## What is Jig Beat?

JigBeat is a calm winter tapping game with one rule: land your taps on the beat.

A takes your jig at the bottom of the hole. Every tap that lands inside the green window is one pull, four pulls lift her a floor, and when she clears the top floor she is yours. Tap off the beat and the floor you were filling empties out.

That is the whole game. Everything else is the water around it.

• One finger, one tap, no menus in the way — a ring closes on the jig once per beat and you tap when it meets
• The early holes are two floors deep at a gentle sixty beats a minute; later ones go three, four and five floors, and the beat quickens as you go
• Three per hole, three slips per floor — a slip costs you the floor, not the whole climb
• 36 holes across three chapters, three stars each: one for the quota, one for losing, one for landing 85% of your taps on the beat
• A logbook of ten species, from a palm-sized perch to the Ridge Mother Pike who takes two extra pulls a floor
• Endless Jig for the record chasers — every few the hole gets deeper and the beat gets faster
• A daily rhythm and three daily tasks, with a streak that pays for coming back
• Six branches of tackle: a wider beat window, a stronger line, a longer stove, a louder metronome
• Weather that rules the whole day — Hard Frost makes heavy, Thaw slows the water, a Blizzard forgives one more slip
