Since Jiobit uses Bluetooth as part of its hybrid tracking system, it can mistakenly assume an unknown device is nearby and update the location incorrectly. A fix would be to add a “Trusted Bluetooth Devices” list in the Life360 app so the Jiobit only pairs with approved devices, or to filter Bluetooth updates against GPS before accepting them. ### 3/5 — Jiobit for my child *2025-06-27, version 1.27.0* I am a very anxious mom especially in today’s world currently and this at least gives me peace of mind, knowing where my child is when he’s at summer camp or school. ### 2/5 — Let me go into live mode when I say *2024-07-21, version 1.24.0* I will re-review this app once the software allows me to choose when to "go into live mode." I don't care if you think I am "still in a trusted location" I want to be able to choose when to go into live mode and see right where my dog is. ### 2/5 — Frustrated *2024-07-20, version 1.24.0* We got jiobit for our son to go to school just as a precaution. Worked well notifications were laggy. We recently got him an iPhone and canceled our subscription and they continue to try to take money out. Luckily our account is locked due to fraud but even after 2 emails and they saying everything is all set. Very frustrating! ### 2/5 — App not accepting payment and locked out of account *2024-07-10, version 1.24.0* I was really looking forward to setting up the jiobit when I received it yesterday. I made an account on the app the day before in anticipation of receiving the device. I go through the steps of setting up the device and when it’s time to process my payment for the subscription, it keeps taking me back to the same payment screen. I deleted and reinstalled the app, and now I can’t login to my account. When I try to login, it keeps asking for my phone number to send the confirmation number to. It’s basically asking me to make a new account when I just want to login, and then it’s not letting me into the account as it gives me the error message that “an account is already associated with this number”. My issue is that this company doesn’t have a phone number to call, or a real customer representative to speak to. You have to chat with a robot who sends you an email saying someone should write me back. For a company that sells a tracking device for safety, you should have a live customer service rep available to speak to. I bought this for my son to wear on an upcoming trip who has a disability, and this is a time sensitive case. I was hoping to start having him wear it today as he went to school. I hope to be contacted today to have this issue rectified. If this is rectified today, I will change my review. But I am feeling unsettled that I can’t begin using this device. ### 2/5 — “Break contract” charge *2024-05-11, version 1.24.0* My cat lost the bit and I cancelled subscription - was charged $21.85 for “breaking contract”. Nice. ### 2/5 — New model not good *2024-05-03, version 1.23.0* We had the previous model and we were forced to buy the new one. The new one has poor battery life, and is just buggy. Doesn’t load locations, just loads and loads and really doesn’t add much value. ### 2/5 — Was once great *2024-05-02, version 1.23.0* Don’t waste money on this device. It used to be much more accurate and you would be able to use the ring function at any distance. Now the ring can only be used when attached to blue tooth which in my opinion renders the jiobit useless. Jiobit used to be so reliable and help put my mind at ease as a parent with non verbal disabled children now I see no point when it’s so inaccurate and the ring function is unusable. I don’t want to know that my daughter has left a safe space 5+ minutes after the fact, I want to know the second it happens, which is the purpose behind the device in the first place. The delay between time of arrival/departure and the issuing of a notification to alert me is far too great, in my opinion. ### 2/5 — Loses connection easily on bus *2024-04-02, version 1.22.0* … ### 2/5 — App is disgraceful *2024-03-27, version 1.22.0* I’m paying over $200/year in subscription fees after paying over $100 per device, and their app won’t let me add any trusted members to our “care team” or do anything as simple as update my contact information. This is very basic stuff that any moderately competently company should be able to address. They haven’t updated their app in months. I won’t be renewing because I can’t trust such an incompetent company. It’s a shame because it otherwise would be a great product. Battery life is great. Tracking is adequate. Piece of mind… well, we had piece of mind. I no longer trust the device or the app if the company is this incompetent and unresponsive. ### 2/5 — New update is not cool… *2023-09-15, version 1.19.0* With the recent big update there is now no longer an option to snooze the separation alarm without disconnecting completely from a guardian’s phone. Every time requires a month of back and forth emails with customer service. It’s is terrible, annoying, and a waste of time. Never worked at all. Wasted a couple hundred dollars. Don’t even consider buying this product. I would have given it zero stars if that were an option. Examples: My father would leave the “safe zone” with me and sometimes I would get an alert 30 minutes later. Some times, I would be with him several mikes from home with the tracker on and charged and the app would say he was home. This is simply an example of failed technology that they are milking customers with for a few months. My guess is it will eventually fade out of existence after screwing over lots of people. DO NOT BUY! ### 3/5 — Was great *2023-07-19, version 1.16.0* Got this 18 months ago for my two dogs. I wanted to be able to know when they escaped the fence and exactly where they are It worked great until recently. Now it is constantly jumping on and off Wi-Fi so I’m get sometimes 10 notifications an hour telling me they’ve left and then they’ve returned. Can’t keep this up. Jiobit is now part of Tile so don’t know if that’s how it is but can say that I don’t have a way to get help from them. I’ve sent help inquiries with no response except to ask me to rate the requested help which I’ve responded asking for them to response. I think I’m going to stop and start with AirTags until