### 4/5 — Jog log - heart monitor

*2016-05-25, version 3.0.4*

When connecting to heart monitor... App shuts down

### 4/5 — used to love, now just like

*2016-02-03, version 3.0.4*

I have been using this app since pretty much day one. I have two complaints about the current app: 1st complaint is that i can no longer "share" my workout to social media, all that is posted is an advertisement for Serenity Integration. I emailed the company and they confirmed that something is "broken". Not sure how hard it is to fix but, well, it hasn't been. Second complaint has to do with music and integrating particular songs into my workout. For me, it used to work just fine, but when I subscribed to iTunes' music match, the app stopped playing my assigned songs even when stored on the phone vs. the cloud. Now I have to start my music, pause it, start the app and unpause music...

### 4/5 — The best I've found.

*2013-06-17, version 2.6.5*

As stated before, has a couch to 5k with both time and distance options and other workout purchase optima up to marathon distance. I like the fact walking and cycling are separate from running when tracking via GPS. The post route map is a great feature and the option to save it for reference later is appreciated. This fitness app isn't lacking any major features that I can identify and the interface is easy enough to pick up. Keep up the good work and thank you.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2013-03-06, version 2.6.2*

Have been using this app for over 2 years now. Best running app on the market I think.

One suggestion, an improvement needs to be made to the pause lock feature for workouts. Regardless of its deactivated, when an interval workout is going on and the audio cue tell you to jog/run/walk the music pauses and forces you to hit play again. Thus happens when playing a playlist from your music on your iPhone. Can get really annoying when your running for an hour and having to hit play every two minutes.

### 4/5 — Great App...but could be even better

*2013-02-07, version 2.5.1*

I've been using this app for about four weeks and love it. I've tried Garmin, Strava, and some other free apps but none have the voice cues which I attribute partly to helping me break 8 mile/min for 5 to 6 mile runs as my New Years resolution. Now I am going to set a new goal...The setup is easy and custom interval training is great to help with increasing distance runs or pace. I wanted to give this app a 4 1/2 rating but it wont allow me. The reason for half star deduction is that this app could be even better by adding voice cues within the last mile, for example: 200 yards to go, 100 yards to go, etc...so that I can know when to go for that sprint finish. I dont like looking at my phone when running and rely only on the voice cues. Second, I cant find a total elevation gain function for when I complete my runs. I would like to know what I am climbing on some of the hilly runs I do.

### 4/5 — Running/Cycling Log and Tracking App

*2013-01-21, version 2.5.1*

Works well, I feel it accurately tracks my pace and location, which is important. The only thing that seems to be off, is the noise alert after I hit my target distance, but it does vibrate when sound is off. For the most part I'm happy with the app an it does what I need it to, it has some extra features that are handy as well, like training for 10K or half/full marathons. So I would recommend to others. There seems to be several apps out there for running, this one is valid and reliable.

### 5/5 — If only I'd had this when younger

*2012-09-01, version 2.5*

I continue to revise and republish positive reviews of this app because I find it to be simply excellent. I have found it to be accurate, intuitive, and unusually well designed with real runners in mind, including those who train using walk / run cycles.

An update once temporarily left a small problem: but their customer service was prompt and effective, and the app quickly returned to its impressive norm.

The few negative reviews of this app leave me puzzled. I have absolutely no complaints.

No, I do not work for the company or know anybody who does. I'm just an old math geek who appreciates smart design. I hope the makers make a fortune: they are green shoots of hope in a bad economy.

### 4/5 — Latest update problems, but fundamentally great

*2012-08-10, version 2.4.2*

Awesome app. Solid tracking, great mid-run notification options, and good stats review options.

Two problems:
1- the latest update messed up the notification volume options. Now, no matter the settings, in-app notifications are at full volume. This is frustrating and should be fixed.
2- tracking can be inaccurate at times. It appears to be caused by leaving wifi on in rural areas. Run in urban areas = no problem. Run with wifi off (ignoring the warning of reduced accuracy) = no problem.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2012-07-16, version 2.4.2*

This is the third running app I have tried and by far this is the best. Their are so many options that everyone who uses it should be able to monitor what is important to them. I am getting ready for a 5K obstacle race in September and I feel confident that I will be ready. Ray in Customer support is great he responded to my questions promptly and offered other suggestions. Kudos to you Ray and I will definitely recommend this app to my friends.

