## Newest reviews (10 of 30)

### 2/5 — Good when it works

*2023-08-17, version 4.1*

Often have to wait several days before the current and other missed days appear

### 2/5 — Buggy and terrible UI

*2018-02-07, version 3.0*

Most annoyingly app frequently crashes and then you have to laboriously navigate back to the same place. At least once or twice trying to read each issue.

Click read for an edition and a dialogue pops up asking if I want to download. If I wanted to I would have clicked download instead of read so why does the app need to ask this?

Great having supplements available but navigating them is unnecessarily complicated too. Why can’t app have a list where all are displayed at once.

Apps such as Readly provide a much better experience/UI in providing access to printed publications.

### 2/5 — Milky

*2014-03-25, version 1.5*

Worked fine for about a week now all I get is a black screen even after deleting and reinstalling several times, not even made locally and app support what app support I just get forwarded to a website,
Sort it out

### 1/5 — Misleading rip off

*2012-08-02, version 1.5*

The subscription is device specific i.e. if you buy it on a phone you would need to another subscription to use it on the Ipad! Total rip off. Terrible and useless.

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2012-06-13, version 1.5*

Would be better if it didn't need constantly deleting and re installing and was more user friendly such as telegraph and times newspaper apps which are great....

### 1/5 — Lacking in value

*2012-03-29, version 1.5*

Very much a missed opportunity - poorly implemented and chronically overpriced. I had such high hopes and was ready to be tempted back to the JEP fold....

### 1/5 — Very Poor Indeed

*2012-01-24, version 1.5*

Hard to use interface and frankly ludicrous subscription charges.

### 1/5 — Abismal!

*2012-01-15, version 1.5*

Not sure how they can justify charging this much money for a sub-par digital newspaper. Who would want to pay this much per month/year?

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2011-12-30, version 1.5*

My treat in life is to sit for the few minutes I have spare every day to read the newspaper on my iPad, so I was excited to see that the JEP had an iPad app. However after reading The Times for a year now, loving the quality of writing, video stories and amazing photographs, imagine my disappointment seeing that for nearly twice the price you get a two page scan of the JEP that when enlarged to a size you can read the pictures become blurred. Very poor show.

### 3/5 — Difficult to read

*2011-12-14, version 1.5*

Been waiting for this. But I must say it is not easy to read without zooming in a long way even on the iPad and by that time you get lost on the page. I was expecting something similar to the Sunday Times app where you can swipe side to side for different articles or up and down to scroll through articles without having to zoom in and is much more interactive.

### 1/5 — Still a poor app

*2020-08-06, version 3.3*

I’ve been using this app for years, and for years it’s seemingly had no updates or investment. Unfortunately this latest version seems to confirm this as well.

I’m using a 2018 iPad Pro, 10.5”, 256gb. (Fully up to date iOS). Hardly an out of date piece of kit, yet the performance of the app is horrific. Very slow and low resolution. Doesn’t scale properly when in landscape mode.
Also, where is the ‘close’ button..??! Sometimes I can close the edition I’m reading, but most of the time not and I have to close the app just to choose a different edition.
Search is still very bad, I fail to understand how the search indexer is able to miss so many items.

Please give higher priority to the search functionality, following that, proper resolution pictures... oh, and stop using basic images with text in that you can’t zoom in on to read!

### 1/5 — Absolute rubbish

*2017-07-14, version 3.0*

I have a subscription until 3 August. No way to restore purchases access account or contact anyone. Contacted the JEP last month about variance in price on their JEP and they denied app is anything to do with them. Complete waste of time.

### 1/5 — Update

*2017-07-13, version 3.0*

The update prevents you from getting in, I put in password, something that was not needed prior to update, keeps saying it's wrong, when you click on retrieve, nothing, still on sub from before update, no way in contact anyone to sort it.

### 1/5 — Really Poor

*2014-05-07, version 1.5*

Really, really poor. Not been able to read the paper for weeks using this App. Jep informed and nothing done to improve it. Save your money.

