It doesn't remember WiFi networks when you go somewhere else. On initial setup I had to allow a local network or something like that in my Spotify settings (jookie setup didn’t tell me this step!). ### 2/5 — Bon produit, mais l’accessibilité, c’est pas encore ça *2024-01-08* Pour une utilisation avec VoiceOver, c’est quand même assez compliqué. Impossible de valider un code wi-fi, le bouton est masqué, inaccessible, et même ensuite dans l’application, pas mal de boutons sont non étiqueté. How is this even a thing? The Jooki app wants us to change our wifi password which would involve changing the wifi password I’m every device we have that’s connected to our home network (security cameras, laptops, gaming consoles, printers, etc), it should be an easy fix with an app update but nothing yet. Come on, Jooki. Do better! ### 1/5 — Defective Waste of Money *2023-08-03, version 92.3.120* We purchased the largest Jooki bundle. There have been a number of issues straight out of the box. The company confirmed this is not user error but technical. However, they will not refund or replace our purchase and have no immediate solutions. The biggest issue is all of the tokens acting the same. Though we purchased over a dozen tokens, we can only play one thing. I usually think other poor reviews are down to user incompetence and in this case that’s not the case. Can’t even finish setup to use the stupid thing. Luckily we bought from a retailer that accepts returns. I don’t know how this thing got elevated into the wild with such a poor user experience. Seems they did t test this thing at all. ### 4/5 — Unique device for screen-free music *2023-03-23, version 80.3.109* Just got my Jooki and was nervous about setup given all the doom and gloom on the app review. I needn't have been- the set up process was well documented and painless. Here's the deal- yes, the user experience generally could be better - although the complexity for the Spotify playlists is entirely due to Spotify's confusing UX. But every product could be better This is a kickstarter product that is totally unique in what it provides as far as I can tell- and that part really works which I found to be impressive. I've bought a lot of kids stuff and most of the tech fails or is a gimmick. Neither is the case here which alone is exciting. So I suggest you set expectations accordingly and enjoy a really delightful little product. ### 1/5 — speaker is great, app is garbage *2023-02-02, version 80.3.109* i work in tech and this app literally makes me want to k*ll myself — and my toddler loves this speaker so much so it makes me sad that the app has been nonfunctional for literally months now ### 1/5 — Horrible app. Do not buy this product. *2022-12-25, version 80.3.109* As recommended, we installed the app and set all of the tiles/figurines up for our daughter the night before Christmas. It all seemed to work while setting it up but since she unwrapped the gift with excitement it has been nothing but frustration and disappointment. The app will not connect to the device and is simply awful. Sad that we didn’t see these reviews while contemplating the purchase. Do yourself a big favor and do not buy this product. There’s a little girl in our house today who, thanks to Jooki, has nothing to enjoy this Christmas. ### 2/5 — Jooki speaker is great, the app is tough. *2022-12-25, version 80.3.109* The two stars are for the app, not the speaker itself.** The app force closes A LOT! I had to set the Jooki up about 4 times now going through the set up prompts with the app. The app tells me to restart the app to finish updates but when I do it, the app force closes and I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. It’s been frustrating so I don’t update the app. Linking tiles to Spotify is easy and while Spotify plays on the Jooki I can still watch videos from my phone and not have the video play interrupt the Jooki so that’s definitely a bonus compared to regular Bluetooth speakers. The speaker is durable and the sound quality is great! The material that the speaker is made out of is great and the tiles are a good size for tiny hands. ### 1/5 — Worst thing ever *2022-12-10, version 80.3.109* I feel sorry for my sister who gave this as a present for my daughter’s birthday. I work on the technology space so my comments are purely technical. This is perhaps the worst app I have ever seen in my life. I can’t comment on the speaker