### 5/5 — Amazing Customer Service

*2012-05-11, version 2.4.1*

After update had distance bug, I was MAD! Sent a message to CEO/Service and had answer in about 10 minutes! Wow. They worked to get program fixed and sent me A PERSONAL EMAIL that the app was ready to reinstall. Tell me any other company/people that offer that kind of service today. I did lose some info but SO appreciate the immediate fix.

### 5/5 — Great run app!

*2012-04-28, version 2.3.7*

This app is very easy to use and navigate. I use the run and log portions of the app most frequently and love how my runs are broken down by average speed, pace, etc. The log is awesome as it provides a map of where I ran and breaks down my pace for each mile ran. I'm really pleased that I purchased this app and recommend it for anyone wanting to log their runs!

### 5/5 — One of the best apps!

*2012-04-20, version 2.3.7*

My husband & I have been using this app to get back to running (me) & start running (him). I love how it keeps us on track so I don't over do it & keeps him motivated. We can run together & the log tells us what to do next instead of one of us trying to keep track or put together a plan. Lots of options, which is good, but sometimes aren't explained very well. Otherwise, I have been telling all my friends about this awesome app! Thanks jog log for getting us going again!

### 5/5 — Never Without It!

*2012-03-18, version 2.3.7*

I love Jog Log - I use it practically everyday. I have a Fitbit as well, but Jog Log is way more accurate in terms of distance, elevation, and thus calorie burn. I also enjoy the ability to create custom workouts (as well as use the couch to 5k trainer) and have Jog Log tell me what to do when, so I can concentrate more on what I'm doing and less on checking a stopwatch.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2017-06-21, version 3.0.4*

Tracking is pathetic. I don't think I'm going at a 10,000 pace when I'm walking. 😝 Isn't registering at all in two pretty open and busy places I run where it should have NO problem. I've used jog log on and off the past several years and it just seems to get worse. Dumping this and going back to my Garmin.

### 1/5 — The GPS tracking is atrocious

*2016-04-07, version 3.0.4*

After mapped-out 5k runs, JogLog repeatedly claimed I've only run 3k. Their GPS logs of the run look like two-year-old scrawlings -- a mess of nonsense diagonal lines, showing me running through multiple blocks at impossible angles, with no correlation to my actual route. I thought it was my phone, but tried Runkeeper and -- although I was less a fan of their training plans -- their GPS mapping actually works. Until this JogLog bug is fixed, minimum rating from me.

### 2/5 — Not that impressed

*2016-12-12, version 3.0.4*

Was difficult to set intervals and be sure they will work as intended. There is no place online to find instructions. Gps did not track distance properly, it took a shortcut. Spent an evening trying to get the timer to work and discovered after about an hour, I had to restart the phone to make it work. Most of my problems would have been solved if there were some documentation out there. If there were resources, it could be a pretty powerful tool, but without them it took an evening of my life and made a frustrating run. Probably will not use again.

### 2/5 — So FRUSTRATED!!!

*2010-10-29, version 0*

I LOVED this app when I first got it. I haven't had problems with the GPS at all. I've used this about a month now. That being said, for some reason this app turns off on me whenever I get a push notification or calendar reminder. I start my run, the app is working fine. If something comes in while i'm working out, the app just turns off without recording my run. It's just GONE. Can you imagine how frustrating it is to get done with 3 miles and look down and the app didn't record a thing? I have searched thru settings to see if I can fix it, but there's nothing. When it works it works great, but I'm tired of the frustration of losing my logs.

### 2/5 — GPS Lacks Consistency

*2010-10-21, version 0*

After using now for about 10, the GPS just does not work well. I can use other popular run tracking apps with zero issues with GPS. I can never get above a weak signal despite trying eveything on their site. All other GPS programs I own & use on a regular basis get a signal right away & are accurate. With Jog Log I will be out for a run, it will tell me a mile, 10 seconds later I am on my second, 5 seconds later I am on my 3rd.
While I really enjoy this app, it's just not useable in it's current state. Even after the latest update I still cannot log into DailMile.

### 3/5 — Please!!

*2018-12-11, version 3.0.4*

I’m having issues with the gps. It shows me running through trees, over creeks (yes, this could happen, but not in my land!). I have LTE here, so this shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve tried with WiFi on and WiFi off. Doesn’t matter. Please fix!

### 3/5 — Great App, But Needs updating & Bug Fixes

*2018-08-06, version 3.0.4*

I love this app & have used it for years. Recently, though it is not working accurately. The tracking stats such as the “Total distance” & the pace are completely inaccurate. An example of this is I jogged & walked a 2.5 track and the jog log showed that it was 5.61 miles. The speed is not correct either. This app has not performed an update in quite some time. Hopefully they can fix this issue. Because it was way better than all the other jogging apps.