### 1/5 — Needs a lot of improvement!

*2014-04-07, version 1.5*

This app frequently crashes and often fails to recognise a valid subscriber. Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling resolves issues but not today so far! Just as well we have a physical delivery too as you cannot rely on this app being stable. JEP and developers you need to take note and do something about the issues. I don't actually ever recall there being an update unlike other apps.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2014-03-06, version 1.5*

This app is rubbish. I have to uninstall and then reinstall it to get it to work. This is because the app crashes every time I use it after first use.

### 1/5 — Hard to read

*2013-10-14, version 1.5*

After subscribing to The Daily Mail on my iPad, which has been especially reconfigured for digital reading, this is such a disappointment. From its extremely high price to poor quality reproduction, with print far too small.
It looks as if I shall have to give up reading the JEP as my eyes can no longer cope with newsprint.

### 1/5 — Crash

*2013-10-10, version 1.5*

Used to be reasonably stable. Although the interface could be better it does allow access to the full paper in a scanned way. Won't load at all now on any of my devices.

### 1/5 — Massively overpriced

*2013-02-27, version 1.5*

I used to live in Jersey some years back, when I found this app it was great to keep up to date and see the old places again. Then the free part ended and they wanted £15.99!! Wow, that's real money, but just not worth it. Now for £2/3 per month I'd have it. Review your pricing, it isn't worth £15.99 a month! A real shame and missed opportunity.

### 1/5 — GUERRINO BERTOZZI

*2012-12-21, version 1.5*

This APP DOES NOT WORK, waste of monies
GUERRINO

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great update

*2025-03-06, version 4.3.0*

JEP website and e-edition of paper nicely integrated in the app. Handy links to other All Island Media publishing assets such as the Bailiwick Express. Great job on what was no doubt a modest budget 👍💪👏😀

### 5/5 — Fantastic upgrade

*2025-03-06, version 4.3.0*

The new JEP app is huge improvement. I have long wanted to see up to date news as well as the paper - this will make keeping up to date with what’s happening in Jersey so much easier. The addition of interactive puzzles is a nice touch too - looking forward to the daily crossword on my iPad. This is a must-have for anyone who wants reliable local news and a bit of daily brain training!

### 5/5 — Quicker than paper copy

*2022-09-19, version 3.9*

Arrives quicker than the paper copy and great search functionality 👏👍

### 5/5 — Great

*2020-08-06, version 3.3*

It’s great to have access to local news on the go. The JEP’s digital edition has the ‘feel’ of a paper but the convenience of availability on a phone or tablet.

The user interface is easy to navigate. All round a solid app for staying up to date with everything that’s happening in Jersey.

### 5/5 — J-E-Pleased

*2020-08-05, version 3.3*

Great to get an app that keeps the feel of a newspaper but is easily accessible on a phone. JEP’s digital presence has been disappointingly slow to evolve but they now seem to have cracked it. Can navigate quickly & easily, picking out the articles you want while scrolling through, as you would a normal paper, including the ‘start from the back’ option for sports fans! Good one!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2020-07-31, version 3.3*

With the recent update to the app, I found it easy to use, fast and features a great back-catalogue of editions and supplements.

### 5/5 — Huge Improvement

*2017-07-17, version 3.0*

The new upgrade is a huge improvement in both functionality and looks. I now also get to see all the supplements which is a bonus.

### 5/5 — JEP!

*2011-12-21, version 1.5*

I am a jersey boy, I must say, great app!
Finally something from jersey, yay

### 4/5 — Don’t bother

*2020-07-15, version 3.2*

This new update kicked us off the system and we can’t get back on it again, along with the confusion regarding whether to subscribe via the app ( more expensive) or via JEP. Maybe an updated update will come along soon, but in the meantime we’ll just go online...

### 3/5 — Better

*2020-08-06, version 3.3*

Much easier to use after a number of goes at updating the app. However, the latest edition of the paper does not automatically appear each day (I am always left with yesterday’s edition).
I can find no facility to refresh to today’s edition.
