## What is Jot the Spot?

Never lose a thing at home.

Say where you put something once. Ask when you need it. Jot the Spot keeps the little facts that are too useful to forget and too easy to lose.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Jot it naturally. Tap the mic and say "passport, grey drawer, bedroom." No forms, no folders, no tidy filing system to maintain.
2. Get on with your day. Your words become a clean, searchable memory in about three seconds.
3. Ask when it matters. Say "Where's my passport?" and there it is, with the date you put it there.

BUILT FOR ORDINARY LIFE

• Capture by voice or by typing, whichever suits the moment
• Ask in your own words, no exact phrasing required
• Full history when something moves, so you can see where it was before
• Add a photo to anything you'd rather see than read
• Share one memory with the people you live with, so either of you can ask
• A lock-screen widget and Action Button shortcut for one-press capture

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

The microphone only ever opens after you tap it, and it closes when you pause. Your words become text using your device or a speech recognition service, and temporary recordings used for transcription are discarded. Nothing is recorded in the background. You can export everything you've jotted, or delete all of it, from Settings.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-22

New: things that only stay put for a while.
• Add a time limit when you save a spot, for example "milk, fridge door, goes off in 5 days" or "contact lenses, bathroom shelf, expire in 6 months". An UNTIL date appears as you save.
• When that date is a week away or has passed, the saved spot shows a reminder to check it still holds.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-09-11

No release notes.
