I took the JLPT N5 and I was trying the N5 level grammar and vocabulary. There was kanji on there that wouldn't even be on the N5 test. And the questions I miss, it just tells you the right answer and moves directly to the next one. It would help if it gave you time to review why you got it wrong. Some of the words I don't know, so I can't find out the meaning of it doesn't let me go back and review. ### 3/5 — Seems quite useful but crashes after like 20 test questions *2016-09-23, version 3.0* Tried it, seems the crashing bug is not rectified. N3 kanji test crashes at the same question after 演歌 word. Tried it twice , same problem. My only complaint is that for the JLPT N5 study, there are kanji on the practice test that an N5 student wouldn't even know(For example "最近/recently" was in the N5 vocab test on this app. "最" = N3 kanji and "近" = N4). It would be nice if there were furigana above higher grade kanji. Or Atleast an option to put in on or take off. Of course you can always just pick up a kanji dictionary to find out what your quiz question is asking, but that kinda ruins the point of there even being a time frame on the quiz.... ### 3/5 — Good but crashes sometimes *2013-11-29, version 3.0* It's a good app that helps me to revise for my exam, but it crashes sometimes when I'm going through the N3 kanji test. For example, go to settings and a 5 second advent appears. Go back and another 5 second advert appears. I am over 65 and even with glasses I just cannot make out the kanji they are just too small on my iphone5 screen. What a shame! And no setup to adjust font size. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — そもそもアプリの日本語がおかしい *2014-12-10, version 3.0* 反対をはいたいと書いたり、選択肢に答えが複数あったりする ### 1/5 — 間違えた時どうするの⁉︎ *2014-10-08, version 3.0* 不正解と判定された問題について、じっくり検討したいと思っても”戻り機能”がついていないからどうしようもない‼︎ 日本語を勉強をしている外国人の友人が”このアプリの信頼度はどんなものか確かめてくれ”と言ってきた。 【N2レベルの文法問題】 ”手術に( )多少の痛みはがまんしてください。” という問題に関して”伴う”は不正解と判断されたが、麻酔をかけない応急の手術だって行われる国から来た人には、なぜ間違いなのかわからない。 しかも、一瞬で消えてしまうために正解がなんだったのかよく確かめる時間もない。これでは反復ドリルとして機能しているとは言えない。 その他にも、”会った”という選択肢が重複していたり、”ストレス解消するには運動する(に)限ります。”や ”あの味は忘れ(がたい)”などの表現は 不正解 となっていて、私の日本語がおかしいのかもうわけがわからなくなってしまった。 校正を厳しくして、戻りや一時停止ボタンがつけば とても活用できるアプリになると思う。 ### 1/5 — 惜しい！ *2013-01-12, version 1.0* とても惜しいです！凄くいいappになりそうですが、このままでは復習できないので、勉強にならない。間違った問題が復習できるように直して欲しいです。 ### 1/5 — Is this app a joke? *2012-12-28, version 1.0* It won't even load! Crashes right after touching the icon. :-( ### 1/5 — Seemed like a good idea but ... *2012-11-25, version 1.0* Well, this apparently has 100-question quizzes for each level in each of kanji, vocab, and grammar. Each question is timed, so if you run out it advances to the next question automatically. Kanji? You got 30 sec. Vocab? 30 sec. Grammar? Yeah, 30 sec. So exactly how you're supposed to prepare for the test if you don't have enough time to answer, especially since you have more than 30 sec. for each question on the test, I don't know. Also, some of the kanji is so small and detailed that I couldn't even read it. And there was plenty of white space around it so it could have been larger. No options, and upon opening it flashes through the splash screen in a split second so I couldn't read that either. If you close a quiz without finishing all 100 questions and open it again, it starts all over again at 1 of 100. Never mind that to finish a quiz of 100 would take 50 minutes ... I mean really, who has 50 min. at one sitting? And whether you get it right or wrong, the end of the button just turns red or green just before it automatically advances to the next question. No time to learn from your mistakes. So any time you spend wondering what you got wrong is now eating into your 30 sec. for the next question. Sure it's free, but sometimes things are free for a reason. Don't waste your time with this one; there are a lot better apps out there. ### 2/5 — There are errors! *2016-12-08* This is a useful app at first BUT when there are errors it makes it impossible to learn from one's own mistakes. It's not useful to learn incorrect grammar! I would have given this 4 stars for being useful (5 stars if it were pretty and had reviews of my answers) but had to take it back to 2 stars because it really is NOT useful to be trying to learn from something that hasn't been proofread. A review of quiz answers would really be beneficial. Both for the learner and for the app developer, who needs to check all the questions and answers! ### 2/5 — App closes suddenly. *2015-07-17* It might be a good app if it could stay open. ### 2/5 — Why no quiz review? *2013-05-21* It'll be most helpful with my study if there is review for each question I answered. Because right now, if I answered a quiz wrongly, I don't know which answer is correct, not even a glimpse of it. Plus, the timer image is cut off at the top part, I'm using iPhone6 btw. Please make it happen, developer-san. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Really good *2017-08-27, version 6.0* Really good to have an app like this as it seems difficult to find many places to find mock exams for the JLPT. Improvements to suggest would be for it to tell you analysis for how you did; so it would say if it thought you were ready for the exam or not or if you passed etc. Also the sections in JLPT exam are vocab and grammar as one and listening as another whereas this hive separate marks for vocab grammar and kanji. Would be good to reflect the exam as closely as possible.
