there. The reason I keep the account is that despite the problems with the app, there are some quality people on there.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your feedback and are sorry the recent updates haven’t met your expectations. If you’re experiencing any issues, our Customer Support team is here to help and support you.

### 3/5 — Jewish or not?

*2025-09-23, version 7.2.1*

When I wish someone “l’Shanah Tovah” and they have NO idea what I’m talking about, I have to wonder if I’m communicating with Jewish men. Some also had no idea what Rosh Hashanah is. A bit perplexing

### 2/5 — Terrible algorithm

*2026-05-09*

The main issue I have with Jdate is the algorithm. I worked with one of Spark Network’s matchmakers until their matchmaking program abruptly ended, probably because the company has been on shaky financial footing. They provided me with a good number of introductions, and many of them should have appeared on my Jdate offerings, but did not. As a paid subscriber, I don’t think they should be withholding profiles that meet the criteria I have specified. There also are profiles featuring answers to the prompts obviously generated by AI, and profiles which may entirely be created by AI. It used to work better than it does now.

### 2/5 — Decent

*2026-02-25*

It’s ok don’t know why they made a new app from the old one

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Your feedback is important, and we encourage you to reach out to our Customer Support team so we can take your comments into account.

### 2/5 — Suboptimal algorithm and limited options

*2026-02-16*

The main problem is the male options for a female user. Let’s start with the fact that half of the male users have self-reportedly other religions, which already beats the purpose of the app. But here is the side-by-side comparison of the male options on jdate and on the more popular “H”, non-j, dating app. “H”options are an average of 6.5 among 100 filtered options, while for jdate the average was 2.5 among 20 (lightly) filtered options, which left me basically with an average 5 among 2 decent options. These are my personal approximate ratings obviously. But I would say from experience thay “H” feels 500 times better than Jdate. This is my honest take on it.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! This site is an online community created specifically for singles to make new friends or to find a life-long partner who shares similar values, traditions, and beliefs. We permit anyone to participate on the site as long as they abide by the Terms and Conditions of Service. We’re sorry the filter options haven't met your expectations, and we invite you to contact our Customer Support team so we can take your comments into account."
