### 5/5 — Priceless

*2014-01-12, version 1.01*

Beautiful. The tapes detail the intimate collaboration between John and Yoko as the songs developed from inception to finish. I really loved hearing my favorite songs acoustically and with none of the finishing touches. Some of the recordings on the tapes were much more appealing to me than the radio versions of the songs. A gift to Lennon & Yoko fans everywhere.

### 5/5 — Best app

### 5/5 — If You're a Fan...

*2013-11-23, version 1.0*

Like I am--a major John Lennon fan--then you will want this. As a big fan, I had heard about these tapes, & was looking forward to hearing them. I love that they are right on my phone, but I'll still buy the hard copies if they become available. And if they ARE available now & I'm just not aware, well, I know what I want for Christmas!! Great buy though, very well done. Best used with headphones. And when you hear John Lennon, his voice, his vitality, you might shed a few tears for the icon we all lost that December day in 1980.

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2013-11-22, version 1.0*

This is a great story about John Lennon's creative process for Double Fantasy told in a creative semi-interactive app. Loved it.

### 5/5 — This is beautiful

*2013-11-22*

Thank you

### 5/5 — Wow. Thank you, thank you, thank you

*2013-11-21, version 1.0*

What a warm personal little app. I love the casual un-produced versions of these songs. They just strip the eighties right out of there and shine right through. Beautiful.

### 5/5 — Love.

*2013-11-20*

It's John Lennon, people. Of course this app is amazing!

### 5/5 — A Beautiful and Creative App!

*2013-11-20, version 1.0*

WhyHunger has made a really wonderful app. It's much like an interactive documentary. The content, which includes a story with interactive art, songs, and interviews is complete and lush. I am left with the feeling that a lot went into this app. Their emotional connection to John Lennon and the understanding of that connection with fans is very obvious. I would recommend this app to every Lennon fan, but also anyone that has respect for and enjoys creativity.
Well done

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Accessability

*2022-10-08, version 1.02*

This is not accessible with voiceover. I am very sad because I have been a beetle fan for many many years I expected more.

### 1/5 — Rating 1 Star because the developer hasn’t updated it for iOS 11 yet

*2018-07-15*

Shoddy lack of app maintenance, I want a refund.

### 1/5 — Great App but is not compatible with ios11

*2018-06-02, version 1.01*

I absolutely love this app. It worked great when I was running iOS 10, but when I upgraded to 11, it no longer worked [wont even open]. Apparently the developers haven’t updated it.

### 1/5 — unable to download

*2013-11-23*

does not download to phone

### 2/5 — Lenin Tapes

*2017-10-02, version 1.01*

I’m getting problems to open it in IOS 11 because it is not compatible. It’s a beautiful software and I would not want to lose it. Please update as soon as possible. Thanks

### 2/5 — It's 2015!

*2015-03-17*

Developer has lost interest in continued support of app. What a shame; such a good app on Lennon and it's let down by its developer. Thumbs down for me.

### 3/5 — An overproduced treasure

*2013-12-30, version 1.01*

Definitely worth getting BUT ... Prepare to be annoyed by background music thSt makes John's voice even harder to hear than the old recording itself. I appeciate the production effort but I would rather hear it unadorned or just hear it. Thanks for the app though. I really treasure this collection.

### 4/5 — You gotta love him...

*2013-12-11, version 1.01*

...or else you'll think this app is boring. I do love the John and Yoko story so I was pleased with this short romp in a chapter of their lives. I wish it lasted longer, but that's true of his life on the whole. At first I was really annoyed by the poor audio quality but it's only bad on the first chapter, presumably because of the background noise of the sea, wind and boat. So keep going - it gets better.

### 4/5 — Bermuda Tapes

*2013-12-02*

A great insight into John,s song writing skills for this period in his life.

A must for John Lennon fans.

A great app with one slight problem. My version only works one way up. It doesn't respond to screen rotation.

### 5/5 — Heartwarming to hear John again on his 80th birthday

*2020-12-09, version 1.02*

Was told by a friend of this interactive app of John and Shaun’s journey to beautiful Bermuda. The tapes along with the visual interaction and music samples make this a wonderful app for the Beatle fan, but especially for fans of John. Happy 80th birthday John in Heaven!

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — What a great app!

*2019-10-11*

What a brilliant discovery to make!
The insights and demos are just great 👍

### 5/5 — Update for IOS 11?

*2017-11-11*

This is a terrific app but I can’t use it anymore unless it gets updated for the current IOS

### 5/5 — iOS 11 compatibility??

*2017-09-19, version 1.01*

Please add iOS 11 compatibility.

### 5/5 — A Beautifully Immersive Experience

*2016-11-20*

This app is essential for any serious Lennon fan. To set the scene, in June 1980 John Lennon sailed from New York to Bermuda navigating a storm which he later described as the most exhilarating experience of his lifetime. Once settled in Bermuda he wrote all the songs for his Double Fantasy album in a period of only 3 weeks. John credited the sailing for making him centred and thus allowing for creative inspiration to flow, the songs came easily and when he returned to New York City recording began on what would be his last studio album. This app beautifully illustrates John's Bermuda escape with music, audio interviews, photos, stunning illustrations, and animations. It's an immersive and interactive experience full of surprises and captures the essence of John and his inner creative journey at the time. Bermuda for John was a creative awakening of sorts after 5 years of seclusion and time away from songwriting. Another reviewer above said the app developer had lost interest in this app, however it is a finished creation, thoughtfully and thoroughly realised to completion with no further need for updates. I only just discovered this app in November 2016 and it is a delight. I love hearing the 'Bermuda Tapes' - the rough demos of songs that would later be recorded in NYC. It's fascinating to hear John's songwriting process and his interviews offer much insight. This app deserves more attention. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — ( Just Like ) Starting Over....and over.....and over again

*2014-12-19*

Hey what a great app, the last summer of John on tape and some good insight for his last album. There is demo tapesas well as some interactive play, and how the B52's play a part in this app. A great app for any Lennon fan, and worth every penny.

### 5/5 — John would have loved this!

*2014-09-19*

Wow! This app is beautifully designed with clever interactive ideas. It takes you to the heart of John's trip to Bermuda in summer of 1980, when he was inspired to right a number of songs that appeared on his last album, Double Fantasy. You can hear interviews whilst viewing photos, tour parts of the island and click on a cassette tape player to hear DF demos. If John was alive he would have dug this!!

### 5/5 — Before you go to sleep..

*2014-06-27*

Lennon fan? You must download this.

### 5/5 — A Great App - even greater treasure from John & Yoko

*2014-06-24, version 1.01*

Beautifully realized App provides a fantastic experience, and a story few knew regarding John's final musical outpouring in 1980

This is touching and timeless

Musical magic

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2014-02-01, version 1.01*

I love it!! Well worth the money. A must have for any Beatle fan!!