### 3/5 — A little disappointed.

*2012-10-22, version 2.5.1*

I once loved JogLog. Then I noticed that the calorie count was irrationally high (1280 calories for 45 minutes of walking). I wanted to get a more accurate view of the benefits of my exercise. I grudgingly went ahead and bought the Wahoo key for heart rate monitoring, thinking that this would solve the inaccuracy problem, but the last several times I've used JogLog it began giving me negative values! I like the way it uses an altimeter to help calculate, but the GPS makes the altitude jump around by 5, 10, even 20 meters as I stand still (I've yet to find how to turn it off). I've been using another app now and, unless an update or support arrives to fix this snafu, I probably won't using JogLog anymore. That, and I wished it would sync with FitBit or LoseIt!. Used to love it, though.

### 3/5 — Works great then screws up

*2011-12-03, version 2.3.1*

I have used this app many times. It works great half the time, gives an accurate time, distance and gps tracking of where you have gone. Then the other half it just screws up. On the main screen instead of saying time and distance it just says time and time. I have had to reinstall this app soo many times and every time I reinstall I lose all my data of my past runs. Sometimes when I turn on joglog it affects my music and almost mutes the volume. So right now it says time and time on the main screen but when I finish my run it will give a total distance that I have gone. Just annoying that it won't show up during the run. Overall it's a decent app and I will continue to use it. I haven't tried any others cause I'm not totally fed up with this app as of yet.

### 4/5 — A little dated, but still my favorite

*2019-09-02, version 3.0.4*

I hold on to Jog Log because it gives me the features I really want - non-subscription, fully customizable runs, completely tweak-able audio cues.

I used to care about the social posting, not so much. The UI has always been a little hard to work with and it’s only gotten more crashy during editing of workouts as it hasn’t been kept up with the iOS updates. But with a refresh and update, I would totally buy it again.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app for running.

*2019-12-28, version 3.0.4*

I have been used this application for years and loved it. It’s flexibility and customizability are thoughtful for runners. Much more so than it’s higher profile competitors. The screen is well-designed and all fields are easy to see while running. The only issue I have is it seems not to be compatible with many HR monitor and requires Wahoo? Still, love this app.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2016-04-12, version 3.0.4*

Works very well! Very flexible programming of intervals, you mix distance and time... And it works!!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2016-03-02, version 3.0.4*

Love this app. I used it to keep track of my runs when I was training for a half marathon. I use it now to track my runs and it motivates me to get my regular runs in.

### 5/5 — Very helpful and fun running app

*2016-02-28, version 3.0.4*

I have been trying to get back into jogging for the past 3 months, and I like how this app shows and tracks distance and speed -- it's fun when the log starts to accumulate and you can analyze things like overall pace, time and mileage. I like the voice cues on pace and distance. I like the mapping feature. It did take me a little effort to understand how to work the app correctly - it was a matter of spending a little time with the "buttons" to understand how to start, stop, pause, and set the exercise to "running" -- overall, a really fun app, I have found it very encouraging and helpful.

### 5/5 — Job Log

*2015-11-19, version 3.0.4*

This is an awesome app!! Use it everyday... Highly recommend it:)

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2015-11-12, version 3.0.4*

I use the run-walk-run method and this app is perfect for this.

### 5/5 — Sweet app

*2015-11-03, version 3.0.4*

Super customizable, and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2013-05-23, version 2.6.5*

I've used this app to train for two 5K races and have had only good experiences with it. It is highly customizable and also comes with a built-in Couch to 5K program which makes training for your first 5K simple. I love the logs feature which tracks your distance, speed, trail, and many other details. I also like that the prompts can be customized to announce your distance at intervals, pace, etc. Great app, and not a bad price either.

### 5/5 — Excellent support

*2013-05-20, version 2.6.5*

I had earlier written a negative review because Jog Log was not working properly. I was contacted by the developer who really wanted to help me find out what was wrong. Eventually, I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems to be working correctly. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars because of the exceptional service by the developer who followed up with me numerous times. He believes strongly in top customer service!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-09-21, version 2.5.1*

*** review is pre iOS6. App has gone wonky with the iOS. ****

Use it for cycling, running, and walking. Accurate and a great way to track workouts. I don't use the workouts features nor do I workout with music.

Would like to be able to change activity type from main screen without having to go to settings. Multisport workouts require changing.
