## Newest reviews (17 of 340)

### 3/5 — Slow

*2026-09-07, version 5.10.7*

The app can be very slow to load when trying to check charger availability. Customer service always quick to respond even if it’s just to blame your vehicle not their equipment .

### 2/5 — Out of order

*2026-09-06, version 5.10.7*

Majority of charging spots seem to be out of order at any one time

### 2/5 — Greedy Fees

*2026-09-01, version 5.10.7*

Would not recommend. Downloaded and deleted once I read the fine print charging for each connection on what used to be free chargers. Rarely leave reviews, but this app compelled me to do so.

### 4/5 — Just one thing

*2026-09-01, version 5.10.7*

I would’ve given 5 stars but my one minor quibble is the QR code reader has never worked for me once and I’ve been to multiple charging stations in different areas. There’s always a chance I’m doing something wrong but I have no issues scanning a QR code any where else. It just seems completely unresponsive. Other than that the whole process is easy, especially if you have your payment info stored and ready to go.

### 1/5 — Can i give it zero stars?

*2026-08-22, version 5.10.7*

Try to sign up. It says already using email. Login buttons do not function on app. Terrible response from ui

### 1/5 — It’s not that hard

*2026-08-20, version 5.10.7*

It’s just the worst and it doesn’t need to be.

### 1/5 — Bad service

*2026-08-19, version 5.10.7*

Not working 24/7, not charging fast

### 1/5 — Connection fee and slow

*2026-08-18, version 5.10.7*

Be aware, they charge a $0.50 connection fee in addition to the $0.34/kwh for a relatively slow charge (compared to a Tesla supercharger). Give yourself 5-10 minutes to sign up through this POS app.

### 1/5 — Really hard to use

*2026-08-18, version 5.10.7*

Frustrating station selection process when chargers are clustered together. At multi-charger hubs, slight GPS inaccuracy makes it almost impossible to know which map pin corresponds to the charger you're parked at. Even though each post has a clear Station ID printed on it (e.g., 2WJB-21), typing that ID into the app's search bar doesn't select the specific station, forcing you to tap through identical map pins one by one and guess. The QR code on the post should deep-link directly to that charger rather than just linking to the app store.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2026-08-16, version 5.10.7*

Can’t use in ap

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-08-15, version 5.10.7*

Wasted 20 minutes trying to connect to a charger at the Santa Monica Von’s. Never worked

### 1/5 — How is this company making money?

*2026-08-15, version 5.10.7*

I honestly have no clue, apart from the advertising, of course because I’ve literally not been able to connect to this charger time, with multiple different electric vehicle models. At this point, I think these Chargers are just virtue signals for “clean energy“ posturing. God forbid you actually want to charge your car. Maybe idle fees are the main driver for Sales, I really have no clue. Does anybody at this company give a damn?

### 1/5 — Tries to charge a $2.40 connection fee

*2026-08-14, version 5.10.7*

Tries to charge a connection fee to charge,!

### 1/5 — Absolute trash

*2026-08-13, version 5.10.7*

I found a charger requiring this so in order to charge. It's trash. Doesn't work, and apparently they don't care that they are ranked one star. Probably a front for laundering. Fix your app!

### 1/5 — Cannot see the map without the credit card info

*2026-08-12, version 5.10.7*

I just want to look around first. But It does not allow it without your address and credit card

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-08-10, version 5.10.7*

Canadians can’t charge at their chargers, even though my credit card and everything is loaded correctly. Completely absurd, especially because the app provides no notification of such restrictions. I spent 15 minutes, trying to figure it out and give up. Why can’t you guys just give a notice based on my Geo location? It would take like 10 minutes to program this simple notification. This is why this deserves zero stars, but I have to be generous and give it one star

### 1/5 — Only if you can actually sign up the account

*2026-08-09, version 5.10.7*

Never receive the email or sms. The charger is slow as well. Not worth it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Failed to charge

*2026-09-07, version 5.10.7*

Downloaded the app set up account, identified charger, failed to charge. Not impressed. May delete this app

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2026-09-06, version 5.10.7*

Terribly long set up. So unnecessary to need to give my address, can’t use Apple Pay or auto fill in for credit cards. Barcode scanner would not work for locating the stall. Uninstalled. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Just does not work

*2026-09-01, version 5.10.7*

Ask for all the personal info on sign up and doesn’t work. Doesn’t support payment method like apple pay. Absolute worst.

### 1/5 — Terrible app, Terrible service

*2026-09-01, version 5.10.7*

Clumsy setup, took me 5 mins to install and add cc information, only to get charged for service fee and no electrical charge. Did it twice thinking the first time was a fluke, but was also charged a second time, again with no charge

### 1/5 — Another piece of charging junk

*2026-08-30, version 5.10.7*

Made an account and added all my details manually only to find the charger didn't work, or the app was too buggy to find it

### 1/5 — Too many steps and then doesn’t work

*2026-08-30, version 5.10.7*

Signing up takes forever, it’s so backwards you have to enter a credit card manually. Once I got signed up the charger never connected properly. Useless.

### 1/5 — Horrible experience

*2026-08-30, version 5.10.7*

You don’t need my blood type to charge my car. You need my credit card. Too involved for a one time use charge . Convenient placement, horrible experience. I chose not to charge my essentially dead car in a convenient way but instead make it harder on my self because the app experience was so bad. Just let tap my cc … and let’s move on with our lives.

