### 5/5 — Fantastic resource for all levels!

*2013-01-07, version 1.0*

This is a fantastic resource! It's so versatile.
I successfully used the app to brush up on perakim I had learned in the past as well as to learn a new chapter for this year. It was so easy to follow along with the reader, pause the recording and go back to tricky words.
There are also so many other wonderful resources for gabbaiot, people organizing Megillah readings and halakhic support.
I also can't wait to use the app to follow along during services on Purim--I just need to remember to keep the sound off...

Kol ha'kavod JOFA and thanks for creating such a wonderful and user-friendly product!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2014-03-12, version 1.0*

I agree that you can't use this app to learn Megillah because the singer doesn't stay in key. It's impossible to distinguish a clear melodic pattern in the trop because of the way it is chanted, so you can't sing along or repeat after the recording. Very frustrating & disappointing. If the developers were able update the app with different recordings from a more skilled singer, my review would go from 1 star to 5 because the other elements are great.

### 1/5 — Not as good as I hoped

*2013-02-23, version 1.0*

While this app has all the technical bells and whistles I would like, the singer is difficult to learn from. This is because she is singing off key. Very hard to learn a melody from someone with pitch problems.

### 1/5 — No Sound!

*2013-01-17, version 1.0*

I was looking forward to using this app but the sound doesn't work!
What a waste of time and money. Same as it is such a useful resource.

### 2/5 — No sound

*2014-02-25*

Could be great but the sound doesn't work

### 4/5 — Very nice app

*2015-02-15, version 1.0.1*

Nice app. Good structure and very useful in learning the taamim and the megilla. While I appreciate that the person who recorded it is in the alto-range, I would have liked to hear a more pleasant recording. Nothing operatic, just more precise pitches and intervals. The musicality felt a little sloppy. Other than that, Yashar Koach to JOFA and all involved.

### 4/5 — Very useful app

*2013-02-04, version 1.0*

The JOFA Megillat Esther app is really easy to use and has helped me enormously to learn my chapter. The inclusion of the Tikkun version is excellent.

My only criticism is the tone of the woman's voice on the app. Although she is clear, a more tuneful voice would have been slightly more pleasant on the ear.

I would highly recommend this app to anyone thinking of learning to lein the Megillah

### 5/5 — Best I have found

*2022-02-19, version 2.0.1*

Very well organised app. Extremely easy to use. Totally clear pronunciation with normal Israeli pronunciation in a perfectly normal performing voice. The speed and display controls are first-rate. Each word is highlighted as it is is read.
Clear unfussy design due to welcome absence of unnecessary features.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2019-03-11, version 2.0.1*

I’ve been reading Megilat Ester for close to 20 years, and this is the best tool to prepare for my reading. The pronunciation is precise and the tikkun mode is really useful whenever I have a moment to review. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Best way to learn Megillat Esther

*2019-03-10, version 2.0.1*

I tried learning from some YouTube videos but the were too fast, too slow, not in my range, etc. This app with the inbuilt tikkun and the ability to hear any section of the text is awesome! The pace is medium and the voice is mid-alto range. The trope is clear and without embellishment which I think is correct for teaching. (FYI - The link to JOFA leadership no longer works. Might want to replace with a basic link to JOFA so that you don’t need to change the app whenever the website changes.)

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2017-02-15, version 1.0.1*

Great app for learning Megillat Esther. The audio is clear and at at a good pace for learners, and the option to display the translation is very helpful.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A yearly must

*2016-02-09, version 1.0.1*

This is my third Purim prepping Perek 4 with JOFA's app and by now we are old friends. Grateful for this tech!

### 5/5 — Beautiful App

*2015-07-24, version 1.0.1*

This app was extremely helpful in my learning and understanding of Megillat Esther! The leiner did a beautiful job!

### 5/5 — Everything I was looking for

*2014-03-05, version 1.0*

This app gave me all the tools I needed to learn the trope and begin leyning Megillah for the first time. It's so simple to use!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2014-02-04, version 1.0*

Highly recommend it. Very easy to use with tikkun, translation, and singing.

### 5/5 — Best Trope Resource of All Time

*2014-02-03, version 1.0*

I used this app when I was brushing up on my Megillah reading last year and found it to be one of the most well executed apps I think I have ever used. The program looks beautiful, it includes a translation, The text is wonderfully curated, and allows you to easily turn the tikkun on and off for practice just like from a real book. Additionally, the audio recording is beautiful and the word being recited is highlighted, allowing someone who has never read megillah before to easily map the music onto the text. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

### 5/5 — Great tool!

*2013-02-03, version 1.0*

This App empowers students to learn and practice both the correct pronunciation and cantillation for Megillah.
The feature that allows you to play the sound of each word at the time allows you to self-correct without the frustration of being interrupted and corrected by someone else!
Thank you JOFA!!
