### 2/5 — Disappointing/addictive

*2025-09-28, version 7.2*

I’ve been playing this game for well over 8 years now almost every day. Jewel blitz has brought me much comfort when I’m bored having anxiety, etc. This game is great for someone who needs stimulation, who likes problem-solving, and puzzles. Over my years playing I’ve learned a couple of disappointments, the biggest one being in there’s no satisfaction of ever winning any real money. A couple years back, I got mailed a skillz coin for receiving a trophy that was well deserved (considering how much I play). I have completed almost every trophy that there is to be played, and I have put a lot of money into the game and have made NOTHING back. The free tournaments are fun for practice, and you need to play
A LOT of games to even get $0.60 for a pro tournament game. A lot of the times I feel like I’m playing a robot because every time it’s almost the same person or their score is way higher than mine and I just don’t think that’s accurate considering the circumstances. Not to mention the amount of money that you receive back from the tickets. You have to play an astronomically amount of games to even get a little bit of money back, that’s why it’s addictive. If you win 40K ticketz you can finally exchange the tickets for $2 and I promise you you’ll never up your money. Also playing soo many practice rounds will never be worth it because once you finally get that amount and play for real money you will always lose and then end up back to where you started. It’s a great game to play for fun, but I would never recommend putting real money into the game.

I enjoy the game - my only issue is when playing the $1 game, we are actually only winning thirty cent and not the full dollar. That’s definitely deception and false advertising which people can sue for but I digress.

### 1/5 — Beware of Scam!!!

*2023-08-03, version 6.0*

Like all Skillz ‘games’ this is actually a front for a scam. The developers initially incentivize you with lots of wins to keep playing and potentially add cash. However, after a while, the App will then repeatedly match you against the same ‘players’ who almost always win. I average approx. 38,000 in this game (relatively very high), but after winning too frequently, I’m then matched against 2-3 of the same people who score around 50,000! Honestly, I can’t even fathom how that’s humanly possible. I wrote in about this issue of matching against the same people who frequently win and they said that I should just practice and get better. Haha! First of all, my score wasn’t the point, it was the matching frequency, the near certain rate of these ‘opponents’ wins, and the inflated amounts they would consistently win by (I guess that was too hard for them to comprehend, and/ or they were differing because they knew it was true), but for additional qualification, I will note here I’ve played this game, and many like it, for about 7 years. I’m already at the upper level of what I can do for strategy, speed and what’s really possible. Now, if there are some people out there who can honestly and consistently score that high without cheating, my hats of to them! But the actual point remains … why then should I only play those players (about 95% of the time) after the initial wins? : D Great matching algorithm! : D If a fair matching algorithm did exist, then the litmus test would of course be the assortment: playing against a variety of people my same Skillz level who score differently, not the same people many many times my Skillz level, who almost always win!!! Haha! That’ll keep you in check - oh if you start winning, we’ll give you impossible odds! But that’s their point! Haha. - They only want your money, and don’t care about ethics. Another facet of the scam is how the developers will claim the matches have the ‘same pieces.’ I can see that. Ok. That may be the case, but then they certainly are not random; there is no way. Even if they claim they were randomly chosen, like in a potential response to this review - or the many other reviewers who experience the same - it may not be in the sense of random as we’d initially think: For example, there are many times when you initially play (after several days off or when opening the App the first times) that you’ll get multiple large 3x3 blocks at opportune times. Great! That’s fun. Later on, though, you’ll almost always receive 3x3s and long 5 section pieces that don’t fit at critical times. Our play style is not changing, but the game consistently becomes much harder, impossible even when the game is played much more often, and/ or when the stakes are higher! Haha. It’s not an average curve, there are consistent trends linked to usage and wins. When you play more, you’ll clearly be a victim to it, too. You can see other reviewers who note the same for a reason. The fact remains that if the difficulty can increase or decrease at these opportune times (or when first opening the App, compared to frequent usage) it already shows it’s clearly not ‘random’, it’s tailored to some degree. Any degree of tailoring means not truly random. And finally, I often get to the point where I have to wait for another opponent to join, but can pre-play a match. Hmmm. Have you ever noticed how most games like this are lost? Haha. I’ve lost most percentage of my games that way. I’m very suspicious they have an algorithm that analyzes your set score - or even the player’s who won more recently - and then determines the pieces for that player so the opponent then gets the ‘same pieces’, to check that claim box, but will likely have presented options that work better with their game set or aren’t at least impossible. As you can start to see, the technical language they claim under ‘player matching’, ‘random’ and ‘same pieces,’ is actually a clever way to rephrase other viable actions and pitfalls, any derivation or iteration thereof is a scam and built … to take your money. Sounds fun, right : D It’s the classic, cheap carnival swindle with the twist of a modern App -built against you. I’d stay clear of this game and actually all other Skillz schemes, too; what a lousy company - I’ve had so many negative experiences with them in other games, and with their unnecessarily and consistently rude representatives! I’m tired of being treated so poorly. I also have reported them to Apple for misleading statements. Let’s see if they remove this post, too! That would be fitting for their character. I think you can tell I have had an awful experience. There’s a reason for that.

