### 2/5 — Could be better

*2018-11-12*

On the whole I think that having the app makes life easier than tinkering with individual thermostats, especially if you have multiple rooms.

My main gripes are:

1: Whilst you can adjust the temperature settings for each area temporarily say until the next time period, you can’t permanently do this on the app. So say you want the day time temp to be 21 and it’s currently set at 20 you could change it for that day for one or all areas on the app but if you wanted it to be a permanent adjustment you would have to do it on the thermostat- seems to defeat the point of having the app in my view.

2: The app is quite slow to show that it has adjusted the target temperature when you have changed it. Sometimes it might take a minute or two which makes you think it hasn’t worked.

3: Similar to point 2: the system is often quite slow to indicate that it has switched the heating on or off in response to your adjustments making it uncertain whether your inputs have worked or not. Sometimes this takes a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes.

I have no frame of reference in respect of other heating systems but in my view I am a little bit disappointed to have spent all this money for a system that needs quite a few improvements. If they addressed these issues then I would be very happy.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Absolute rubbish

*2024-09-21*

Regularly logs me out and I can’t log back in for days. Very clunky. Jg useless at support. No one gets back.

I have tried with our heating engineer to use a different system and you can’t.

Just absolutely rubbish.

### 1/5 — It really is the worst app on my phone

*2024-01-07*

It’s like an app from when iPhones were first launched. So buggy, inappropriate image on loading screen and so unintuitive. Deserves 0 stars.

### 1/5 — Too slow and dated

*2023-12-14*

The app is not responsive. When you open it shows the last setting and temperature. So in morning it will show 23 and the sun on icon. You have to go in and out of it a few times before it goes to the correct temperature. Support fix this app

### 1/5 — Utter garbage design by pre school kids

*2022-12-26*

What an utter rubbish . Pages and pages of agreements to read .
Speedfit used to be the best orifice it’s now mediocre at best . The design department have no practical skills or real world experience of using their own product .
Was a great product now sadly just average . Plenty of better alternatives which are cheaper

### 1/5 — Slow and glitchy

*2022-03-18*

For years now the app has been slow to accept instructions causing me to repeat 2 or 3 times. It’s logs me out all the time and now today has refused to let me log in, telling me to verify my email. No way to do this. Have messaged John Guest. An absolute nightmare to use.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2022-03-18*

I have never bothered to review an app before but this app is so bad. Logs you out every day, instructions aren’t accepted first time, takes 4/5 attempts. Terrible unintuitive interface. Feels like it was designed in the 90s. Awful

### 1/5 — Shocking

*2021-11-24*

I’m infuriated on a daily basis with this app. No idea what my heating is doing. App clunky and never seems to accept my instruction. Delayed response always when change settings. Can’t install Hive as apparently that’s max 3 zones which can’t work for me. Feel trapped. JG you must listen and do something and fast. Your credibility is going down the pan fast.

### 1/5 — Poor, outdated and obsolete app

*2020-10-13*

It’s a shame the App lets down a reasonable UFH system - JG you should be ashamed.

I enquired of JG if they intended to make the system open so 3rd party app developers could integrate their very poor functionality into a generic home control system - JG said they had no plans to do so.

I’d advise anyone contemplating JG UFH to use other systems as this is a major problem for modern households.

### 1/5 — Infuriating- needs updates!

*2020-09-29*

To have invested so much money on hardware and then to then find the app so poor, glitchy lacking updates and features makes me angry.
JG need to sort this out!!
1. App keeps forgetting log in info requiring it to be entered each time of use.
2. Permanent altering of set temperatures via app not possible. Entering this info via multiple thermostat is laborious.
3. Dated interface.
4. Lack of instructions/ guidance on the app.
5. iPad version required to allow easier control and set up.

The capability is clearly there in the hardware with only a lack of commitment from JG in supporting a proper app required to make this a fully useful system. For me to have spent £2K+ on heating controls only to then discover these flaws after makes me wish I had done proper research.
I feel cheated.

### 2/5 — Not improved enough

*2023-08-05*

The app has a remarkable lag between commands and actual boiler actions; it isn’t updated enough and whilst it does the job it is nowhere near other smart apps for heating controls. Come on John Goodman Speedfit, do something!

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 4/5 — Better

*2022-03-20*

New update is welcomed and heading in the right direction.

Although still far away from so many great heating apps like the Nest, it is much improved.

May I also suggest the removal of the female model from the login of the app. In the 21st century it’s a bit outdated.

### 4/5 — Please can you make the app remember my login details

*2020-01-02*

Everytime I login I have to retype my user name and password even though I’ve ticked the box! Very annoying if you could fix I’d be very grateful!! Thank you!

### 4/5 — Its Good

*2019-11-11*

I purchased all the parts for this system and then read the reviews. I was a bit concerned as they were pretty negative. Having got everything up and running a couple of weeks ago im actually very impressed. Yes, its a little bit slow to update when you change a parameter, but this isnt a big problem at all. Overall very good.

### 3/5 — Good app but it has its limitations

*2025-08-13*

I find the app pretty easy to use but occasionally some of the thermostats go off line and therefore it is not possible to change those particular ones… currently the whole system is inaccessible …so June 2025 bug fixes didn’t fix the issue with not being again to log into the App….

### 3/5 — Problems

*2022-10-30*

I have a lot of problems with the time and thermostats not responding especially hot water

### 3/5 — Fundamentally sound BUT……

*2022-03-17*

Dear JG

I recently upgraded / renovated my house and after much research i opted for a premium solution in the way if JG Aura. Having used Speedfit since its beginnings i knew i could expect high performance & reliability… which i have to say i did get. I am very satisfied will the system as a whole, and even with the app until it was updated to 1.8.6!! Since then it simply does not work, or works the odd time. i have an old iphone5 which still runs version 1.8.5 and this works all the time, every time!!

I am, quite frankly surprised that a well respected stoic dynasty like JG would allow this level of performance from one of their products… BTW i am well aware of the salus hardware but i did not buy the salus, i bought the jg!!!

This app has the potential to be absolutely great… The gui is second to none and with just a few features added it would still be easy to operate and meet all needs.

Please sort this issue out asap either by rolling the version back or another update.

JG…. please do not fall into the trap of updating for the sake of it. I am a controls engineer and know a fundamentally good product when i see it… i know its not a hive and not a nest…. I didnt buy or want these or like their gui…. i wanted and indeed had a JG system that just worked with no fuss, until the last update..

I take great pride in endorsing your product to others in the professional arena who tryst me… please do not embarrass me by spinning out a flakey update…

I trust you will resolve this and take my comments seriously

   Happy to discuss in person

  Ray Brown

### 2/5 — Dated Troublesome App

*2023-01-28*

Main gripes:

Login page needed every time app is restarted
Poor swipe gesture when moving from 1st to second page of zones
Reordering of zones page has confirmation buttons chopped off (so you can’t confirm any changes)
Screen doesn’t update immediately when you change a setting eg. Selecting night setting doesn’t instantly update to Moon symbol

Slow, clunky, several bugs, user unfriendly overall.

### 2/5 — Okay, but miles from being very good

*2022-03-14*

Looks like the app was designed in the 00s, or was designed by someone who clearly isn’t a designer. It just about does it’s job of showing and setting thermostat temperatures, timers and so on, but it’s just really quite clunky. If your plumber didn’t give you any choice in what system you were getting then, like us, you’re stuck with it. Does the job, just about.

### 2/5 — Keeps forgetting login information

*2018-12-27*

Since the recent update, after about 2 days, the app just simply forgets my login information even though the “remember information“ button is ticked
