## What is jots task list?

jots is a list app for groceries and the everyday things people carry together.

Start with a line. Tap the box when it is done. Keep a list to yourself, or share it with someone else when that is useful.

MADE FOR REAL LIFE
Use jots for groceries, errands, packing, chores, and the loose ends that do not need a project plan. Add sections in your own words, set due dates and reminders, assign an item, or repeat a task.

WORKS WITHOUT A CONNECTION
Create, edit, reorder, and complete items offline. If you choose to sign in, your changes sync through iCloud when a connection returns.

SHARING IS OPTIONAL
jots works without an account. Sign in only when you want lists on your other devices or want to share with people you invite. Shared lists are private and invitation-only.

QUICK TO REACH
A Home Screen or Lock Screen widget shows the list you care about, and checks an item off without opening the app. A system shortcut adds a task from anywhere. Grocery mode keeps quantities together when you add the same item again.

CALM BY DESIGN
No feeds, scores, streaks, ads, or analytics SDKs. Just lists, clear type, and a little less to remember.

PRIVACY AND CONTROL
Export your local lists as Markdown from Settings. Export and account deletion controls are built into the app.

Lists open calm. The list fills the screen and the keyboard stays down until you ask for it. Tap the capture dock at the bottom to start adding, and the field stays open for as many lines as you need.

Put the keyboard away with one tap. A dismiss control sits beside the field, a downward drag on the list does the same, and opening an item closes capture for you.

Escape on a hardware keyboard closes capture on iPad.

Paste a whole list at once. Text with line breaks splits into separate rows, and bullets, numbers, and checkbox markers are removed for you.

Copy any list as plain text. The list becomes a formatted checklist you can send in a message to anyone, on any device.

Check items off from the Home Screen and Lock Screen. The widgets now show what is left and complete an item where it stands.

Restock in one step. Add from recent brings back what you buy most often, ordered by how often you buy it.
