## What is jfControl Lite?

With this app you are able to remotely control your Mac from anywhere in your apartment. (Wi-Fi required)

Switch it off from the bedroom, turn up the volume from the kitchen, control a full keynote presentation or just start a video sitting on the couch in front of your Mac Mini that is connected to your HDTV.

No hassling around with IP addresses, nothing to config, just install the free helper application on your Mac and it just works. Thank you bonjour.

Even older macOS versions (with Front Row) are supported, just make sure your Mac is running at least OS X 10.4.

This app is useful, as it does what it says. 
However on some Macs you have to disable the stealth Mac OS firewall. In these cases you have to decide whether this app's usefulness is more important than the security a stealth firewall gives.

As apple have now enabled media sharing over a network I needed an app that could remotely sleep my iMac so when I have finished watching/listening I didn't have to do it manually, especially as I watch things in bed and my iMac is downstairs.  This does that, now if it could wake on LAN that would make it 5 stars for me

This app is not free as far as I can tell.  When I was lucky enough to reach the publisher's web site (which was rare) it showed the Mac server required to make this work was not free.

....which is to control the volume and to skip through songs on my mac when I'm in bed and am too lazy to keep getting up!

However, nothing else seems to work for me. I can't send my Mac to sleep and iTunes just won't open unless I go to my computer and do it manually.

It's a bit disappointing because it'd be so much more useful if it did actually work the way it should!
