## What is jd.Edit?

jd.Edit is a waveform editor for iPhone — cut audio like on a desktop. On top of that, the app records through USB audio interfaces in true stereo and remembers your input choice instead of letting iOS silently switch back to a Bluetooth headset. And it writes MP3 with its own encoder — something iOS cannot do at all — calibrated against the reference encoder LAME.

FREE — INCLUDED FOR EVERYONE

• Opens WAV, AIFF, CAF, MP3, M4A/AAC, Apple Lossless, FLAC and Opus (mono and stereo) • Waveform with two-finger zoom all the way down to individual wave cycles • Select, listen, delete, trim to selection, silence — non-destructive, with unlimited undo; the original file is never touched • Linear fade-in and fade-out • Zero-crossing snap and a 2 ms micro-fade at every cut edge: no clicks • Recording with the built-in microphone as uncompressed WAV (44.1 kHz / 24-bit) • File shelf with folders, search, preview playback and mini player — visible in the iOS Files app • Export as WAV and AAC. At the same bitrate, AAC actually beats MP3 in quality — the free tier does not get the worse result, just not the older format

iOS ships without an MP3 encoder — jd.Edit brings its own. jd.Codec is developed entirely in-house with zero third-party libraries, verified with 116 round-trip checks against Apple's own decoder and benchmarked against LAME. And lossless is always available: import → export without edits is bit-identical for WAV.
