So much potential

I wanted to give this 5 stars because I see a lot of potential in this app but at the same time, it still has some kinks that need to be ironed out. First: how long of a recording is too long? I tried it out for 2000+ seconds and obviously it was too long but I tried it also for 400 seconds and it still said “something went wrong, please try again”. It’s disappointing because I have to start all over again and lost all of the journal points I had made in that time. Second: an ability to add more recordings into the same entry as a way to edit a journal entry instead of creating a new entry every time you press record. Third: a way to add a journal entry by typing and the text still be recognized by AI for summary. I edited a journal entry to add some more points by typing and the summary did not update. I believe in your app, I think it’s got a lot of potential! Great work and good luck!

Exactly what I need!

This is an incredible app. Exactly what I was looking for. Unlike other diary apps where you type everything out, Jot lets you record a voice memo for a few minutes, and it’ll turn that into a journal entry for you. Saved me a ton of time!

One of the best things about Jot is how it can answer questions about your journal history. You can ask it stuff like, “What’s my favorite food?” or “What was my worst day so far?” and it’ll dig through all your past entries to find the answer. It’s a neat way to reflect on your past without having to dig through everything manually.

That said, the app does have some room for improvement. Sometimes the transcription doesn’t work perfectly, which means you might have to start over if you’ve recorded a longer memo. I’d advise to keep your recordings short or split them into multiple entries. It’d also be great if there was an option to save the audio and retry the transcription later if it fails.

Another thing I’d love to see is the AI talking to me in the first person instead of referring to “the user.” And it would be awesome if you could go back and add entries to past days or fix mistakes.

Overall, I really like Jot and the concept behind it. It’s a fantastic tool and I’m excited to see how it gets better in the future!

Loving this app! Super easy to use and really helpful.
I would love if you made it possible to create a widget - I like to use the app when I wake up to record my dreams, so having it as a widget on the locked screen or today’s view page so I don’t have to fiddle too much with the phone at that time and go straight to taking would be a +++

Thank you!

An amazing accessibility journaling app

I process things by talking out loud, so this app is really helpful for just word, vomiting, and then AI summarizing what I’ve said. I would appreciate some consistency of the point of view of the voice of the summary. it currently oscillates between first and third person, and I would appreciate being able to pick one and stick with it. Personally, I like third person. Since I didn’t write that summary, it feels weird that it’s in third person.
