This app has live interpreters, in every language we need, which naturally helps me have confidence that I’m fully understanding our customers needs and I’m providing the most appropriate solution. I could also see Jeenie being incredibly useful for doctors to use with their patients that don’t speak English. ### 5/5 — The full language and cultural support package *2020-02-25* It’s not every day you come across an app that allows you to study a new language, navigate a new city in a country you’ve never been to before, get interpretation help for yourself or a loved one at a medical appointment, or open open up doors that were previously closed to the Deaf community. Jeenie does this and more, with a linguist answering your call 24/7 in less than 60 seconds. This app is a must-have! ### 5/5 — My on-demand travel companion! *2020-02-25* My parents visited from China this past summer and since I was working full-time, I was really worried about them getting around without knowing the language. Luckily, Jeenie linguists were there to keep them accompanied 24/7 when I couldn’t be around. They were able to order food, explain allergies, ask for directions, and go on amazing sightseeing trips on their own!! On a daily basis I meet/see thousands of people and more often than not there are some with whom I can’t communicate due to language barriers. I have used this app on countless occasions in order to help out those that this happens with. If this isn’t the future of on the go translation, I don’t know what is. As you can imagine, every day interactions are incredibly difficult, frustrating, and inefficient when my taxi driver, hotel concierge, & waitress can’t understand me... I literally use Jeenie 5x/day when I’m traveling because it just makes my life sooo much easier! ### 5/5 — Lifesaver *2020-02-24* SO THANKFUL FOR THIS APP. I recently went down to Mexico for a friend’s wedding. I can middle through with the rest using my 7th grade Spanish, but turns out that the hotel overbooked and screwed up our room reservation, our shuttle mixed up the pick-up date, and the travel organizer for the wedding didn’t speak English but was trying to help us find a new hotel. Anyway, found this app, downloaded and added minutes using the airport WiFi, and was able to deal with all sorts of last minute craziness thanks to my own personal Jeenie. My Jeenie connection helped me navigate the city to read the signs (not in my language of English). The Jeenie then helped me speak to the hostess to get a table for a delicious obanzai meal AND then helped me with the kanji menu for my delicious selection! ### 5/5 — Traveling with a worry!! *2018-12-22* Every time I’m on a plane to a country where I don’t speak the language, I worry about how I will manage certain situations, especially when I’m doing business! As soon as I land in the airport, I open my Jeenie app to help w getting my taxi to the hotel, checking in, etc. I have saved a lot of money on interpreted by using Jeenie in business meetings. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Georgian Interpreter for Geenie *2022-12-12, version 3.31.4* I spent lots of time to sing up for Jeenie as a Georgian Interpreter. But it is not working for me and generally it is not working properly. I waisted my time sending them my credentials and so on. Required the ada law said that different sign language interpreter required knowledge different sign language the world . ### 2/5 — Excellent but sketchy *2023-02-07* Great concept but a translator is not always responsive and there’s no backup or IT support when you need assistance most. Emails and calls go unanswered and why do you have to sign a contract if you use the pay by use option. I love the service but I’ve been emailing g and calling for months to sign the documents again to release services and no response **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Transparent rating, we would like to see our overall rating, it doesn’t have to be individual rating, we just want to know our average rating. I want to know if my service satisfied their needs. 2. Dark mode, please add a dark mode feature. 3. Build an Interpreter community, where we can chat together or making posts, just to feel like we are in a community helping out each other. Latest review is at least a year old - this is what I get after registering - a blank white (all lit) screen. This is also on the iPad app. Wrote an email. After struggling through some feeble google translate attempts, I connected to Jeenie for those moments when I NEEDED to be understood (hotel reservations, flights etc). Having the knowledge that with one click I could once again seamlessly understand and communicate in the situation was an enormously relief and extremely comforting in an unfamiliar environment. Definitely will keep using! ### 5/5 — Critical during Puerto Rico’s earthquake emmergency *2020-02-26* Imagine you are in Puerto Rico for a well deserved holiday. You are staying in a lovely Airbnb apartment in San Juan. Out of the blue, a series of earthquakes shake your building during the night . What do you do? You rush out to the hallway of your building where a couple of neighbors are gathered. You are given some kind of official paper. Your Spanish is marginal at best. Are you going to sit there with Google translate trying to make sense of the instructions on that piece of paper? Are you going to corner some panicked neighbor to get them to dictate something into a translation app while your building is shaking? This is the situation my husband and I found ourselves in. Jeenie was a God send! We simply grabbed our iPhone, pressed “Connect” on the Jeenie app and a calm, bilingual human came on line. He was our “mouth and ears”. Clearly translated what we needed to do, helped us to interact with our neighbors, even translated the local news channel’s up to the minute reports. After this experience, I would say to anyone, that they would be crazy to travel anywhere, (even within the US) without Jeenie! ### 5/5 — Keeps ideas from getting lost in translation *2020-02-26* A great app for professional and personal use when you need to communicate important information across language differences. Definitely much better than just using Google Translate. Key ideas and intent get lost in translation with regular translation apps. Jeenie avoids those problems by giving users an on-demand language and culture interpreter who can make sure nuances aren’t missed when talking to people speaking different languages.
