### 3/5 — Its not free

*2026-06-15*

You should tell it before I just wasted my 5 min after installing this..

### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-05-23*

May Allah forgive me for my ignorance. I was not aware how ignorant I was until I downloaded this app. I have already learned so much. And I am implementing it as I learn. Alhamdulilaah. May Allah bless the makers of this app. Worth the money.

### 5/5 — My review

*2026-03-05, version 1.7.5*

I love this app it teaches me a lot cuz I do t have any ilm classes.

### 3/5 — More transparency

*2026-03-05*

I wish you told costumer that this is a paid app at the very beginning, before making the costumer take quizzes and waste their time in case they aren’t willing to pay. However overall good app and UI

**Developer response:** Salaam Shadeeerhefigo 👋 Thank you for your feedback and for the kind words about the app and UI! You raise a valid point about transparency. We do offer a 7-day free trial so users can explore the full app before committing, and we're always looking to improve how we communicate this upfront. We'll take your suggestion on board and work on making it clearer from the start that a subscription is needed after the trial. We appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. Please do keep us in your duas 🤲 Barakallahu feekum - Jibreel Team

### 3/5 — Great idea for an Islam learning app, but lacking in customer support

*2026-03-02*

Downloaded this app to trial and see if it was worth a paid membership. Brilliantly designed and very user friendly. However it’s let down but the lack of app support (sent a query on four days ago via the email address and still no response). As well, I wanted my son to use it, so to help his development in the deen. However, once you select a DoB, it’s impossible to delete your profile and start afresh with new user’s DoB. Therefore, younger users will be privy to knowledge which contain mature themes. I believe with some focus on customer support, it can go far.

**Developer response:** Salaam Mm805 👋 I pray that you are doing well! JazakAllahu khayr for such detailed and thoughtful feedback. First, we sincerely apologise for the delayed response to your email - this is not the standard we hold ourselves to and we are actively working on improving our support response times. Regarding the DoB and profile issue, thank you for flagging this. We completely understand your concern about younger users accessing mature content and we are working on making profile management more flexible inshaAllah. We want Jibreel to be safe and appropriate for all ages. It warms our hearts that you want your son to benefit from the app mashAllah! Could you please email us again at salaam@jibreel.app referencing this review? We'd love to personally help resolve your account issue and ensure your son has the right experience. Barakallahu feekum - Jibreel Team

### 2/5 — Great concept, wish it was free

*2026-02-24*

After the 7 day free trial you have to subscribe to use the app, so cost is a barrier to accessing this resource unfortunately. Some people are living paycheck to paycheck and in debt. If I had the money to subscribe, I would. But when you don’t even know how you’ll afford your meals for the week, paying for any app or non-essential service feels unfeasible. I don’t have any streaming services or subscriptions in general besides $3/month for my phone storage because my phone would be unusable without it. I think the app concept is great, but this type of information should be more easily accessible to Muslims who don’t have tons of financial resources. I hope the app developers can find a way to address this barrier so that this reaches more people inshallah.

**Developer response:** Assalamu alaykum Hotsaucemom 👋 I pray that you are doing well. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and honest review. It really touched me reading about your situation and I want you to know that we genuinely care. We never want financial barriers to stop anyone from learning about their deen. Your feedback about accessibility is something we take to heart and are actively working on. We are exploring ways to make Jibreel more accessible to those who need it most including student pricing and other options inshaAllah. Please do reach out to us at salaam@jibreel.app and let us see what we can do for you personally inshaAllah. We would never want someone in your situation to feel excluded from accessing Islamic knowledge. May Allah make things easy for you and your family. We ask that you keep us in your duahs 🤲 Barakallahu feekum Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 2/5 — Options de langue comme le français

*2026-02-23*

Please do keep us in your duas 🤲 Barakallahu feekum - Jibreel Team

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Difficult to contact

*2026-07-08*

My app is not working and I have paid for a years subscription. I emailed but no answer.

### 1/5 — Not free like pillars

*2026-06-04*

I was excited to see this within the pillars app but so disappointed to see it doesn’t even have a free option. I hate all apps that try to hide behind a trial and have no free option. Disappointed to see the same from this app seeing how it was recommended by Pillars

### 1/5 — Expensive

*2026-03-11*

Salam alaykum

First things first,

I love the app. It is everything I was looking for, but sub Han Allah it costs 22.50 a month to learn about your religion.
I really wanted to learn but I didn’t think it would require hundreds of dollars a year. Sorry but I don’t recommend to young people who don’t have their own money.

