## What is Jia Journal?

Jia is a private journal for the thoughts that do not fit neatly into a template.

Type freely on a continuous ruled page, or tap Talk it out and speak your mind. Your words become a journal entry you can return to, shape, and understand over time.

Jia is designed to feel less like a text box and more like a real journal.

Write on a calm ruled page that scrolls with you. Start with a sentence, a long reflection, or a thought you do not fully understand yet. No rigid templates. No pressure to make it sound polished.

When writing feels too slow, use voice. Talk naturally and let your thoughts land on the page as text.

AI THAT HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU WROTE

Jia uses AI that works inside your journal page, not another chatbot to keep up with. Here is what it actually does:

• While you write, it can leave a short note beside your words — a question worth sitting with, or a gentler way to read what you just said
• Ask it for a second perspective on your entry, any time, right on the page
• When you finish an entry, it can point out what seemed to matter most
• Over time, it notices themes that keep coming back across your entries

It never rewrites your words and never takes over the page. Use it every day or not at all — the journal works fully without it.

Your entries are stored in your own iCloud, not on our servers. Voice journaling is transcribed entirely on your device. You can journal offline. The AI reads your words only when you use an AI feature, to generate that one response; your entries are never stored on our servers.

Journal customization
Touch and hold your journal cover to enter customization mode. Change the cover texture, add and place stickers, and change the strap. Your cover is saved with your journal and carries through everywhere it appears, including the opening animation.

Scanning improvements
Scanning a written page is noticeably more accurate. We improved how text is recognized and how scanned pages flow into your entry, so more of what you wrote comes through correctly on the first try. Scans started without a connection now wait on the page and fill in automatically once you're back online.