### 1/5 — Scam! Scam! Scam!

*2023-06-22, version 6.0*

They match you consistently with players you can not beat. They say they take cheating seriously, but do nothing and I repeat nothing to stop the cheating. The same 4-5 players win every week and are actually members of the Skillz team. Unfortunately it would actually be fun if they did not limit your score so these same 4-5 players could win. They basically steal your money. Payouts are real, but you will never win. Kind of like playing a slot machine that you can only win 1 out of 100 spins.

### 1/5 — Took away my money and account!

*2021-06-16*

So I had three skillz accounts to play this game with. I did not know it “wasn’t allowed” to play with multiple accounts, I didn’t even use all of my accounts I was sticking to just one account. Just a few hours ago I decided to open the app because I wanted to play some more matches to win money but it logged me out of my account. Like I said in the beginning, I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to have multiple accounts. At first I thought I was hacked but I emailed skillz and they said they took away ALL of the money I had won and banned my accounts. All of these games created by skillz are rigged anyway. Completely unfair and stupid.

### 1/5 — Scam game.

*2021-01-22*

They get you excited to play as you initially win quite a bit. Then they “level you up” to play against people who are exponentially better than you are and then whatever you win is now lost. So they let you win a couple more times (probably to a bot or algorithm they’ve designed) to get you to keep playing. And like other reviews say, no, it isn’t because people don’t know how to play the game and that’s why they lose. You can play the game and have a great score and then sometime comes and beats you with 31,000 points. How is that even possible!? This game is all just a scam to get your money. Don’t waste your money playing on this or other skillz games. The house always wins.

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly

*2020-11-12, version 5.7*

Despite having the newest update and a full battery, the app crashes time after time. Now I get responses from support saying that my crash rate is too high to give my money back (happens with the second crash of the day). I’m sticking with Pocket7Games as this app is complete trash. Also, good luck trying to get your “free” money / winnings. SCAM

### 1/5 — I’d Love To Play This Game

*2020-10-24, version 5.7*

This game crashes constantly. They will always refund money quickly but I’d rather just play the game!

### 1/5 — Get kicked off during cash play

*2020-09-01, version 5.7*

I have been kicked off my game 4 times and it makes me regret adding money to my account and if it happens again I will never play this game again knowing this app keeps my dollar after kicking me off in the middle of a game. How can you swindle people out of money like that. It never kicks me off during practice games!

### 1/5 — Account terminated because I won!!

*2020-07-20*

I won first place and the prize was $700. I withdraw the money. I keep waiting for the money to arrive. After a week skillz support email me ( Brent ,Trust & Safety Agent) stating that my account was flagged for an in depth manual review by their team. They put the money back on my skillz account, then he ask to make a video of me playing 15 $1.00 game which I did right away and send the video via google drive. I withdraw the money again. Today I received an email from the same agent that my actions are in serious violation of their TOS 7.3. Now, I really don’t know what I did to be on the category of “cheating” but one thing for sure I did not cheat or anything and I did what you ask me to do. Brent did not replied to me after I ask him what I did bcos it pisses me off when you accused me of something without telling me why or what I did. I’m so disappointed I’ve been playing this game for so long!!

### 1/5 — Aborted

*2020-05-05, version 5.3*

So I finally uploaded money on the game and during my match the whole app crashed and when I loaded it back up it said I lose the match and took my money so I rematched the matched the app crashed again and said I aborted the match when I clicked back into the match mind you I DID NOT have any problems before uploading money once I uploaded the money the app started to crash and take my money I’m considering deleting the app

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2020-02-14*

I was skillz biggest fan! But since mislead purposely. I’m saying I am not impressed. Not only did I deposit money and not get my bonus cash but the friend who sent me the invite now will not receive his 10 dollars in bonus cash either. Not playing and my bank will refund the money. Filling a dispute now. High way robbery. Informing the BBB next. If we all come together on this they can not continue to take our money. The game is fun. But I do not like being lied to then talked to like i am illiterate. Wish I could give a zero star rating

### 5/5 — Never Boring

*2025-11-04, version 7.2*

“….this fast paced game is one for a person that is a tactician and a strategist - in order to secure a high score, you must “think” about every move so that you can be sure to leave enough spacing to continue to make and to explode lines of jewels! But despite the fact that you don’t need to have a high GPA to have fun, you will definitely need a sharp mind if you want to be a consistent winner!”

### 5/5 — Fun and mentally stimulating

*2025-03-09, version 7.2*

Would love it better if The tickets collected can be converted into cash from 10 K onwards

### 5/5 — Fun game can play for hours

*2024-11-23, version 7.2*

Great way to pass time!

### 5/5 — Constantly crashes

*2024-10-25*

Game constantly crashes. They will not refund money asThey state that I have exceeded the amount eligible to be refunded. This is absurd because the game is crashing/aborted. If I’m going to lose money I’d rather lose it against another opponent. I do not recommending depositing money to play this game.