because I could not get that far as to actually use it. The mere fact that it asked me to change my home password because their software does not support the $ sign is ludicrous. And it goes in from there. I tried to use the best WI FI network that has a simpler password that apparently this techno can handle (all this makes a synod sense by the way) only to find that after many reboots and retrying with the easy password I was never able to connect the speaker. So I have asked my sister who mailed this piece of junk to see if she can get her money back. The problem is that we will spend more in postage that what this piece of garbage is worth. I highly recommend anyone buying a JBL or BOSE speaker. They work amazing and cost the same or even less. ### 1/5 — Absolutely horrid, look elsewhere. *2022-03-18, version 56* I bought a Jooki second gen (and a set of 5 figurines) for my son’s birthday. I’ve had it a week and cannot get it to work. I have emailed the company with ZERO response. So I reached out on FB, and got a response. Their support team has been unable to resolve all the issues I’m having. At this point, I just want a refund and to be done with it. No matter what troubleshooting I do on the device or what workarounds I come up with on the Spotify app, the Jooki app itself just goes to a completely blank screen every time I try to connect to either Jooki or the Wi-Fi. ### 1/5 — Absolute Garbage *2023-12-30, version 93.3.121* I’ve spent countless hours trying to get this garbage app to work. When it does, it’s pretty cool, but it’s such a rare exception that I can barely give it any credit. It rarely connects to the app and when it actually does, connecting to Spotify becomes another lottery you’re forced into to see if it’ll work. Oh, and don't make the mistake of having your kid use a token when you have Spotify playing other music on another device because that token isn’t smart enough to take over - instead, it will rewrite as the music you were listening to. I followed the instructions out of the box, although I had downloaded this app prior to receiving my Jooki, but all worked seamlessly for set up. Admittedly, the Spotify playlist linking was not even close to intuitive, but they literally have a video right there showing you how to do it. I took an unsuccessful directionless stab at it, then immediately watched the help video on the Connect to Spotify page, followed the directions, and it worked. Wanted to weigh in with a recent review because all the one star reviews had me sweating. I have an iphone 11, and whileI believe the app could work on a better user experience, this was still a seamless experience for me. Neue Tokens anlernen geht auch recht schnell wenn man mal den Dreh raus hat. Unsere 2 jährige Tochter kommt auch super damit zurecht. ### 5/5 — Bester Kinder-Player für Podcasts, gute Lösung für Hörspiele und Musik *2022-11-21* Ich bewerte die neue, 2. Version des Jooki-Players. Es gibt so viele tolle Podcasts für Kinder in Deutschland. Und Spotify ist für Podcasts eine gute Anlaufstelle. Aber wie kommen die Kinder zu ihren Inhalten? Mit den Token von Jooki völlig eigenständig! Das klappt natürlich auch mit andere Inhalten wie Hörspielen oder Musik. Es braucht noch nicht einmal einen kostenpflichtigen Premium-Account. Nach der einmaligen Verknüpfung eines Token mit einer Spotify-Playlist kann diese immer wieder neu mit Inhalten verknüpft werden. Das geschieht völlig unabhängig vom Gerät und kann auch aus der Ferne geschehen. Die Einrichtung zu Beginn empfand ich als „mittelschwer“, mit etwas Geduld eigentlich von jedem zu bewerkstelligen. Die Verknüpfung der Token mit einer Playlist war völlig easy. ### 5/5 — Der Hit! *2021-12-25* Bei uns gab es den 2. Gen Jooki zu Weihnachten. Die Kinder sind begeistert. Setup mit der App war easy. Setup worked right out of the box, was able to associate Spotify playlists with all the tokens, and the kid has been loving it. I felt like the setup was straightforward. I haven't had any issue with turning it on and connecting to the wifi (it takes about a minute, as the instructions say it will). I'm sorry other people leaving reviews seem to be having so much trouble. We love this music player. My 15 month old hasn't quite figured out how to set the figures flat yet to make it play on her own, but I think she'll get it in a few more weeks (I didn't expect her to get it immediately, it's made for older toddlers).
