I don't do brand loyalty. I hate brands. I hate corporations. I hate CEOs. The only brand I've ever been sincerely loyal to is Joann. No other craft store can pony up to everything Joann could offer. And now it's gone. My heart has a Joann-shaped hole. Where do I go to buy my bobbins? My Gutermann thread? My snips? My specialty needle threader shaped like a hummingbird? My fabric? My FABRIC??? I feel a deep sense of sadness, shame and anger whenever I go to a craft store that isn't Joann's. Maybe they have physically larger stores. Maybe they have longer aisles full of wood-burning materials and paint-by-numbers kits. Maybe they have self-checkout lanes and crazy discounts. But they don't have anything I NEED. They don't have soul, either. They have the world's smallest fabric section and several overpriced sewing machines, and that's it. I curse the bloodlines of everyone that allowed this to happen. I'd do ritualistic sacrifice to bring Joann back. Please.
