A friend who has been through this already recommended JimmyBrings. We downloaded the app seamlessly and had delivery to our quarantine hotel in 20 minutes! No hassle, straightforward and good value for money. Super simple to place the order, plenty of choices for drinks. I’ve only used it once so far but expect it will become a staple. Plenty of choice at various price points, good app, easy to use, simple tracking of order status, quick delivery and the nicest delivery person imaginable. Probably not for a full cellar restock, but for quick turnaround when needed it’s brilliant. Go, Jimmy’s! ### 5/5 — Finally a decent delivery service in Adelaide! *2020-10-09* So happy to be able to have drinks and snack delivered quickly at night in sleepy Adelaide. This service is half the price of the big boys (airtasker, Dan Murphy, BWS). All of the major chains apps came out with a bang, advertising delivery in 30 min etc in Australia but Adelaide was left behind, with orders after midday often not coming until the next day (or even until the next Monday or Tuesday if it’s near the end of the week) and delivery plus order minimum ends up being very expensive. As a vision impaired person I can’t just jump in the car like other people and finally have some more independence and it’s affordable. I’ve been recommending these guys left and right. Update - just wanted to say thanks for changing to plain bags. I have very nosy neighbours and even though I am a once a month drinker at most, I could hear them gossiping about my having alcohol delivered. Now as far as they know it’s Uber Eats. Now I just have to listen to them gossiping about me ordering food LOL. ### 5/5 — Awesome service, Fantastic app! *2020-09-29, version 3.5.2* Super easy App to order lockdown beers! The beer was delivered, COLD, to my hotel in less than :30 minutes. The app was easy to navigate and order from. The only difficulty was putting on my overseas phone number. Finally cheated a little and got it In. It was super nice to have a cold beer inn quarantine! The delivery is always fairly fast, the drivers are really friendly and the range of offerings is great! During lockdown these guys definitely gave me a helping hand! It was around 9pm on a Friday night and I didn’t think I was going to make it to the bottle shop before it closed (especially since I had already had a few drinks and didn't want to risk being over the limit driving) I got online after seeing the ad for Jimmy brings on TV and was very impressed with the prices (only a few dollars more than the bottle shop) and delivery was less than $5. Whilst there was a few limitations on the range (sizes of the bottles available) I didn’t mind because I was happy to negotiate on this for the convenience of reasonably priced, and home delivered, alcohol at 9pm on a Friday night. I also liked that I was able to track my order via the app so I knew it’s progress and was able to meet the driver downstairs for contact free delivery The service was efficient, friendly and reasonably priced. I will definitely be using Jimmy brings again and will not hesitate to recommend this safe and efficient service to anyone ### 5/5 — Great service and easy to use app *2020-04-18* Friend recommended and said was fast delivery and good service. I ordered the other night and they were not exaggerating. Ordering on the app was easy. They do hav a limited range but was happy to try new brands. Ordered the organic Shiraz and was pleasantly surprised. Service was within the 20 mins and delivery guy was friendly. Delivery charge was also really reasonable. Gave 5 stars but the checkout with PayPal had to manually enter the name and password instead of it auto filling. As this could be a paypal thing I rated 5 stars. The future is here ladies and gentlemen. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible! *2022-04-14* I went on the app wanting to get a 10 pack of smirnoff double blacks, however, the only options were a four pack and an eight pack; smirnoff does not carry eight packs, i had to get two four packs so jimmy brings could get more money. i could have gone to a bottle shop and got a ten pack cheaper than what i paid to them. i ordered the ‘eight pack’ and about an hour later got a notification my driver was arriving, so i went out side to meet them. i ended up waiting in the rain outside for about 25 minutes because my tracking map showed that my driver was at macdonalds! i then contacted customer service and they gave me an automated reply of ‘hi there’ then continued to not reply. do not recommend, just drive to the bottle shop to avoid this big mess of a company. ### 1/5 — Failed to Deliver *2020-12-10, version 3.8* I set up an account, placed an order, and paid for it. Received the confirmation e-mail right away that the charge had gone through. The order details said 15-30 minute delivery, but I’m still waiting 3 hours later. Furthermore, there is no way to cancel the order, and they do not answer e-mails to customer service. As soon as I can confirm I received a refund, I’m deleting the app and my account. ### 1/5 — Zero Support *2020-11-04, version 3.5.2* Won’t let order because it says app needs to be updated. App is updated and doesn’t work. Called three times and no one answers. Terrible service. ### 1/5 — Regularly missing items! Poor customer service! *2020-06-08* I’d say it was about 50/50 chance whether any of my orders contained all the items expected. To add insult to the situation on my last order the missing items were cigarettes worth $40 - the driver went back through the bags at the door confirming no cigarettes there; then he went back to his car searching and looking at the road to see if they’d fallen out. When he couldn’t find them he gets back in his car saying “call the office.” I found this strange if it was standard procedure.. but I emailed immediately explaining the situation. Three days later still no acknowledgement of email or refund showing for missing items. Until finally I get a reply from Mel accusing me of not going through the bags with the driver, saying they’d spoken to him and he said I didn’t go through the bags with him, and the packing team confirmed the item was in there. I got the refund but now they would be keeping an eye on my orders! What a joke! It would have made sense to also call me to get my version of events before accusing me! I guess the customer isn’t always right but Jimmy is... Safe to say I’ll not be using Jimmy again. ### 3/5 — Not what I ordered *2020-08-16* I would have thought that for such a limited variety I would have expected to at least get what I paid for. Instead of calling and being like sorry we don’t have that in stock they substituted with a completely different type of whiskey because you know it all tastes the same apparently. Wouldn’t have been such a huge issue to just return it if I wasn’t in isolation, though if I wasn’t id have just gone and got my boos my self. Great customer service though. And the lady on the phone was as helpful as possible. I’ll just be sober tonight as a result. **Developer response:** Ohhh, sorry to hear this. Thanks for your understanding, and apologies again! 🍻 ### 3/5 — Great but the tech needs work *2020-07-12* Awesome company - but your app/tech needs a lot of work, it’s crashed for the last week and it’s pretty difficult/impossible to know if/when my order is coming. ### 4/5 — Convenient sevice *2019-07-19* Jimmy has helped me out plenty of times when getting to a bottle shop wasn't possible. Delivery times have always been good, and he's been very accommodating on the couple of occasions I messed an order up. Prices are a little high, but you pay for the convenience, although there's a delivery charge, so that's confusing; nevermind I'll be back. Only “flaw” is the loyalty deals or recommend a friend codes aren’t easy to access once you’re in checkout. You have to go out of checkout and copy it. But as flaws go, it’s definitely not a deal breaker! The customer service was amazing and the delivery was so quick! Not even 20 minutes! I don’t live in Australia so I couldn’t use the app for delivery but I called their phone line and it was super easy. Will recommend to anyone visiting Sydney that doesn’t have a car!
