## What is John 1?

Every verse is a doorway.

John 1:1 is a Bible reader built around the one thing other apps leave on the shelf: the connections. Beneath the text of Scripture lies a vast web — cross-references, shared people and places, echoes and prophecies — linking every verse to the rest of the Word. John 1:1 turns that web into the way you read.

Open a verse and swipe sideways into a connection. Read down it, and it becomes your new center, its own connections branching out around it. Follow the thread from a promise in Isaiah to its fulfillment in the Gospels, from a name in Genesis to a genealogy in Matthew — verse to verse, across the whole of Scripture. It is the Bible the way it was always cross-woven, made to be explored.

Better connections. The links between verses have been re-ranked so the first one you see is the one worth seeing.

A connection is now weighted by how much it actually evidences a link — a cross-reference compiled by scholars counts for more than a shared topic word — and a connection you can see in the text itself is preferred to one you can't. John 1:1 now opens on “His name is The Word of God,” Genesis 1:2 on “I looked at the earth, and it was formless and void,” and Genesis 22:8 on “Look, the Lamb of God.”

### 1.6 — 2026-08-15

Search now reaches the whole of Scripture. Look for “love” and you'll see all 661 verses — and you can read them as a thread: tap Read all, then swipe up from one verse about love to the next.

Also new: books you've started in Your reading take you back to where you stopped, a new reader begins at Genesis 1:1, and the intro now walks you through the real screen — your progress, translations and languages, and how to jump to any chapter and verse.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-14

Sharing, reimagined. Tap Share and see your cards before you post — your verse, a connection, your walked path — swipe between them, switch between Story, Post, and square formats, and send straight to Instagram Stories.

The Share button now carries the living glyph of your walk, and finishing a shared path shows you the card of the journey you just made.

Paths. The app now draws your walk through the Word — a faint trace of lines and doorways above the verse you're reading — and every path you've walked lives in Your reading, ready to share as a designed card with a link friends can follow stop by stop.

Also: share any connection from any verse, your daily verse now arrives in your chosen translation, and tapping the notification opens it.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-11

Now in French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese — Segond 1910, Reina-Valera 1909, Riveduta 1927, and Bíblia Portuguesa Mundial, all fully offline.

Also new: a hands-on intro that teaches the movements, an always-visible header with your passage and translation, and two new ways to share — a connection card (two verses, one doorway) and your path through the Word.