I do enough research on a similar system. ### 1/5 — Junk *2023-07-06, version 1.15.0* App is junk, plus device does not hold charge. They charge a monthly fee plus a cancelation fee. Not happy with this product. The device cost a lot too. Charged me two months worth of membership for “breaking the contract”… seems like a money business, not a customer business. One time my 3 year old wandered out of sight and it took the app 3 minutes to refresh….. that is a very long time to be worrying about a child when you are paying a monthly subscription to a product that supposedly alleviates those types of headaches. I plan on canceling my subscription and finding a better solution. If your app or device stops working, they just keep promising to fix it through emails while they provide no time frame and refuse to refund your subscription. ### 1/5 — Last Update Field is USELESS *2025-08-28, version 1.27.0* The app always open with the Last Update field set to 15+ min ago. Now the app is outdated and the tracker just don’t work as good as it was before. And we don’t have customer support. No phone support/contact 2. Ridiculous early termination fee 3. Not worth the high monthly price 4. No prorate to cancellation. They charge you for the full month while taking away the remaining service they’ve already billed you for. 5. If you initially log in to your app via Google, Apple, etc., you can’t access the Jiobit web-based portal to manage your account (says “Looks like you don’t have an account with us”) and no other log in options are given, not even an option to sign up. If there’s a solution you wouldn’t know because there is no one to call. Good luck scrolling through “helpful articles” to find anything. It’s another subscription money trap. Save your time, money, and energy by choosing another option. ### 1/5 — Won’t allow new locations *2024-06-24, version 1.24.0* After a year of using this application, it will no longer allow me to add a new trusted places. Also there is no phone support and when you place a ticket via email they tell you that it could be up to 48. That response time is absolutely unacceptable especially when the product is relied upon for tracking children. I tried to reset my password but don't receive an email. When it appears to log me in, I can see my child's info for 2 seconds and then it automatically takes me to a "set up a new device" screen. It's in some sort of loop. I called customer service and it's an automated service telling me to access the chat with the app....that I can't get into! WTH! And I could t find a portal version to login as it is just trying to sell me more products. This is insane and what if it were an emergency? ### 1/5 — Jiobit *2023-12-27, version 1.22.0* DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They bill you every month regardless. You can’t cancel, you can’t stop the service. There is no phone number to call, you can't talk to anyone! They only have a chat, which is not live! They send an automated reply via email saying they have my "issue" but that's it. They NEVER get back to you. I’ve canceled my Jiobit account at least six months ago and they’re still billing me every month!! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — AWESOME for a cat! *2022-10-05, version 1.6.0* This device has helped me find our cat 4 times in less than a year! I could tell which neighbor's backyard he was in, or which street he wandered into by looking at the map in the app. I can also look at his history and see where he has gone when he was wandering. Plus, when it shows he is home and I cant find him, I just ring his jiobit from my phone and the jiobit alarm goes off. At this point the cat has gotten used to just coming to find me so that I can stop his device from ringing. I'm thinkin about getting another for my dog in case he gets out. Highly recommend for kids too. you can place them in a backpack for ensuring uour kids safety. ### 5/5 — Great tracking device *2022-09-06, version 1.4.7* Tried a few different competitors and nothing gave us a feeling of safety for my 91 year old Mom. Decided to give Jiobit a try and have had nothing but great consistent service. Updating her location is quick. Setting zones was a breeze. The charge last many days and customer support at the initial setup was quick and painless. My VPN was part of the problem! So if you’re having issues setting yours up, try turning off your VPN, if you have one. So far, I’m really enjoying the product and app! I’m able to download the app but when I try to set up a new Jiobit, I keep getting stuck on selecting a photo and can’t move forward. ### 5/5 — Peace of mind makes it worth the price *2022-02-17, version 1.3.4* My kids are too young for phones, so having the Jiobit on their persons is a very reassuring precaution to have. I get alerts whenever they leave home, school, etc. The kids don’t mind wearing them at all and know how to conceal them. It should go on the collar longways, not crossways. I wish the device stored every reading and dumped them when in range of wifi or bluetooth, I would like to see more detailed paths. Longer battery life at the expense of a larger but more ergonomic package would be great. But it is an amazing device. I have discovered that my cat wanders MUCH further from home than I thought. ### 5/5 — Peace of mind. We love our Jiobits! *2022-01-28* We bought two Jiobit units - one for each of our two outdoor cats - about 6 months ago. This technology has brought us peace of mind and confidence to let our cats freely roam the area around our house. We can see if they cross a street (so that we can go fetch them), or if they are safely roaming in neighboring yards. The Jiobits have helped us find our cats in the evenings on many occasions when they decide to hide and need some encouragement to come back inside. Battery life been excellent, and the app is easy-to-use. We have 3 family members with access to the tracking feature, and it works great. Great equipment, great service. Well worth the price for the peace of mind it gives us, and the freedom it gives our kitties. Works great for even smaller cats. I found the setup to be easy and intuitive and the app works seamlessly. The actual tracking works well so far and I am able to keep track of my pets when they’re outside.