**Developer response:** Wa alaykum assalam L.el.s 👋 I pray that you are doing well! It really pains me so much to see you've left our team a 1-star review 😢 especially because you love the app! Our team have worked SO incredibly hard to build Jibreel from scratch and reinvent the way we learn fiqh. We want to make learning fiqh easy, simple and accessible. We completely understand that the price may feel high and we appreciate your honesty about that. As I'm sure you appreciate we have poured an incredible amount of resources, time and effort into making Jibreel exist. Unfortunately, in building an app like this you need a lot of skilled people including designers, developers, content managers and scholars! Making a high quality well-made app takes a lot of time and money. We're proud to say that we pay our scholars at Jibreel. We just launched a family plan to give families a cheaper option and are always exploring other ways to make Jibreel more affordable inshaAllah. We really would kindly request you re-consider removing this review! It has a significantly negative impact on our ability to grow and do good. We also pray that as we grow we will have a stronger ability to bring prices down inshaAllah too! We ask for your forgiveness and pray that you can keep us in your duahs 🤲 Barakallahu feekum Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 1/5 — Refused to give me a refund

*2026-03-03*

I signed up for the 7 day trial and forgot to cancel, and was shortly charged the entire year £59 for an app that I never used.
Charging a full year immediately after such a short trial is very sneaky.
My refund request was rejected twice, so I contacted the developers with a heartfelt email appealing to their good nature, explaining my financial situation and asking for refund.
They never replied.
I eventually had to escalate with Apple customer service who were far more helpful than the developers themselves.
The lack of communication and unwillingness to help left me feeling that this app just wanted to take my money. I do not recommend.

**Developer response:** Assalamu alaykum Gremlins1 👋 I pray that you are doing well. I believe we did get back to you but appreciate there may have been some delay (we're a small and very stretched team)! I want to be transparent: all refund decisions are made by Apple and not by us directly. When users request refunds through Apple, we unfortunately have no control over whether they are approved or rejected. Please do reach out to us again at salaam@jibreel.app and I will personally make sure your email is responded to inshaAllah. We genuinely care about every single user and it pains me deeply that your experience left you feeling this way. We ask for your forgiveness and pray that you can keep us in your duahs 🤲 Barakallahu feekum Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 1/5 — :(

*2026-03-01, version 1.7.4*

claimed to want to help muslims learn about the deen but charge them immediately. great! let’s take our money from peoples pockets in the name of guidance

### 1/5 — Cancelled Trial but still charged for the year

*2026-02-25*

I signed up for the free trial, didn’t find it suitable for my needs, and cancelled within the trial period. Later, I decided to give the app another chance and signed up for a second free trial again cancelling on time but this time I was charged for a full year.

I’ve contacted support multiple times requesting a refund, but unfortunately there has been no proper resolution.

As a tech entrepreneur, I completely understand how subscription models work. That said, charging a customer for an annual plan after a cancelled trial and then refusing to prorate or offer any flexibility is not aligned with modern, customer-first SaaS practices. In most platforms, if a user has paid for a year but doesn’t continue, at least a partial refund or prorated adjustment is offered.

Regarding the product itself, the learning experience feels very rigid. You cannot skip lessons or move freely between topics you are forced to follow a fixed schedule. As a user, you have no real freedom to choose what you want to learn or focus on, which makes the experience frustrating and not personalized.

At this point, I’ve accepted the charged amount as a form of “charity,” which is disappointing.

The app has potential, but:
	•	The billing and refund process needs serious improvement
	•	The learning flow is too restrictive and not user-driven
	•	The overall experience does not justify a yearly commitment

I hope the team rethinks both their subscription handling and the product flexibility, because with the right improvements this could be a much better platform.

**Developer response:** Assalamu alaykum R@J2310913 👋 I pray that you are doing well. Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback. As a fellow tech entrepreneur I really respect and appreciate your perspective. I'm truly sorry about the billing experience you had. I want to clarify that all refund decisions are handled by Apple directly and unfortunately we have no control over whether they approve or reject a request. However, your feedback about offering more flexibility such as prorated refunds is something we are actively looking into inshaAllah. Regarding the learning experience being too rigid, this is really valuable feedback. We are working on improvements to give users more freedom to explore topics at their own pace inshaAllah. We want Jibreel to feel personalised and empowering not restrictive. I would love to discuss your feedback further and see what we can do to make things right. Please do drop us an email at salaam@jibreel.app and I will personally look into your case inshaAllah. We genuinely care about every user and want to do right by our community. We ask for your forgiveness and pray that you can keep us in your duahs 🤲 Barakallahu feekum Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 1/5 — Petition to make Jibreel free for Ramadan!

