### 2/5 — app crash

*2026-06-21*

dear support, please fix - app 2026.6.4 on iOS 16 crashing.

### 1/5 — Just paid $20 and shortcuts aren’t able to be imported?

*2026-06-03*

I just paid for this. You can’t export any of your shortcuts into the shortcuts app because they don’t allow unsigned shortcuts anymore. I shouldn’t have to develop my own workaround. Please update your app and retune my $

### 1/5 — Won’t open

*2026-04-27*

Not trying to bring your rating down or whatever, but it literally crashes right away. iPhone 15 iOS 18.7.2. Hope this helps you fix whatever bug this is.

**Developer response:** Well take a look. You can always request support by emailing support@jellycuts.com

### 3/5 — Updated review

*2026-04-17*

I received email from the developers indicating they had reconsidered their earlier position on grandfathered licenses. Indeed, I redownloaded the app and find that I appear to have access to the pro features again. However, I’ve moved on from Jellycuts and do not intend to reintegrate it back into my workflow. But I want to acknowledge their movement toward setting things right, so I have added two stars back to my previous rating.

Previous review:

Apple actually has Developer Guideline 3.1.2(a) covering the migration of a paid app to a subscription:

“If you are changing your existing app to a subscription-based business model, you should not take away the primary functionality existing users have already paid for. For example, let customers who have already purchased a ‘full game unlock’ continue to access the full game after you introduce a subscription model for new customers.”

The new owners intended to ignore this but grudgingly relented in the most inconvenient and annoying manner, and only after customer pushback. They don’t have a “perpetual license” as claimed on some of the developer responses in these reviews. Instead, they will only provide a 6 month or 1 year coupon for a basic subscription, and “perpetually licensed” users will have to remain vigilant to keep refreshing their subscription by pestering the support staff for new coupons before their previous coupon runs out. When I pointed this out, their “solution” was to send me several coupon codes with onerous terms stating that this was a one-time accommodation, that no additional credits will be provided, and that multiple coupons applied would run concurrently (meaning I have to bank the coupons and remember to apply them every year to avoid a paid subscription kicking in, and my “perpetual license” will no longer be honored). This is breathtakingly bad faith.

Any competent developer could enable checking for the non-consumable pro unlocks already purchased by previous buyers. All they would need to do is reenable the Restore Purchases functionality that they have hidden away and check for it just as they check for an active subscription. This is how a good faith company handles legacy license owners. And in fact, the JellyCuts app STILL (as of this writing) contains those non-consumable lifetime pro unlocks. This can be seen by checking the In-App purchases section below in the Information section. The pro unlocks offered by the previous developer are still there. But their engineers have refused to support any kind of in-app license authentication except subscription (this was confirmed to me in email exchanges with their support team), and Apple only allows max 1 year subscriptions.

There can only be one reason for this: they hope to scrape off difficult-to-refund charges from “perpetual license” users being inattentive to their coupons expiring or fed up with having to work to keep them active.

**Developer response:** We hear you. Especially as an early supporter.

Our goal is to respect what you already paid for while moving the product forward. We haven’t always made that clear.

We’re improving how legacy access works so it’s simple and doesn’t feel like something you have to manage. Restore is back up.

If you’re open to it, reach out at https://www.jellycuts.com/support we’ll take care of you directly.

Thanks for taking the time to say this.

### 3/5 — not good enough

*2026-04-05*

I imported the shortcut. but getting errors.

//Unable to get shortcuts action is.workflow.actions.getcurrentapp
//Unable to get shortcuts action com.apple.ShortcutsActions.GetMultitaskingModeAction
if(Multitasking Mode ==) {
//Unable to get shortcuts action com.apple.ShortcutsActions.SetMultitaskingModeAction
} >> IFResult1

### 4/5 — Had been improved, but …

*2026-04-04*

**Developer response:** Full documentation available on https://docs.Jellycuts.com

### 1/5 — После обновления не запускается (((

*2026-04-01*

Версия 2.6.4 работала отлично. Криворукие разработчики сломали приложение (((

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear that. Feel free to send a support request to https://jellycuts.com/support.

### 5/5 — A Titans Tool for the Tinkerers

*2026-03-21, version 2.6.3*

Jellycuts is hands-down one of the most exciting tools for anyone serious about Apple Shortcuts. It turns complex automation into something faster, cleaner, and far more powerful, with a coding-style approach that still feels accessible and fun. Writing shortcuts this way saves time, improves structure, and makes larger projects much easier to build, troubleshoot, and maintain. It bridges the gap between visual automation and real development beautifully. For power users, tinkerers, and anyone who wants to push Shortcuts beyond its usual limits, Jellycuts feels like unlocking a whole new level. Brilliant concept, fantastic execution, and genuinely useful every day too.

### 1/5 — Hasn’t worked for years

*2026-02-23*

This app was really amazing at first, but after offloading it, once I re-downloaded it… It stopped working completely. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled countless times and I still cannot get this app to work.

**Developer response:** thanks for sticking with us, even after all that frustration. That’s a rough experience, and we hear you.

We’ve made several improvements since then, especially around reinstall/offload issues like the one you described. Fingers crossed it’s now behaving the way it should.

If it’s still giving you trouble, we’d really like to help you get it working properly. You can reach us directly at https://www.jellycuts.com/support and we’ll dig in with you.

Appreciate you giving JellyCuts a shot.

### 1/5 — I've paid for an error message...

*2026-01-18, version 2.4.4*

I love the concept so decided to give it a try and take the basic membership. In the membership tiers page it states (paraphrasing) they all give the same outcome, so I thought to take basic and try it. Nothing works. Anything I compile leads to a broken code error message. I've contacted support. Crickets. Now sending this review in the hopes I'll get a reply and can try the service. Otherwise thanks for a Sterling example of broken, and a Magnum Opus of customer service firewalls (why am I creating a GitHub account to register bugs). 💔

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2026.6.4 — 2026-06-21

Bug fixes

### 2026.4.1 — 2026-04-03

We squashed a crash that hit when you were just trying to type — deleting text near comments or multi-line strings would occasionally nuke the whole app. Rude. That's fixed now. Type your emoji in peace.

If you ever offloaded JellyCuts and came back to "meta.json can't be opened" — yeah, we heard you. The app now actually finds your files again instead of staring blankly at where they used to be.
