Start with a line. Tap the box when it is done. Keep a list to yourself, or share it with someone else when that is useful. MADE FOR REAL LIFE Use jots for groceries, errands, packing, chores, and the loose ends that do not need a project plan. Add sections in your own words, set due dates and reminders, assign an item, or repeat a task. WORKS WITHOUT A CONNECTION Create, edit, reorder, and complete items offline. If you choose to sign in, your changes sync through iCloud when a connection returns. SHARING IS OPTIONAL jots works without an account. Sign in only when you want lists on your other devices or want to share with people you invite. Shared lists are private and invitation-only. QUICK TO REACH A Home Screen widget shows the list you care about. A system shortcut lets you add a task without opening the app. Grocery mode keeps quantities together when you add the same item again. Quick add shortcuts and Markdown export from Settings. ### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-15 Sharing a list with someone on another iCloud account now works. Tapping an invite used to open jots and stop there. The invite is picked up properly now, whether jots was already running or launched by the tap, and it turns on iCloud syncing for you so the list arrives without a trip to Settings. Shared lists arrive whole. Everything on the list travels with the invitation instead of the list showing up empty, and the person you invited can add and tick things off, with those changes going back to you rather than into a private copy. Items that had been sitting on your phone since before you turned syncing on now go up to iCloud. If a list read one short on another phone, that is why. The count on the home screen matches the list you open. A list counts only its own kind of row, so an item list stops counting leftover task rows you never see. Shared lists carry a small badge on the home screen, one mark for lists you shared out and another for lists shared with you, and you can pull down on the home screen to sync. Lists and tasks remain two separate kinds. A list is for what you are gathering, tasks have owners and dates, and you pick which you want when you make a new list. ### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-15 Lists and tasks now work the way you actually use them. A list is a list. Groceries, packing, whatever you are gathering. Type a line, hit return, keep typing. Tap any line to fix it where it sits. Nothing asks you who it belongs to or when it is due, because a bag of apples does not need a deadline. Tasks are jobs. They have an owner and a date, so they open properly when you tap them, and you can hand one to whoever you share the list with. You pick which kind you want when you make a new list. The keyboard stays put now. Add twenty items in a row and it never drops out from under you.