*2026-02-18*

Loved the app aesthetics and down to the knowledge gains. Goes from very basic to a very well educated level. Sources are not mapped but seem authentic enough

Only thing is that its honestly not affordable. I feel knowledge like this should not be gatekept. That said I understand there are costs involved in making a product live. But still, here is my petition to make Jibreel free at least for Ramadan

Eg: see how Bevel did. They made their platform free for everyone- nothing gatekept…

**Developer response:** Assalamu alaykum needforsoundmusic 👋 I pray that you are doing well! Thank you so much for your kind words about Jibreel and for this really thoughtful suggestion. It really means a lot that you appreciate the aesthetics and the knowledge you've gained from the app! We love the idea of making Jibreel more accessible during Ramadan and it's something we are genuinely considering inshaAllah. We completely understand that affordability is a concern and we never want cost to be a barrier to learning our beautiful deen. We do offer a 7-day free trial so you can experience the full app! As I'm sure you appreciate we have poured an incredible amount of resources, time and effort into making Jibreel exist. Unfortunately, in building an app like this you need a lot of skilled people including designers, developers, content managers and scholars! This takes a lot of time and money. We're proud to say that we pay our scholars at Jibreel. We really would kindly request you re-consider the 1-star rating as it has a significantly negative impact on our ability to grow and do good especially since you clearly enjoy the app! We also pray that as we grow we will have a stronger ability to bring prices down and offer more free access inshaAllah. We ask for your forgiveness and pray that you can keep us in your duahs 🤲 Barakallahu feekum Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 1/5 — Sleazy marketing, sketchy app

*2026-02-16*

After about 300 screens you are shown that this costs money, an egregious amount. They’re marketing guilt trips you using Quran and Hadith to extract money from users.

And they only show you the cost after you enter lots of information about yourself and your goals.

I wouldn’t go near this app with a 10 foot pole. Smells super fishy and sketchy. Something is very wrong here. Stay away. Pretty sure this is a data collection app.

(Otherwise a great idea, great design, but incredibly deceptive).

**Developer response:** Assalamu alaykum Broccoli Person 👋 I pray that you are doing well. I'm sorry that your experience with Jibreel left you feeling this way and I want to address your concerns directly. Firstly, Jibreel is absolutely not a data collection app. We take user privacy extremely seriously and do not sell or misuse any user data. Our onboarding asks about your goals and experience level so that we can personalise your learning journey which is a standard practice for educational apps. Regarding the pricing, we are transparent about the subscription on our paywall which clearly shows the price and includes a free trial. We understand that seeing the cost after going through onboarding can feel frustrating and that is something we are always looking to improve. We also never intend to guilt anyone into paying. Our use of Quran and Hadith is because we are an Islamic education app and these are the foundations of what we teach. I appreciate that you acknowledged the great design and idea behind Jibreel. Our team have worked incredibly hard to build something special for the Muslim ummah. Please drop us an email at salaam@jibreel.app if you have any further concerns inshaAllah. We ask for your forgiveness and pray that you can keep us in your duahs 🤲 Barakallahu feekum Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 1/5 — payment issues

*2026-02-16, version 1.7.2*

took the whole years payment after advertising it as monthly payments. can not even contact anyone to try to get matter to resolve.

### 1/5 — Absurd disregard for ikhtilaf

*2026-02-16*

In the initiatory quiz it asks you a question about ghusl and claims that rinsing the nose is mandatory but making the intention is not.

This is entirely incorrect in the Shafi’i madhab and you cannot find a single ruling that implies otherwise. Rather, it is the other way around; making ghusl without the intention is INVALID and rinsing the nose is only a Sunnah (See Seeker’s Guidance Fatwa on the issue). Change the app to reflect proper ikhtilaf (since I believe this is ONLY the stance of the Ahnaf being reflected)!

**Developer response:** Assalamu alaykum RupertoftheRhine 👋 I pray that you are doing well. Thank you for raising this important point about ikhtilaf. You are absolutely right that this is a matter where the madhahib differ and we take scholarly accuracy very seriously at Jibreel. Currently our content is based primarily on the Hanafi madhab and we acknowledge that we need to do a better job of making this clear to users and reflecting the valid differences of opinion that exist across the madhahib. Adding Shafi'i content is actually next on our roadmap inshaAllah and we are actively working on it. Your feedback about the ghusl question is really valuable and I have flagged it with our content and scholarly review team to ensure we address this properly. We never want to present one madhab's position as the only correct ruling when there is legitimate scholarly difference. I would really appreciate it if you could drop us an email at salaam@jibreel.app with any other specific examples you've noticed so we can review and correct them inshaAllah. Barakallahu feekum for caring about the accuracy of Islamic knowledge being taught. Abdul-Rahman Co-Founder of Jibreel

### 5/5 — Amazing but not for free

*2026-03-22*

I really like the app and the goal for the app to help the Muslim ummah! I have always wanted an app to easily learn fiqh and Islamic knowledge from with information from actual scholars. The only downside of the app is that you have to pay for it which I understand because it isn’t easy to create an app. I hope that insha Allah there can be a free or cheaper option in the future. Jazak Allah!