### 1/5 — The absolute worst

*2026-08-27, version 5.10.7*

This has to be a joke. It flat out does not even function as a basic ev charging app. Payment details fail for no reason. Just trying to login is painful. It’s been this way for a long time. I can only assume the owner of this platform absolutely does not care.

### 1/5 — Greedy 50 cent connection fee

*2026-08-24, version 5.10.7*

Absolute predatory price gouging. JOLT used to offer fair, straightforward per-kWh pricing, but they have quietly rolled out hidden session fees and connection minimums that completely deceive drivers.
I plugged in for a quick 12-minute session, drew barely 0.6 kWh, and was billed $0.73—which works out to an effective rate of $1.20 per kWh! Instead of displaying their extra base charges transparently, they bake flat fees into your live balance without itemizing them, making a slow Level 2 top-off vastly more expensive than filling a car up with premium gasoline.
Charging standard residential rates roughly 10x over through hidden fee traps is completely unacceptable. Avoid this network unless you want to get ripped off by quiet price hikes and hidden connection charges. Stick to ChargePoint or charge at home.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-08-23, version 5.10.7*

Garbage. No QR code on charging station. Entering the code manually doesn’t work. Tried on multiple Jolt chargers. Avoid this brand of charger. Waste of time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy peasy! 😃👍🏻👏🏻

*2026-08-29, version 5.10.7*

Quick setup process, seamless great experience.

### 5/5 — RonEV

*2026-08-27, version 5.10.7*

I charge my Toyota Prime while I am working out at Planet Fitness. So far no issues.

### 5/5 — Works well and proper

*2026-08-11, version 5.10.7*

Just downloaded the app and got charging. Convenient in this area near Hershey park where there are not many options.

### 5/5 — Best Economical EV Charging

*2026-08-01, version 5.10.5*

If you know how to work around 7kW free energy, JOLT is the best and most economical EV charger.

### 5/5 — Works fine for me

*2026-07-31*

After read a lot of bad reviews I had decided to take the risk and try it my self.

- No problems at all with the app and the charging stations I had use 2 different stations so far and they had work perfectly fine.

I can stop and begging charging with the app with not issues at all also I didn’t have any problem with randomly charging stopping.
I guess they had fix that issue.

- They DO charge me $15 every time I used their charger but it’s like a hold amount that they reimburse after a couple days. This amount is extra from whatever you bill is so basically every time I used the charger charger I have 2 different charges one for $15 and the other one for what I had consumed. This might be a little annoying but since I used my credit card it doesn’t really bother me at all. But always good for you to know in case you’re using a debit card. So take it in consideration.

### 5/5 — It use to be free

*2026-07-23, version 5.10.5*

Hello and to whom ever it makes sense, I used to love using the jolt car chargers by the Montclair Plaza mall they used to be free, but I don’t know what happened. I used to charge my car for free for about an hour getting 25 to 32 miles then all of a sudden they start charging haven’t used them since they started to charge a fee to use their car charger stations, but hopefully it’s not a lot cause it’s not that powerful it only pushes out 10 watts out Max so hopefully it’s too cheap because you’re gonna sit there for an hour to to try to charge your car and then we get 40 miles worth it station but when it was free, it was nice. You could get the miles back. Take you to get to the mall. By using their charging stations for free, but hey, it’s the world we live in everyone need to get their money

### 5/5 — Easy Setup and Charging

*2026-07-19, version 5.10.5*

I decided to test this out at a mall parking lot, even with the negative reviews. No issues at all with downloading the app, setting up payment, and charging my car. And I was surprised to see how much my car had charged after only being in the mall for a little under 2 hours. I drive a 2020 Chevy Bolt, and the car had charged about 1/8 of the full battery. Also, the prices for charging were definitely very reasonable. Only $3.75. Will definitely use again! Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Expensive but worked seamlessly

*2026-07-03, version 5.10.5*

Just used it once but it was very quick and convenient. No hassle charging. That being said, 0.5$ per KWH is quite egregious

### 5/5 — I don’t understand the hate.

*2026-06-15, version 5.10.5*

I downloaded this app today on a whim, because I wanted to charge my ‘23 Polestar 2 a bit while we were at a movie theater. I had never even heard of Jolt. I rarely use public charging, and have only used EVGo for that. I was thankful this wasn’t a fast charger, because the prices tend to be much higher (in my limited experience with EVGo). The app was super easy to set up. I got started with the “Starter” membership, which is $0.00 (yes, ZERO) per month. This grants full access to their charging network. The upgraded membership is $4.99 (at the time of writing this) and gives you some discounts and whatnot. I don’t use public charging enough to pay for discounts. The app connected to the charger without any delays, and I was able to start charging my car immediately. When we got out of the theater, I easily ended the charging session in the app and I think it was less than $6 for two and a half hours of charging. I call that a win. It gave me plenty of charge to get back to Dallas from Frisco (after starting my day in Crandall), and then back to Crandall where my home is. I had zero issues with any part of the experience. App was easy to download and set up, charger worked flawlessly, and payment was easy. I don’t understand all the bad reviews.

### 5/5 — Great experience

*2026-05-31, version 5.10.5*

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Perhaps the app has improved ? I charged my first EV vehicle here and had a seamless experience. It was plug and play. Just use and pay through the app. I just don’t like how you can’t close the app. Other than that, mission accomplished!
