I have the portable light and the app is the only way to control past the factory settings. Once connected it works just fine. It would also be nice if more than one phone could connect to the light with the app. My husband also uses the light but I have to run it for him from my phone. ### 2/5 — Poor connectivity/email memory *2024-01-20, version 1.4.0* When it works it works great when it doesn't. While the physical devices are interesting and potentially have some unsubstantiated benefits (their disclaimers summarizes), the app is essentially worthless. During setup I discovered that a larger setting of my fonts in iOS prevented me from being able to see and accept the check box for their privacy policy. Customer service proclaims that many apps don't do this... really? Substandard developers because first I have encountered over thousands of apps. As others have noted the app looses connection. In essence it is a timer - but the Go 2.0 has a built in timer anyway. My Go 2.0 arrived and I started setup only to find to my surprise that they were offering a Black Friday sale. But due to policy, no discount will be made and a $50 restocking fees for a product just received is inane. And negates the extra savings. There may well be benefits to light therapy - that is why I bought the device. But I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. The app is pittiful and they have proven themselves to follow then manta or not reading email and offering canned statements that are idiotic and demeaning. The tech isn't exclusive - go elsewheee ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2022-08-21, version 1.1.0* I can’t see the data on my iPhone 10. Words are overlapping and it doesn’t acknowledge changing weeks. Is there a different app? ### 2/5 — So Slow *2022-04-10, version 1.1.0* The only thing that keeps me from using Joovv as much is having to use this app. It’s slow and annoying. An unnecessary add on that doesn’t improve the experience but just makes it a burden to have to wait around for to sync and turn on. ### 2/5 — App is almost dog $&@+ *2022-04-06, version 1.1.0* Freezes up, hardly connects first try and when I select mode it doesn’t save it and gets stuck in ambient mode. ### 1/5 — Bare bones app *2022-04-02, version 1.1.0* This app sort of does the bare bones and does connect nicely to the joovv but the alarm option for the go consistently throws an error and doesn’t work. All of the text overlaps and certain toggles aren’t visible due to text going off the screen. It would also be nice to delete events. It logs every time you turn the machine on and it would be nice to delete those events. It would be even more amazing if you could track your goals by body part, particularly for the go but really any version that doesn’t cover the whole body. ### 1/5 — Useless App *2021-12-13, version 1.1.0* Connects to my Joovv device. Tries to pair device as mini or liberta. alarm clock function will not work unless paired as Joovv Go. Joovv does not have a customer support phone number, only email and it is very difficult to get assistance. For example, I’ll have done 3 session, but the app says I’ve done 7. I hope there is a fix for this in the near future. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Good device, terrible app *2026-07-23, version 1.4.1* Truly an awful app that makes you wonder if anyone even tested basic functionality. Every time I open it I have to re-pair the device and then you just get stuck in the pairing screen that's impossible to leave and doesn't seem to time out. Even closing the app doesn't work. So even changing a few settings is almost impossible. ### 1/5 — Bluetooth rarely connects *2026-07-11, version 1.4.1* I constantly have issues connecting my device to the app. And after the last iPhone update it won’t connect at all. ### 1/5 — Cannot change time setting in app *2026-06-11, version 1.4.1* Every time I need to change my session time length is a nightmare - it takes me up to ten minutes sometimes just to change the time setting because I have to keep trying until it finally “takes”… it is ridiculous. I have two small children that I can’t use this device around because I’m using NIR so when I get time to myself to do red light I need to be efficient. It should offer mode control without having to log in. While it supports Face ID, I frequently have to manually log in. (Despite deleting and rebooting the phone & app). It is so irritating and now this new update makes it worse to use. It’s a piece of junk at this point. With the new update you have made my go unit unuseable. ### 1/5 — The brand got me, the product under delivered. *2025-03-10, version 1.4.1* After investing in a Joovv light system that featured Bluetooth support, I was very excited to try the app. Very disappointed in almost every possible way. To start, there have been there is only been one enhancement released in the last five months. It’s clear they are not investing in software development. The best example of this is the terrible Bluetooth support. It often takes multiple attempts to pair my phone with the device. The app itself is very basic, but the UI is difficult to navigate. Given the Bluetooth support was a key reason why I chose to purchase a Joovv light system, this is a major to tractor and I regret the purchase. ### 1/5 — No internet! *2024-05-18, version 1.4.0* Love my Joovv, hate the app!!! So upset!!! I’ve tried for two days to create a log in for app and it continues to tell me I don’t have internet so, I can’t create an account. Thank you for the quick response. Newly released feature doesn’t work. I deleted the app then went to install on iphone 13 and App store only had option to open...but app is not on any home screen. Very buggy. Unit is great though as long as you're happy without app and the tracking. ### 3/5 — Concerned *2022-12-12, version 1.2.2* Just unpacked my box a few days ago and so far, my Joovv Solo 3.0 seems to be working great. However, the app, which was just updated 2 weeks ago, is surprisingly poorly done considering the cost of this device. The iPhone version has text that goes off the screen with no way to reduce the size. I get a popup window every time I open the app stating there’s been updates but while I could update the first one, the Bluetooth update button appears off the screen below and is inaccessible. So I just keep getting reminders with no way to act on it. I’m also a little concerned from reading previous reviews that they don’t have a customer service number, only an email which people have said seems to not be very responsive. One last thing, I wish the device could be powered off instead of just staying in standby mode. ### 3/5 — Just meh - could be so much better *2022-02-19, version 1.1.0* I love the product but hate the app. I see the potential there, so hopefully the developers do too. I have the small Joovv and I share this with my husband. He has his own login but the data somehow gets mingled. I’ve tried at least 10 times to change my weekly goal for number of sessions and it keeps reverting back. The number of sessions/minutes is not accurate -again, I think it’s mingling the data. When my husband uses the Joovv his app goes to my # of minutes and vice versa. There was no help/FAQ that addressed using the same device for two people. I’m still fairly new to using the actual products so haven’t seen results yet. ### 3/5 — Better than before; room for improvement *2021-02-09, version 1.0.2* This app is so much better than the previous app from Joovv, but there is still room for improvement. The Bluetooth connection is quick when you open the app, and I do enjoy that it logs your number of sessions and time for the week. However, a MUCH NEEDED improvement is the session settings. It defaults back to 1 minute time EVERY time you open or use the app. I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to set a default OR have it default back to your last-used settings.
