I’m a big fan of the book so this has been so fun to play, but I have two issues with this; the first one is the ads. I never thought I would say this but—I wish I could watch more ads; the way this game works is that you need to pay coins to move forward and the only way to get coins is it watch ads. You get six ads a day. Once you run out the game is practically unplayable for the rest of the day. This is a huge deal breaker for me because I genuinely want to play the game and I’m willing to watch more ads for it, but I can’t. My second issue I don’t mind as much it’s more of an annoyance than anything but the tea time feature is useless, I will get stuck somewhere and I’ll decide to use tea time to help, but than tea time will just tell me what I already know and not what I’m stuck on. This doesn’t bother me as much though. At the end of the day this is a very fun game that I love. ### 4/5 — great, but why the pay2win? *2025-06-08, version 2.13.0* this retelling of jekyll and hyde is absolutely AMAZING. to the storyline, character designs, and dialogue, it was perfect. my only problem with the game is how expensive everything is. why are crowns so difficult to get?? why do i have to pay to see the illustrations? other than how difficult it is to progress, i would highly recommend it. ### 4/5 — Really cool game, just one thing… *2025-05-17, version 2.13.0* All in all, I really like this game. The art style is amazing, the story is gripping, and it’s fun to connect all the pieces, the only frustrating thing is that there seems to be no way to earn any coins other than watching ads, and then the amount of ads you can watch is limited to 6 per day, so you can only work on one or two cases a day unless you stock pile your coins, or unless you’re willing to buy them. I understand having ads as a mechanic to get more coins, but there should be places throughout the game to earn some more coins. Корчое, хотелось бы, чтобы после прохождения, за просмотр рекламы давали бы только золотые монеты, а не серебрянные. Или чтобы можно было бы обменять серебрянные монеты, на золотые. The art style and gameplay is fun, I felt relax yet anticipated every actions even though I already knew the story. Ну и как сейчас «модно» в игру добавлять ситуации, в которых ты не можешь идти дальше по сюжету, потому что нет денег, либо плати реальные деньги за это г, либо смотри много рекламы таких же отстойных игр, скажу только, что рисовка и задумка интересные, но сюжет отстой, выманивание денег отстой, было бы неплохо, если бы игра в целом стоила определенную сумму, но когда ты за каждую отстойную главу платишь деньги, это так неприятно. ### 1/5 — Монетки *2023-10-05* Как писали тут многие, без монеток далеко не уйдешь и вроде дают альтернативу - посмотреть рекламу, но реклама не работает и в итоге не могу пройти дальше по сюжету. Unlike pure visual novels like DDLC that consist of endless, static reading, MazM strikes a perfect balance. You can physically walk Mr. Utterson around Victorian London, clicking on optional details like street posters and interacting with local NPCs like the newsboy. It adds a wonderful layer of detective immersion without the text fatigue. The free version's model is admittedly annoying. Forcing players to sit through ads to unlock a chapter—or gating puzzle hints behind a "Tea Time" energy system—completely ruins the dark, gothic atmosphere. Thankfully, the fix is only $6. Paying for the premium unlock completely removes ads and grants unlimited hints, making it a flawless, uninterrupted experience. If you want a sandbox game, skip this. But if you want a beautiful, interactive literary mystery.
