Needed to speak to a vet because the dog ate something he shouldn’t. All good from that point of view. The main issue I have is the spam notifications with no way to turn them off. She called me back and checked everything although, of course, it was a little hard using video and having a squirming dog. I didn’t feel at all rushed and it was such a relief to be reassured. It would have cost me over £300 at the local emergency vet. My pet insurance company, Animal Friends, includes this service in our policy. It’s packed with features and perfect for when you need reassurance or have a problem out of hours. I’ve had video calls on weekends and late evenings that have given me practical advice and guidance in between vet visits, which have been a life saver since my cat developed a rare infection after surgery. I’d recommend this to anyone. I got this service through my insurer and I’d advise anyone looking for insurance to make sure their provider gives access to this app. I wouldn’t be without it now. Both times the vet has looked at my dog through the video chat and advised correct treatment. It is a great relief to be able to speak to a qualified vet 24/7 if there is an issue with my precious dog and it is a major reason for renewing with my insurance to keep getting the same support if issues occur. I will update the review if I can resolve this issue pretty quickly ### 1/5 — Poor experience *2024-08-19, version 3.4.2* App decided that my policy was no longer valid so wouldn’t let me access anything. Insurer confirmed policy was still valid but due to restricted access I missed my consultation with Vet for my cats follow up apt. As usual, no contact number apart from an email address so now having to wait 48hours to have someone investigate. Really unhelpful when you need to speak to a vet. Ended up going to my local vet as couldn’t wait for resolution. First time using it and won’t be rushing to do it again 😫 ### 1/5 — What’s the point? *2024-07-30, version 3.4.0* I used this app on a few occasions. Every single time the app says “go see the vet”. It’s pointless and instead of saving me time, it wastes my time. So after emailing Animal Friends & Joii over the last 6 days I've given up with even bothering. However, no pet details appear and I am continually prompted to add a pet before I can utilise any of the app’s functions. This happens repeatedly with no pet being added, thus rendering the app entirely useless. ### 1/5 — At best useless *2023-11-16, version 2.11.0* I have used the video call twice now and have been given incorrect information both times. As a new cat owner I did not know that my cat was on heat. I explained her behaviour and was told that she must have been injured and to go to the vet. Then she started losing fur. I was told it was probably worms and to go to the vet. It was not worms at all and the actual vet was so much more thorough in her investigation. On Joli I was asked very few questions and all they seem to say anyway is to go to the vet. Sorry, but I think this is a very poor service. ### 1/5 — Needs updating *2023-10-09, version 2.8.0* I am unable to type in certain characters such as ‘@‘ and ‘.’ My surname is also hyphenated and I am unable to enter ‘-‘. ### 2/5 — Used to be great, now doesn’t work *2023-06-12, version 2.2.1* The concept is great and for a time this app and business was a god send for me. However recently the app doesn’t seem to work - I queue for a consultation, get to the front of a queue, then get told I missed the call. Very frustrating and adds to upset when you’re already worried about your pet. Tried to contact support but it’s only via Facebook and Instagram of which I have neither. Tried to ask a vet to call me on my mobile to help me get online, no call. Once for a worrying swelling on my cat’s lip and then for the alarming concern I had about Lily poisoning. As a mother of two cats, whom our family are completely devoted to, having the reassurance of a vet’s advice at the tip of our fingers this week, has been the reassurance that we needed to assuage our concerns without subjecting our beloved cats to stressful emergency vet visits. I contacted them as part of my pet insurance, rather than taking my cat to the vet for the spots he had above his eyes. The initial communication, to discuss the issue my cat was having, was extremely prompt and I was not left waiting for a response. Then I had input from a vet and was able to send pics of my cat. The vet recommended a couple of items which worked wonders and saved me a fortune not having to go and see the vet in person. I was so impressed, from start to finish, with the vet and staff I came into contact with. Excellent service!
