However the playback on the apple watch is a bit broken. Only the first song that is selected plays. Pressing play on other songs or pressing the skip Button does nothing. One tap to start music without scrolling a list while you drive. Siri • "Hey Siri, play The Beatles on JellyAmp" now works, on iPhone and in CarPlay. Ask for an artist, album, playlist or song. Some bug fixes: Apple Watch • Fixed the cause of constant buffering. The watch was streaming full size original files and ignoring your quality setting. • The watch now buffers further ahead, so a brief drop in signal no longer interrupts playback. • The next track starts loading before the current one ends, so track changes are faster. Note: when a song is larger than your watch quality setting, the watch now asks your Jellyfin server to convert it on the fly (shown as "Transcoding" on your server dashboard). This is normal and light work for most servers, but on very low-powered hardware it can cause buffering of its own. If that's your setup, lower the watch quality setting or use downloads. Downloads • Tracks already within your chosen quality are saved without being re-encoded, so no quality is lost. ### 3.1 — 2026-07-31 What's new in JellyAmp Your full artist roster, finally visible If your library has soundtrack or compilation albums tagged with "Various Artists" as the album artist, the performers on those albums used to be missing from JellyAmp entirely. They didn't show in the Artists tab and couldn't be found in search, even though every track was tagged correctly. JellyAmp now asks your Jellyfin server for all artists, including those credited only on individual tracks, so everyone shows up in the Artists list, in search, and with their own artist page listing the albums they appear on. Note: your artist list may look fuller after this update. That's your library's real cast finally being counted. Apple Watch: controls you can trust Controlling iPhone playback from your wrist is now far more dependable. Previously, if the watch's connection to the phone hiccuped at the wrong moment, a tap on pause could start playback and vice versa. The watch now tells the phone exactly what you meant ("play" or "pause") rather than "flip whatever you're doing," so a delayed or repeated message can never reverse your intent. If a command truly can't reach the phone, the watch tells you instead of failing silently. Apple Watch: audiobooks get audiobook buttons While listening to an Audiobookshelf book, the watch previously showed music-style previous/next track buttons. The buttons did the right thing (skipping 15 seconds back or 30 seconds forward), but they didn't look like it. The watch now shows proper interval-skip controls for books, in JellyAmp's own Now Playing screen and in the watchOS system player alike. Update your iPhone and Apple Watch apps together to get the full effect of the watch improvements. ### 3.0 — 2026-07-14 JellyAmp 3. Our new major update! Audiobooks: JellyAmp now plays your audiobooks. Connect an Audiobookshelf server alongside your Jellyfin music and your library comes with you. • Audiobookshelf support. Add your server in Settings and a new Audiobooks section appears in your Library. Your music stays exactly as it was. • A player built for listening: chapters, playback speed from 0.75x to 2x, skip back 15s or forward 30s, and a sleep timer (by minutes or end of chapter). • Pick up anywhere. Your place syncs to your server as you listen, so a book you started on your Mac continues right where you left off on your iPhone. • Continue Listening. Jump back into your current book straight from the Home screen. • Offline downloads. Save books to your iPhone or iPad for listening without a connection. • CarPlay. When an Audiobookshelf server is connected, an Audiobooks tab joins your library so you can browse and play on the road. • Apple Watch. Audiobooks can't be downloaded to the watch (due to the limited watch storage), so playback happens on your phone. Your music experience is untouched.
