Mais aussi pour décorer mon salon quand je suis à la maison. Non seulement l’idée est géniale (j’avais un IBoardBot auparavant, que j’avais monté moi même) mais en plus c’est très bien réalisé : esthétique et efficace. L’application permet d’envoyer des textes, des vignettes et des images (svg), leur cloud les converti en GRBL et l’envoie au tableau blanc qui trace. L’application fonctionne sans soucis. ### 1/5 — Almost no improvements in several years *2022-03-12, version 1.9.5* Unfortunately Joto does not receive much love from it‘s developers. Teased years ago as a smart device with Spotify, Alexa and Slack Integrations, Joto is still a simple drawing board with an App that is ridiculously bad, keeps crashing, looses connection and often can’t even really just draw something without crashing again. This App sees so few updates it‘s really not worth investing in a Joto at all. Doesn’t seem as this device will ever get really smart. ### 2/5 — Can’t edit or delete existing jots *2020-05-28, version 1.6* Old jots are filling up the lists and there is no option to delete, edit or recycle them... what a mess... ### 1/5 — Le tableau ne marche pas *2020-04-15, version 1.6* Ce n’est pas vraiment l’appli que je note mais l’objet. Sur le papier ce gadget était intéressant mais il ne fonctionne pas vraiment (dans mon cas le stylo ne revient pas se loger dans son emplacement : la mine sèche). Bref impossible à faire marcher. ### 1/5 — 1.1 does not open on 11 Pro *2020-01-10, version 1.1* The app does not currently open on the iPhone 11 Pro ### 1/5 — App crashes when starting *2019-11-11, version 1.1* I can’t open the app. When I click the button the app crashes immediately. ### 2/5 — SLOW start, and poor interface/product *2019-08-28, version 1.0.1* This is slightly a product and slightly an APP review. Understandably this was a very slow product to come to market, delivery to the backers. But you would think that in all that time they could have perfected the app. Even since I’ve had this and started using there has not been a single update to the app. They need to include: -custom fonts to write messages on the display. I could simply write on a whiteboard with better ability than through an app, and it would be way cheaper and faster. The “cool” aspect of this was that it would draw something that was better looking than a simple rough sketch. -library of illustrations that are not just other users. -ways to import drawings. On a product side the ink drys out way to fast. I might just start using this as a traditional whiteboard with a cool eraser... ### 2/5 — Hardware...decent. Software...not ready *2019-06-29, version 1.0.1* I’m SURE they’re working on updates to this software...they HAVE to be...the Joto itself seems solid and good to go. It runs on Gcode, super simple. The software/drawing tools are, at best, mediocre. There’s no erase, only individual line rotation + shrink/grow. It’s nearly impossible, even with a good stylus pen to duplicate some of the artwork they’ve portrayed on the app docs. This seems to be because the app compresses the GCode from drawing to board (to shrink streamed data packet?) resulting in a relatively blocky curvy line. It’s too bad, it seems the app was rushed out to make up for lost time as the hardware was delayed quite a bit. Personally, I’d rather have waited an extra year for delivery in order to have a better app. My 2¢ anyway. ### 3/5 — A solid start *2019-06-26, version 1.0.1* So this is a good start, the Joto works and is pretty cool. Things I’d like to see in the app: -fix the drawing functionality so that curves are better rendered, now they are squared off quite a bit. Add an eraser and some basic editing tools. Add a way to type in text rather than pen input only. -history of what images were drawn, and when. -add some functionality to import drawings? The biggest issue I have is that I can’t draw a picture with smooth lines - I’m pretty sure that the pictures they have in their adverts weren’t drawn with the app since they have nicely curved lines. I’m guessing they have a way to import them and it’d be nice if I could do that too. This has just been recently released so I’m sure they’ll be adding some polish, since that will increase their potential market (this thing would be great for daily specials at a cafe if the editor was better!). Looking forward to seeing what they do with it... ### 1/5 — Drawing and Creation Tools Severely Lacking *2019-06-16, version 1.0.1* As I am sure many other’s will realize as they receive their new Jotos, this device has a lot of potential but currently is barely usable. I have not purchased the professional art subscription which seems to promise very crisp clean graphic art. In fact, all the drawing examples advertised for Joto are very precise graphic designer. As a designer myself, I am at a loss as to how poor the drawing tool performs. There are no undos, no eraser, and palm rejection support which is built into iOS. Even worse, the app is unable to capture anything resembling the drawing inputted. For example, if I draw a circle it converts into something closer to a square. I am not sure if this is due to the app needing to translate the drawing data into a vector based art form. If so, I think the tool would be better off providing shapes, Bézier curve tools, and type tools instead of a unusable free form drawing tool. Also, it would be nice if there was support for other content creation tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer or Procreate. Simply put the Joto team needs to fix and improve content creation tools quickly. Current software state is does not bode well for the future of Joto period. Quite frankly it’s a bit disappointing especially considering the long production and shipping delays.
