The iPad and mini iPad (and quite possibly the iPhone) version randomly crashes on reEntry into the game both on the expanded to all four episode App and the complete App. I bought both. The episode App seems a little less stable and crashes more often and sooner than the complete Apps but sooner or later they both crash on re entering the game. If Forge Reply would get rid of the Book on the Pedestal entry section and let the gamers enter straight into the saved program section the program would probably work or maybe not. What do I know. If you don't what I mean... just buy it. You'll find out soon enough. It was wort the 11 dollars though even with the crashes and loss of time and having to re download the entire 2.5 gigabytes and having start all over from the beginning. Too bad the save file of your character is lost with the program. But if you have 15-16 hours to binge play without shutting off your iPad and are not worried about how hot your iPad gets while you play (seems to drain the battery exceptionally fast) then this game is for you. I love that it is a multi lingual game and that you have to read alot. I loved the books and plying them. Too bad they can't use the fighting system and create more monsters and convert all the original books into a multi lingual Lone Wolf series. RIP - Joe Dever... you will always be my solo fantasy book hero. PS. Don't count on any prompt responses for your complaints to Forge Reply either. I wrote them directly on their website 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for an answer back. ### 1/5 — What the hell *2018-11-21, version 1.0.1* I bought this app and now I have to buy it again?!? ### 2/5 — Crashing issue *2018-11-20, version 1.0.1* I was able to play the game and enjoy it for a good day, couple hours already sunk into it, but that's all I got, just a couple hours, ever time I try to restart the game it ends up crashing on me every time the book opens and my screen goes white. Honestly, I expected more from someone who adopted such an amazing game, but to leave it relatively unplayable for a whole year? That's unacceptable. I hope the crashing issues can be resolved but until then, I'm sure alot of those who purchased this version are wanting their money back. I know I would like that, if the other "Free" version works better at least with the refund I can use it to purchase the chapters and get the experience I intended to get in the first place. ### 3/5 — Partial Recommendation *2018-05-02, version 1.0.1* I find this game to be really interesting and I have never played past the first act when BulkyPix had ownership, so when I found it again recently with all acts bundled together I jumped straight on board. However, I don’t think I can recommend it in its current state given the fact that after I defeat a boss about midway through Act 2, I will take-a-break and come back later only for the game to refuse to start. This has happened twice now, and I’ve had no choice but to reinstall, thus losing all of my progress. I am unsure if wether or not anyone else has had this problem, but because of this issue, I cannot give this 5-stars until it is fixed. ### 2/5 — Misleading *2017-06-09, version 1.0.1* Not what you expect. And based on other reviews the new developer/owner has no intentions of fixing the problem. It was too much button mashing (hey, I loved Diablo 2 as much as anyone in its day). They’ve more or less created a “story mode” where you still can fight arcade-style, but really you can focus on the awesome story and listen to the author narrate the tale. ### 5/5 — Love it! *2022-06-19, version 1.0.2* BIG fan of the game books and this game itself. The metal clasp and leather strap overlays inspire me in my own designs. I enjoy exploring through the codex and reading the history of characters and places. The accompanying artwork is wonderful and the animations are polished. This game is a mix of 2D relaxed reading (with choices) and 3D intense fighting. The fighting is simple in the sense there are only a few moves to do but I find the timing and mechanics to be awkward. Even on easy I somehow miss the swipes and taps. It’s frustrating to redo fights and I wish the easy ‘tell me a story’ mode could skip right through the stressful combat. If the combat were not timed that would at least help (if you wait too long looking at the moves you can do the monsters attack). Overall, the app is presented well and enjoyable to journey through. ### 5/5 — Awe inspiring journey *2020-03-01, version 1.0.1* This simple yet extraordinarily deep game brings the player through a realistic and fantastical journey. The writing is well done and draws you in. The gameplay is fun and you find yourself craving more. And the music brings you into the world. Truly an epic game worth more than the purchase of the whole thing. Anyone who likes role playing, problem solving, and world building will find themselves having a great time with Joe Dever’s Lone wolf.
